Glad they are both well and that, given that you can type, your hands are seemingly uncrushed. :)

Congrats and may she grow to make you proud!

Had an epic workout yesterday! :D So much energy! Yay :)

I try to make every workout a little more challenging than the one before it. Yesterday I added one more rep to my pushups, to 20, for four sets. With the ten pushups I do during my warm-up that adds up to 90 pushups. And that's just too close to doing the magic 100 pushups to not go for it. My original plan was to just add 10 push-ups after I was done with my regular workout, but feeling pretty strong during my last set of pushups, I just kept going, doing 30 pushups instead of the planned 20. So 10 + 20 + 20 + 20 + 30 = 100 pushups during my workout! :D

And listening to songs like this during my workout Note

That just put me in the mood to do the ugly dance during my set rests!

That's a lot of push ups. :o Very impressive. Sounds like it's time to do a harder variation!

To be fully honest I did let my form slip a little bit just to get all those reps in

So I'm going to focus more on my form (especially not flaring out with my elbows). That will make it harder. I'm also going to work on explosiveness. Would be fun to be able to do a clap push-up :)

Music is best. I hear music all the time. Motivating music for workouts and running, chilling music for reading and learning and thinking, music for cleaning the house (and dance while doing it), for singing, while cooking, so: I can't live without music and depending on which music genre I listen to, I build myself up with it, control myself down or suddenly have a good mood. Music <3

And it's been ages that I heard Funker Vogt :D

Also: Really great work on the push ups!!

New Years dinner

Appetizer: Hummer soup with basil creme and bread

Main dish: Beef tenderloin, potato bake, roasted carrots (various colors), morel mushroom sauce

Dessert: Mango panna cotta with raspberry coulis and blueberries

New Years dinner was okeyish. The soup tasted good, but I would have liked some whole shrimp, or pieces of hummer in the soup. The bread was very boring. Beef tenderloin is always beef tenderloin :)  The roasted carrots with herbal butter were good, and the potato bake was good too (if a bit small). The mushroom sauce was bland. I mean, it was a cream sauce, and cream is always good. But it didn't taste much of anything. It should have tasted much more of the morel mushrooms! The most disappointing part of the meal was dessert though.  I'm not a big fan of panna cotta, I find it pretty boring. You need a lot of different toppings to make it interesting. Especially something crunchy to get a different texture element. Now everything was just slimy... And it was also too small. It should have been at least twice as big, maybe even four times as big!

Dessert #2 - 23:30

20181231_231718.jpg.e199987676bc41c365be4c935daea8b7.jpg

Three kinds of ice cream, whipped cream, lemon wafer cookies, sliced bananas, meringues, home cooked caramel sauce and sprinkles

Thankfully we all knew dessert usually is disappointing, so we had backup! :D Above is just one of several servings that I had. Unfortunately I hadn't bought enough vanilla ice cream, so that one went pretty fast. Other than that everyone seemed very happy with the backup dessert. My wife's caramel sauce got rave reviews! Yummy

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I've been searching for good music for cleaning and ironing for ages and can't seem to put together an acceptable playlist. What do you listen to?

80s/90s/Drum and Bass/all the music :D

I think on Amazon Music there is a playlist especially for cleaning.

Tuesday Jan 1

Januari 1st was not a regular day. It was the day my wife gave birth to our third child, a baby girl named Selda.

It started out like many other days

Breakfast - 11:00

20190101_105935.jpg.b2141e46043121b54a60a047dd13ae97.jpg

Crispbread with butter, Christmas ham and mustard.

Last piece of Christmas ham :( I'm going to miss it, it's been super tasty! A while after breakfast I went to do my bodyweight workout. But after completing just half of it my wife said her labor pains were getting really strong and that she wanted to go to the hospital. So I had to end the workout and go take a shower.

Lunch - 15:00

20190101_145913.jpg.bf0bbe0ba11d566c091e8e9356691318.jpg

Bristling pancake roll, fried Brussels sprouts and fresh tomato

Had to eat something as well before rushing off to the hospital. So I nuked some leftover Christmas food we had in the freezer while I pan fried a few Brussels sprouts and cut up a tomato.

20190101_153628.jpg.7311bdb787fa825f9e581a234447a326.jpg

Less than 30 minutes after finishing that meal we went in to the labor and delivery ward at the hospital.

