Sat 25 Aug:

 

Training:

Repetition Upper.

 

- Bench: 8s at 90kg.

- Closegrip Bench + 10kg chains: 5s up to 87.5kg.

- Seated OHP: 8s at 42.5kg.

- Pullups: 3s with various band tensions finishing with 1 set of 3 with no assistance.

- Pushdowns and Curls.

 

Conditioning:

- Dead ball slams and C2 rowing: 23 mins.

 

All the other Stuff:

-Supps: Getting there.

-Russian: Cramming done prior to lesson..

-Hackysacking: Done... still terrible.

Week 4

Mon 27 Aug:

 

Training:

Max Effort Lower... Everything is going super well at the moment...

 

- Reverse band Squat (+30kg at the top): Max single of 157.5kg + 30kg at lockout. New PR! I also feel like I could probably squat 165ish without the added bands. After 3 months of injuries, that's not too bad, my meet PR squat is only 175kg.

- Deficit DL: 5s up to 145kg.

- Squats with SSB: 3s up to 100kg.

- Straight leg DLs: 8s at 100kg. I only planned to do 8s at 90ish... but I couldn't be fucked unloading the bar, so I did 100kg instead.

- TNG Bench: 3s at 95kg.

- Abs

 

Conditioning:

- TRX Rows and pushups... 11 mins.

 

All the other Stuff:

-Supps: Yup.

-Russian: Nope.

-Hackysacking: Ugh... nope. I've missed too many days to pull this one off, but I'm going to roll it over into the next challenge.

Surprisingly, my lesson went extremely well... I remembered all my verbs except one (and it wasn't one of the ones that I've been stressing about). I have 5 new ones this week but they all seem fairly easy and straight forward.

 

Cramming will go ahead as usual because I had to bring my lesson forward to tomorrow. I will get a bit done today and more in the morning tomorrow. Luckily, my tutor didn't give me much homework this week.

Wed 29 Aug:

 

I don't want to jinx myself... but... I am straight up killing this training block.

- TNG Bench: Broke my 1RM... twice... singles at 127.5kg AND 130kg.

- Bench with comp pause: Wooo... Broke my 1RM... twice... singles at 117.5kg and 120kg.

- Push Press: 3s up to 65kg.

- Pendlay Row: 5s up to 85kg.

- Comp Squats: 5s at 100kg.

- JM Presses: 8s at 25kg.

 

Conditioning:

- 20 mins of straight-leg DLs and pullups.

 

All the other Stuff:

- Supps: Yup.

- Russian: Nope. Ugh. Was too busy... and I have a lesson tomorrow.

- Hackysacking: Yup.

I've been scratching my head for a decent DEX goal and this fit the bill... I used to be pretty good, but that was 15 years ago... now I'm just a lump that is jumping around lumpily...

- Russian: Nope. Lesson has been re-re-scheduled to Sunday so I have tonight and tomorrow to make words go into my head.

Fri 31 Aug:

 

Training:

Dynamic Lower

 

- Box squats with SSB vs 20kg band tension: 10 doubles at 105kg + bands. Then singles at 125, 135, 145kg (Last week I got up to a single at 160kg but I ust wasn't feeling it today and shut it down. I entered "Blocky's grey tunnel of doom" - ie: my blood pressure was super high and I felt the walls closing in on the heavy squats).

- Speedy Pulls: 12 singles between 120 and 150kg.

- Powercleans: Nope. Just wasn't feeling it.

- Leg Press: Raised my 15RM by 10kg. Ouch.

- Back extensions: 3 x 8 at 20kg.

 

Conditioning:

- OHP, pushups and TRX rows for 16 mins.

 

All the other Stuff:

- Supps: Yup.

- Russian: Still nope.

- Hackysacking: Yup. Still terrible.

Sat 1 Sep:

 

Training:

Repetition Upper

 

- TNG Bench: 5s up to 105kg (kinda a PR - my last recorded 5RM for bench was 104.5kg - I guess it was a while back during one of microloading phases. I'm not counting this because it's pretty much the same).

- Closegrip Bench vs 10kg chains: lost count and did 70kg x 8, 75kg x 5 (oops), 8, 8.

- Seated OHP: 8s at 45kg.

- Pullups with bands: 8s

- Pushdowns and Curls x lots.

 

Conditioning:

- 100 box squats with a 10kg med ball in one loooooong set. 7 mins.

 

All the other Stuff:

- Supps: Yup.

- Russian: Still nope.  Ugh.

- Hackysacking: Yup. Still terrible.

Max Effort Lower

 

- DL vs 10kg chains: I set myself the goal of lifting more than 180kg and ended up with a single at 190kg + chains. Only 10kg under my 1RM.

- Squat vs 10kg chains: 3s at 125kg which for some reason is a PR (I only had 120kg recorded).

- Squat with SSB: 8's up to 70kg.

- Straight Leg Pulls: 8's at 100kg.

- Bench: 6 triples at 95kg.

 

Conditioning:

- KB OHP with 12kg bells and box jumps. 12 mins.

 

All the other Stuff:

- Supps: Yup.

- Russian: Still nope.  Ugh.

- Hackysacking: Yup. Still terrible.

Wed: Bench Day - Max Effort

- Bench vs 12.5kg band tension: New 1RM of 122.5kg + bands (135kg at lockout). That's up 5kg since I last did this variation. I also had a "helper"...

 

- Bench vs 10kg chains: 8's at 85kg.

- Push Pr: 8's up tp 55kg.

- Pendlay Row: 5's at 80kg.

- Comp Squats: 5's up to 95kg.

- JM presses and hammer curls.

 

Conditioning:

Tue:

- 200 KB swings in 15 mins - 20kg bell

 

Wed:

- Rows and pushups - 13 mins

 

All the other Stuff:

- Supps: Yup and yup.

- Russian: YES!!!!!!!! I did a legit 3-4 hours today. I'm counting it as 2 sessions.

- Hackysacking: Nope.

- Fucked around with Powerclean + split jerk

- Leg Press: Bumper up my 15RM to 175kg.

- Back extensions: 3 x 8 at 20kg.

 

Conditioning:

- 1 arm KB clean and press with 12kg KB. 110 reps per side in 18 mins. This was possibly a bad idea considering I have bench press tomorrow.
