YES!!! GO DO THAT!!

Honestly saldas can be nice (especially in hot weather) and yeah you can make nice ones that are not ''on a diet' salads.

I'm definitely feeling ready to do it.

Yassss salads can be super delicious and awesome and it's great that you're tackling them with so much mindfulness! :) I'm glad you got some well-fitting clothes. Hopefully your check comes soon!!

SAME on all of those. Well fitting clothes have made me feel so much better about myself. And I'm hoping the check comes today. I think it will. I just don't understand why post offices can't just handle local mail locally. All of it gets sent to another city, and then back to the recipient. The closest one to here is like... 1.5-2 hrs away?? It's so dumb.

I dropped hormonal birth control and hey wow 10 pounds, gone.  While it definitely wasn't the one and only reason for losing weight, it sure was holding onto those last stubborn few pounds..... dropping it made a lot of difference in my face shape too, like, way less puffy. If I have to go back on BC at any time it's gotta be non-hormonal at this point, or maybe just have someone take my uterus and sell it on the black market IDEK.

Yeah I would love to not feel like I need to contour my face every time I leave the house because my face is so puffy. But yeah, I'm just... over it. I got this one in like October of 2016, and then my grandfather was sick and went to the hospital and ultimately died that November. He was like a second father to me and definitely raised me almost as much as my parents did when I was but a little tot and I was devastated when we lost him. I thought that contributed to my weight gain (spoiler- it probably did) but then my wedding dress didn't fit and crash diets happened and then after that my weight just... went up? And never seemed to stop aside from when I was a server and was eating like 1.5 real meals in a day because I didn't have time to eat. Part of my problem is that I can't use estrogen. I'm on progesterone, because estrogen gave me aura migraines and I'm not about that blood clot danger. Nope, not me. But luckily, though Mr. Right and I aren't ready for smol humans, there are other things we can use that don't involve a doctor.

Happy first day of the challenge, everyone!

I did a sort-of work out last night were I played Just Dance to give myself some energy. That actually worked better than anticipated! I did get enough energy to finish getting most of the things I needed to finish done.

I'm planning to still get two strength workouts and some semblance of a run in this week depending on the weather but I'm not like.. obsessed with the idea. Today is just work and relaxing and D&D. I'm pretty stoked about it all. It'll be a good day I think. I started work really early- much earlier than usual- so I'll hopefully be done earlier.

Going to handle food as I can since we don't have much in the food department and have to wait for my check to come in to go grocery shopping. Hopefully we can get groceries tomorrow.

***WARNING**** This is a SUPER long post. Like even in just content. There's a TLDR at the bottom if you're not curious. And I apologize in advance for the amount of swearing in this post. I'm overwrought. Also there are many Gifs

Okay so this entire week I've felt like an actual trash panda? Like for real? I think I got like 5 spoons for the whole week and no one told me.

anigif_original-grid-image-16959-1452099

So it's been a HELL of a week. So basically my paper check literally never came in. We think the mail got lost. So my boss was like 'well I'm meeting with you on Wednesday so I'll give it to you then" and I was like 'well ok that's fine." And then he couldn't come out so he sent it via paypal (which was honestly above and beyond the call of duty for sure). And now paypal is giving me shit. Like for real? The transfer is supposed to take 30 minutes. But if the bank has a problem with it, it can take up to a week to let me know???? And they DON"T TELL YOU THIS INFORMATION BEFORE YOU MAKE THE DECISION??? LIke WHAT. It says my transfer went through right now and yet I HAVE NO MONEY. I had to take some money out of the savings account earlier for Reasons (see next paragraph) and I'm just... so pissed. And I used their phone call system and do you know what happened? DO YOU???? A ROBOTIC VOICE READ OUT THE SAME INFORMATION THEY HAD ON THE WEBSITE. WHAT. THE. FUCK. Also, if the bank has an 'issue' with the transaction, Paypal is going to charge me a "return" fee. While I'm literally over here eating MASHED POTATOES FOR AN ENTIRE MEAL THREE DIFFERENT TIMES THIS WEEK. I am BROKE. SO FUCKING BROKE. And they're going to take MORE of my money away. Just thinking about it makes me cry with anxiety and anger. I'm calling the bank tomorrow because Paypal said they can't speed anything up for whatever dumbass reason they wanna give me. But it's the 15th of the month and we've been living off of literally half of our income. I thought that transfer had gone through and we had dinner at 5Guys b/c no food and I double checked the account and we had $2. That's it. This whole situation is wrecking my nerves and I'm so angry I could start throwing shit. This is not the first trouble I've had with Paypal (see: the time I tried to change my bank info and it was salty b/c it had my maiden name and then paypal wanted me to send my DAMN MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE TO THEM. BOI. I WOULDN'T TRUST Y'ALL WITH MY TOENAIL CLIPPINGS. BLESS YOUR LITTLE HEARTS.) . Paypal is a trash service that isn't worth the prestige it has. I think I'm going to figure out what it's connected to so that I can cancel it completely. Can I just start a petition for Elon Musk to take it back? Ebay is destroying it entirely. A pretty site is great but it doesn't make up for a shitty system.