20190101_202517.jpg.2b58564755925692927c66a326064925.jpg

It was a nice ward, with free drinks, some free food for both mother- and father to be. And also a Christmas tree and a couple of really nice gingerbread houses that spread the most pleasant smell :)

Our baby girl had been doing the headstand long enough now inside mommy's tummy

20190101_192334.jpg.aee7b941a08fefb9023fd21494be53e6.jpg

My wife hadn't eaten any lunch, and still couldn't get any food down, but they had drinks that anyone could freely grab at the hospital, so she had some pear juice.

20190101_210109.jpg.fcfa9b26be8314cc12489025fb12bf82.jpg

After approximately three hours Selda was born :) My wife had done an amazing job, using only nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and a hot bath to numb the labor pains. Once the water broke it only took her two minutes to deliver our baby girl. The perfect, standard, vaginal birth!

20190101_202616.jpg.05737001c910507d6c5396b78907a547.jpg

After childbirth my wife could finally eat something, so I prepared two rusks with butter and cheese for her. I tasted a bite of each. Don't think I've eaten that for at least five years, probably longer! But it still tasted exactly like I remembered it from childhood when I used to eat it much more frequently :)

20190101_210206.jpg.2d166e055ab3e3d836ec9dea471a4e0b.jpg

After a while a nurse came with a celebrational meal for me and my wife.Sweden  This is customary in Sweden, and they also did that in Denmark, where we gave birth to our oldest son.

Lots of waiting around for nurses and doctors... To pass the time I did some inversions :)  Which also let me report in for the I WAS INVERTED: New Year's Day 2019 Holiday Mini-Challenge

20190101_220446.jpg.3f284452fed29bd076578f51a0265897.jpg

More than three hours after giving birth someone finally came to take the weight and length of our little baby girl. 3356 grams and 50 cm tall.

At around midnight we got to push Selda to the maternity ward where all three of us got our own room to share.

Looks like an eventful day that went pretty well. I love how Selda's all naked but carries a cap. It's true what they say, you really do get cold by the head.* ^^

* That's a popular belief in French that de Devil would enter through your ears during the night if you didn't cover them, hence why those ridiculous sleeping caps they had back in the days. I don't know if there's an equivalent in English.

Wednesday Jan 2

Breakfast - 08:20

20190102_082217.jpg.2be4f58c0d3f393f4f9c067f7c74710f.jpg

A slice of bread with butter, egg and kaviar

A crispbread with butter, cheese and vegetables

A bowl of longmilk, oats, cornflakes, flax seeds and sugar free apple puré, cinamon

An extra hard boiled egg

Woke up in the maternity ward and went to have breakfast. Breakfast was served between 7 and 9. They had a pretty good selection of typical Swedish breakfast foods. I could have sampled/eaten all-the-things, like I have a tendency to do when I'm spending the night somewhere else and there is a big breakfast buffet. But I didn't! #selfcontrol

Slow day, mostly spent in the bed with either me or my wife holding Selda :)

Look at that hand! It's like a tiny 90 year old's hand! All dry and wrinkly.

Lunch - 12:00

20190102_121200.jpg.3cf09214a117e6f0d965180219543f0e.jpg

Curry chicken lasagna with boiled cauliflower, broccoli and carrots, and a fresh salad with mango pieces.

Lunch was served at 12 sharp, and it was served by this old lady handing out portions of food :)  It was difficult to know how much food to ask for, since I didn't know how much the lasagna would fill me up... The mango in the fresh salad went really well with the curry flavor of the chicken lasagna Yummy

Dessert - 12:40

20190102_123944.jpg.999688e1b3fdc27093e82dc768cd8494.jpg

Blueberry compote with heavy cream

We were allowed to help ourselves to dessert. I usually love blueberries, and they were pretty good, but the star of the show was definitely the heavy cream. I love that stuff!

(@Mad Hatter the blueberry compote ("blåbärskräm") made me think of you and our previous discussion about fruit compote :)). The had the food menu for the week posted on the fridge door, and every day there was a different fruit compote for dessert. Such a typical hospital food. Something even old people with no teeth can eat :P

Dinner - 19:00

20190102_190224.jpg.8ccd134163d575e05306ade17adcc7a2.jpg

Gingerbread spiced zoats, topped with cream cheese mixed with lingonberries and some toasted pecans.

A bit after lunch I got bored with hospital life, so I went home for a bit. Had that epic workout I posted about earlier, and then made dinner for myself. But later that evening I started feeling lonely, so I went back to the hospital again to spend the night with my wife and our baby girl.
