sylph
I have no idea what that thing is, yet, and it likely won't be very assassiny (likely more like a warrior or ranger or something), but whatevs. Stretching, cardio, weights, various forms of adulting, in some combination thereof. Likely I will make goals and then fail at them, but in my mind, making the goals is in an of itself some kind of completion. When I stop trying entirely, then I'll have real problems. 2 Quote Link to comment

sylph
Alrighty--about a month away from the forum and I'm feeling pretty ready to get back to some thing. Any thing. A thing. Or several. We'll see how this goes. I have regressed to nearly zero activity and terrible eating habits via combination of euthanizing my cat, No Man's Sky Next and being on vacation for approximately two weeks. Vacation is over, my thumbs hurt terribly, and I can finally think about my sweet mama cat without crying (most of the time). Time to build the fitness/health habit back again and feel better about what my body can do. Move Lift weights Go for a run ...or at least get your 8k steps in for the day Pretty self-explanatory, I think. One of the three of these options every day. Preferably one of the first two, but no problem if all I do is make FitBit happy. Eat & Drink No weeknight alcohol at home. Post work happy hour (once monthly) is okay. I don't know why this continues to be a habit. Begin to consider to think about packing lunch for work. Probably buy some things to make this happen if feeling ambitious. Make dinner (hey--leftovers make great lunches) at least twice during this challenge. Super bonus if it doesn't have pasta in it. I'm pretty complacent with my diet. It's not on the KitKat and Mountain Dew levels of my college years, but it's definitely got room for improvement. Adult Running list of things to be done: Get new car tires Get a car wash (super bonus if this happens more than once this challenge) Deep clean the inside of the car (I should not really still have salt residue on my floormats in August) Finish thing for work project (slightly intentionally vague) Address revisions for previous parts of work project (ditto on vagueness) Weed the front mulch bed I will likely add various other things here simply for the satisfaction of crossing things off a list. 3 Quote Link to comment

sylph
Managed an upper body push workout yesterday--DB bench, OHP and some push ups. Something feels a bit wonky in my right shoulder so I don't want to jump in too hard too fast. 1 Quote Link to comment

sylph
Friday--back workout: rows, rack pulls and such. Saturday--nada. Didn't even get my steps in. No Man's Sky is an endless loop of activity. Sunday--leg workout woo! I expect the DOMS to kick in this evening and tomorrow to be interesting walking. My quads and hams were quivering once I was done so I know I did some work. Then forgot about my no drinks on a school night and had a drink with hubs. Whoops. Today--my parents are in town this week so I'm having lunch with them this afternoon. <3 Should also get a workout in. Upcoming: Tomorrow--plan to go order tires for my car. If that goes reasonably well, I should have time to get in either a workout or a bit on the treadmill. Wednesday--haircut Thursday--some of my favorite work people have invited me to happy hour. I will allow myself one beer and no more. Friday--workout or treadmill Nothing on the 'bringing lunch' or 'making dinner' fronts at this time. 2 Quote Link to comment

The issue is the fact that I dislike cooking, think it's boring and rarely want to do it. Quote Link to comment
sylph
The DOMS is real, friends! I am walking very gingerly today--apparently all my targeting was good; my glutes, hams, quads and calves are all complaining at me today. I tried to get out in front of it by doing a couple easy miles on the treadmill last night, but such is not the case. (or it did do some good and I shudder to think about what today would be like if I hadn't tied to work out of it ahead of time. yeesh) 1 Quote Link to comment

sylph
Got a upper/push workout in yesterday and also ordered tires for my car. They are in as of this morning, so now I just need to find a time to go get them installed. Haircut tonight. And my parents' plans for dinner tomorrow fell through so hubs and I are going to go have dinner with them. That's two days that I'll have to work on getting my steps in, since I'm not going to have time to get a run or a workout in either day. As of now, I'm at 2,300 so I have quite a ways to go before going to bed. Best get on it! 2 Quote Link to comment