daffy-duck-anger.gif?fit=244,183&ssl=1

This shouldn't soothe me but at least someone gets to break everything in sight

Also, there was also the great Vet debacle. So I called 4 different vets to find someone with an appointment for my kitten because she's been having some diarrhea over the past couple of weeks and I'd determined that it wasn't food related. And last night she threw up a few times. So my brain is thinking worms and my anxiety is thinking that I'm going to have to drop $1400 like the last time I took an animal to the vet. (the answer was worms.) My mom told me not to bother paying them this month ($200 extra, which covers the vet visit twice over, but I promised to get a physical. More on that later). But yeah, no money. Had to transfer out of savings for that. Probably going to have to do that later in the month too. I'm terrified to keep doing that because if I don't see this money I need to pay my bills. Like my electric bill for instance. Since they're useless over there too and banned me from paying with an account because I put my bank number in there wrong and now I have to pay an extra ~2% because I have to use a card.

Me during my approximately 24 hour off and on panic attack

Plus there's my mom. She's a great person to call in an emergency because she understands better than anyone else I could think to call about how anxiety works. She helped me calm down and focus on what I could do. So she really made a difference. But what really was grinding my gears is that she's convinced I don't do jack shit to take care of myself. Like according to her, my anxiety and stress will be better if I work out every day and eat 'well'?? Says the woman on THYROID MEDICINES AND ANTIDEPRESSANTS?? Like for fucking real. I'm trying to learn how to eat in a way to honor my body without causing deprivation. Right now my entire fucking life is about deprivation due to finances. And I CANT FIX THAT. I don't think I'm ready to think to hard about what to eat to be healthy because my brain immediately starts polarizing when I do that and that's no good. But I'm a damn softie and I don't see any point in telling her that her words make it worse because 1) it'll just make her sad without actually changing anything and 2) my mom will stop talking to me at all and my dad will be pissed at me for daring to criticize her at all because OBVIOUSLY SHE IS THE FUCKING FINAL FOUNT OF ALL FUCKING KNOWLEDGE. And honestly I really don't think it's worth the fight with my family right now.

I kinda need her on my team b/c I'm not entirely 100% positive that my husband really understands that I can't just fix my anxiety and other issues. Mental health isn't really something he's learned a lot about at home and while we've moved beyond him being angry that I was on antidepressants (because they're supposedly extremely unsafe from what he saw?? this was also like 5 or 6 years ago so much maturity and growth has happened on both of our parts before anyone gets angry at him about it), I'm not entirely convinced that he really gets how awful things can be for me. His tactic for life is just to ignore anything that's wrong and hope it goes away and sometimes that's probably not a bad idea but it doesn't always play well with my "obsessively think about it and talk about until it's solved or I'm in such a state that I'm crying or something" ideas. Because I'm insistent that we're going to starve or the power is gonna get cut or something and he's insisting that 'obviously everything will be fine if we let it sort itself out.' But that's letting go of control and Um.. no? I have little enough as is. Letting go of control over my body is hard enough. I'll just keep using my anxiety and compulsive cleaning as semi acceptable coping mechanisms.

Yeah that's been my week. My anxiety has been through the roof and I'm back to taking melatonin to sleep at all so that's just LOVELY.

tumblr_oh9xx4P1RU1uljtydo1_500.gif

YES THIS EXACTLY THIS

Also I'm feeling kinda sad of my loss of my upswing. Mr. Right and I were on a mood upswing at the same time for a few days and I miss us both being quietly happy together all the time. But I also can't just magic my anxiety away and it makes me sad. For a few days it felt like everything was right. Not perfect, but we were okay on money, we were both happy, the anxiety monster didn't have me in its cage again.

tumblr_loebqpm81c1qi9fce.gif?w=365&h=152

This is kinda how I imagine it tbh

Tonight, I'm going to wrap this up and then go to bed and get some rest. I feel like the thing a dog finds at the bottom of a trash can and brings inside to the not-so-delight of his owner.

amanchu.gif

Thanks friend Shaar for this lovely GIF because it's my actual life.

