Not just me getting nostalgic I can tell :D

I’ve been wondering if other countries have fruktkräm or if it’s a Swedish thing, do you know? I’m pretty sure having it with milk is at least Swedish.

IIRC I saw some youtube video about typical Finnish food where they had something like that... Don't you have it over there? It's actually something we never had at home. I ate it at daycare some times, but not very often...

I’ve never checked but it’s quite likely as there’s obviously a lot of Swedish cross over. I can’t remember ever eating it regularly, but I do get cravings for it like once every two years or so haha. In Poland you can get fruit soup that you eat with pasta or dumplings, but it’s not at all the same. Compote is made in a lot of countries, but again, it’s not the same!

Vegetarian lasagna and a salad with goat's cheese

My wife had friends over and one of them don't eat meat, so she made a vegetarian lasagna. It's really good, so I really enjoyed some leftovers :)

Evening sweets - 21:40

Danish

They handed these out for free at the gas station, so I couldn't just say "no". I mean - free food! Who says "no" to that? :D

Sweden In Sweden these are called "Wienerbröd", which translates to "Vienna bread". I don't eat Danishes very often, but I always think they look delicious when I see them. But then when I actually have one I'm usually disappointed. They're never as tasty as they look :( Especially the gas-station bake-off versions (no wonder...). I bet a fresh one made at a proper bakery would be so much better!

How's that effecting you?

It's a struggle... Some of it is more triggering than other things.

I do still feel like I need to compensate/make up for it whenever I (am about to) eat sweets. And it does stress me out when I know we'll be hosting and there will be "unhealthy" foods served, or if we're going somewhere where there will be sweets served.

15 minutes ago, Jett said:

Are you still not tracking amounts or your weight?

Correct. Haven't stepped on the scales for weeks now... And that feels alright. I do check the mirror every now and then though, so I have a rough estimate of how my weight is developing

Seems like you haven't really binged for a little while, though?

How do you compensate for sweets?

And have you found any coping mechanisms for the stress of being around sweet/unhealthy foods in a social setting like that? (Whether good or bad... I guess the "compensation" is one coping mechanism!)

This seems like a big step in the right direction! :) I remember how upsetting the small fluctuations of weight going up and down were for you. How you look, and more importantly, how you feel (health-wise, both mentally and physically) are probably the best indicators of whether you're eating in a healthy way.

Eating less - moving more

Not really :(  And that was one of the biggest reasons for my latest binge :(

Yes! It's so nice! I do feel a bit like I'm just turning a blind eye to reality by not weighing myself. But for now this is going to have to be good enough

It was good :D

16 hours ago, Arkania said:

It depends... We have both white and red glögg. Red glögg is almost always enjoyed warm. White glögg is sometimes served chilled, sometimes warm. Sweden The biggest Glögg brand, "Blossa" releases a special flavor of Glögg each year. This year's flavor is Limoncello basil. The recommendation for that one is to serve it chilled, mixed with ice and Prosecco. Haven't tried that yet :) But I much prefer the red kind of glögg, served smoking hot, with raisins and chopped almonds.

16 hours ago, Arkania said:

Yeah, Ikea has a Glögg, but it's not a wine-based glögg. It's based on just fruit/berry juices and is basically a child's drink that's way too sweet and lacks all the body you get from a wine-based glögg. So stay away from that kind!

16 hours ago, Arkania said:

My wife's cousin made them all. She had a house-warming party, and that's what she served. It was all super tasty! (Well, everything except the stuff with chocolate in it ;)). I had at least ten cupcakes, and a lot of everything else too... She lives on her own, and doesn't work full-time, so she has a lot of spare time to do all the baking :)

Sleep Log:

I have recorded my sleep for parts of this period, but forgot to do it towards the end. So I won't post it. And I think I'll stop writing down the times altogether. I just don't see the point of it. At least not right now. Will maybe do it again if I decide I want/need to do something about my sleeping routines.
