let's go with a fun moana beach theme for this challenge which involves a beach wedding and the final days of summer!

 

Challenge goals:

get in 5 workouts per week; 2 of them being weights - i worked in 1 weights day/week last challenge. now it's time for 2 or more.

go on a 5 min walk once per week - at least 5 minutes. i have the time for a walk i just need to do it.

under 1950 weekly calorie average - this is a hard and fast max calories until the wedding. i don't want to be super uncomfortable in my dress. i've got 3 weeks. do i wish i had a bigger dress? yes. can it be altered? no. do i freaking love my dress so much that even if this cut doesn't work i'll wear it? yes.

Normally shouldn't be, you should still be in standard pushup position, which hits shoulders, but not traps. You're not rounding your back or anything, putting yourself in a pike-esque position?

PROBABLY. sunday was a rest day and saturday was a run so I can't think of anything else that might've done it. no weird heavy lifting that i can recall...

didn’t get yoga in and made a kind of terrible dinner of beef and broccoli. it needed a starch or other vegetable and the broccoli got too mushy in the instant pot. it ended up basically a bowl of beef. it is... and it isn't. i'm still doing ~100 reps of scapular retraction daily which definitely helps since i notice it's worse on mondays (when I haven't done the PT over the weekend). but i still have to be careful on upper body days and haven't touched bench or OHP in a long time :(

thanks :)  i needed that. i'm upset it's not the comfy dress i picked out. i am also buying bra strap extenders to use on the clasp in the back where it's tight. my ribbon/belt should be able to hide it! we'll see. if not, i'll just pretend i'm from the late 1800s and ignore the pain for a day.

SO MUCH FUN. extremely talented cast. crazy dancers. much glitter. don't go if you have flash induced epilepsy.

 

it wasn't a musical feel though. i don't know if that is how the new musicals feel these days with shows being made out of artists' popular songs. i want to say they added upwards of 50 new songs (some were just bits of a pop song) which was either too much or not enough. make a real concert/opera feel and dump the script or pare down the pop music references and make it a musical. that being said, i had an absolute blast and would go again.

Got home real late after the show and slept in Saturday morning. had just enough time for grocery shopping before getting ready for our self-guided brewery tour.

all delicious. had a blast but started feeling nauseous by the end of the night, hence some takeout food. given what I consumed the nausea could have been anything.

Sister-in-law’s baby shower. ate a decent (not great) brunch there. stopped at the mall on the way home to exchange some shoes (never do this on a Sunday afternoon)

 

Went home and tried on my rehearsal dinner outfit with new shoes and loved it but it’s not comfortable to sit in so I ordered 4 new things lol I think bride brain has finally hit you guys.

 

SO did most of the meal prep which was a cabbage roll “stew” in the pressure cooker. I had leftover indian for dinner and got to bed on time. and then woke up an hour later to rush to the bathroom. I’ll spare you details but holy shit. Not sure what it was that didn’t sit well. maybe the not great brunch food.

SO had yesterday off bc she works in a state that still gets Victory Day. she got a lot of household chores done which was really nice to come home to.
