Ahhh... a themed challenge...

 

I have some goals:

 

Build the Citadel of Blocks

Obviously based on the Citadel of Ricks, this will just be my rolling goal of collecting PRs. +1 STR for each PR or Rep PR.

Get ready to fight the Glactic Federation

This is my cardio goal. This time it is all based on weighted conditioning session which will be done 6 days per week. +1 CON for 30/30 sessions.

 

Take the Anti-Pickle serum

I'm going to track my supplement intake - historically, I'm extremely hit and miss. +1 CON for 30/35 days.

Get Schwifty!

I'm going to re-introduce kicking my hackysack as my DEX goal. +1 DEX for at least 5 mins 30/35 days.

Use Rick's Cognition Amplifier

I need to be doing extra work for my Russian-ing. +1 INT for every EXTRA session I do during the weeks (ie: NOT including my lessons or the cramming that occurs before my lessons).

 

Eat all the Strawberry Smiggles!

I need to make some better food choices. I've maintained 95 kg for several months on Keto which I'm happy with but my food quality could be improved. This goal is fairly nebulous, but I'mgoing with +1 WIS for every week I make better decisions.

Week 1

Monday 6 Aug:

 

Training:

Decent lower body day. Injury is feeling a bit better.

-155kg box squat with +15kg at top due to bands.

-135kg Block pulls for a topset of 5

-85kg squats with SSB and Oly shoes

-90kg bench presses for triples (This isn't technically part of the plan BUT I just read an article by Greg Nuckols about increasing frequency, so I'm trying it out).

-80kg RDLs for 8s

-Abzzzz

-5 mins of hackysack

 

Conditioning:

-24 mins of KB presses, TRX rows, Upright rows and back extensions.

 

All the other Stuff:

-Got my supplements in and did well with protein today - somewhere between 150g and 200g.

-No Russian today

Week 1

Tue 7 Aug:

 

Training:

Only conditioning today.

 

Conditioning:

-5 mins of hackysack as a warm up - worked on toe stalls and general precision drills. Also a bit of free play.

-10 x 20s sprint on C2 with 40s rest. Intentionally starting at a level that is 'easy' and I'll ramp up over time.

 

All the other Stuff:

-Still got some supplements to go, but they're laid on the desk ready to take.

-Some Russian today - Added 5 more verbs to my box of flashcards and I'll get some reading inbefore bed.

Week 1

Wed 8 Aug:

 

Training:

Bench day.

 

-Bench with Slingshot: New PR @ 137.5kg. Probably could have done 140+ but my method is to break a PR once and move on.

-TnG Bench: 8s @ 85kg

-Strict OHP: 3s @ 52.5kg

-Beltless Squats: 5s @ 80kg (Just adding an extra day in for practice and extra volume)

-BB row: 5s @ 65kg (this exercise is no longer hurting my ribs which is a good sign)

-Tricep Extensions: 8s

 

Conditioning:

-150 leg presses @ 150kg in 19 mins (I have a vague recollection of doing this in 14 mins in the past - but it's only day 3 of conditioning so I'll let it pass)

 

All the other Stuff:

-Still got some supplements to go, but they're laid on the desk ready to take.

-No Russian today.

-10 mins of hacky sack time.

-Kettlebell cleans and presses + running

 

All the other Stuff:

-All good withthe supplements + my iodine supplement arrived today so I'll add that in..

-Sone Russian today - spent longer than I would have liked translating a Charles Dickens short stort from giberish into English.

-Some upsetting news... The fucking dog ate my hacky sack.... so that goal is no more. The one time I had a decent DEX goal...

Sounds like you had a pretty special and intimate relationship with this hackeysack, and that losing it was almost comparable to losing a loved one. /kiwi

Thyroid health. I've historically been a bit short on salting my food with iodised table salt and rarely eat any of the food that are high in iodine (seafoods and seaweedse etc). An unhappy thyroid equals a shitty metabolism, so I'm trying to speed it all up a little.

I've ordered 4 new ones. But they will take a while to arrive, so I'll roll that into mynext challenge I guess...

Week 1

Fri 10 Aug:

 

Training:

Dynamic effort day... and for the first time in a while it was truly dynamic. My injury seems to have really healed up over the last 2 days... almost pain free.

 

-Speedy Box squats: 10 doubles with 115kg, then singles up to 150kg (up 10kg from last week).

-Speedy Sumo Block Pulls: 12 singles with 125.

-Powercleans - really just fucking around with these to see if I can still do them and did some doubles at 70kg.

-Narrow Stance box squats: 8s at 80kg +

-Back extensions and abs.

 

Conditioning:

-Pushups and Rows.

 

All the other Stuff:

-All good with the supplements.

-No Russian.