TLDR: I'm broke AF and anxious AF and life low key sucks at the moment

I'm so sorry to hear that it's been so difficult...! I can't help you financially, but I wish you to know that your struggle is valid, and sometimes you just can't do everything in "a perfect manner" to keep yourself OK. It's not easy to have mental health issues and taking care of as many things as you are currently taking care of - you're doing amazing, friend. There's gonna be a calm, soft day when your mind is at peace again. Keep fighting for that <3

I was hoping today was going to be the calm soft day with extra sleep until I was woken up by my husband projectile vomiting so that was a freaking LOVELY alarm clock.

FIXED THE MONEY ISSUE GUYS. Called the bank this morning and straightened it out. They made it so I got the money immediately and I'm so pleased. I needed that so badly I can't even explain it. I'm going to get myself ready for the day and then I'm going to get groceries and a bit of lunch (the Aldi has a ChickFilA food truck permanently parked in their lot so I'll start there and then get mah groceries). Gotta do work stuff this evening and also I have practice to play keyboard at church on Sunday (squeeee!). Despite the frankly awful wakeup call, I think it'll be a better day. I was going to work out today too but I just don't have time. I'll do it Friday sometime. I need to get my strength workouts happening again so that I can start building back up. But with as few spoons and many issues as I've had recently I haven't been able to do much. *sigh* But oh well. I'll get there. I feel much more encouraged today with my cat feeling better and my money situation under control.

PAYPAL IS INFURIATING.  Oh my gosh.  Reading that made my blood boil.  I've actually started using Venmo for my contract work and it takes 2-3 days max for the money to drop into your bank account, but it's free transfers and I've never had a hassle.  (I'm unfamiliar with if there's a premium version, i.e. pay a small fee and you'll have instant transfers, but Paypal's gotten my goat enough times that I just don't wanna give them my business anymore yeah???)

This, stuff, this is what gets me.  I read a -really- good article the other week about how hard it is to be poor, and how the poor stay poor because of bullshit practices like this (that are everywhere) and it's just... capitalism is infuriating and I won't get on that soapbox here, but people don't understand how you just can't pull yourself out of a hole because of examples just like this.

My bank charges me a $12 "maintenance" fee because I don't keep my balance above a certain random 4-digit number and it's like....???  Why are you charging me $12 because I'm poor?  Shouldn't it cost MORE to maintain a larger account than my measly transactions???  It's bullshit and it just propagates the cycle of being broke and I hate it.

I'm SO glad the money situation has cleared up; it's amazing (and terrifying) how much stress/anxiety/etc money can do to a person.  I hope today is WAY better for you!!! <333

Reading this I am so glad my country is not allowed to use it yet. Payoneer might be a 15$ flat fee but heck they haven't screwed me over yet.

You had a lot on your plate, I'm so glad that it's getting a bit better.

I'd suggest waiting for everything to calm down (and it will, not to worry) and for you to not be anxious so you could talk to your husband about it. I've never lived with someone that has that different of an approach when it comes to problems, and maybe just even saying 'I feel like this and my brain's version of chronic back pain is making it worse' (yes that is how I view anxiety at times) will help.

The biggest feel.

I love Venmo. Usually I just get paper checks but with mine being lost in the mail, boss didn't want me to have to wait an undetermined amount of time to get it. Paypal was also a struggle when Mr. Right and I got our joint account. I went to swap out my account and it failed because my name was wrong. To change my name in PAYPAL, I needed to send them my marriage license. Among other things. Like... no. I'm not mailing out my marriage certificate to a random company. I didn't even like mailing my birth certificate to my United States gov't to get a passport.

Yeah it's insane. I will say that local credit unions are a lot better about stuff like that. My credit union basically told me this morning "hey, your transaction has to be processed normally but what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and credit you the money now and when your original request goes through we'll just remove the second identical deposit."  And also no weird fees unless my savings account has less than $5 in it. That's the only limit.

My mom and I have always had a complicated relationship. That's part of why I refuse to move back anywhere near my family, I don't really want to go through dealing with that drama (among other things, there are many many reasons I don't want to go back there).

YOU AND ME BOTH. My fridge and cabinets are now nicely filled with fresh groceries and I had chickfila for lunch and my soul is soothed.

Yeah I'm ready to just now.

We've talked it through before, I just right now feel like my mom understands what my brain is doing a little bit better than he does. We've got most of that situation straightened out though.

I got flavored vinegar from a flavored olive oil and vinegar shop ages ago and this one is somehow REALLY sweet! But in a non-weird way. But yeah, I really liked it but it didn't stick with me too long. Tomorrow I'm going to try more protein.

Hellooooooo everyone!

As far as life is concerned, things are calming down and looking up. It's really great! I'm feeling a lot more relaxed overall the past couple of days.

I did take this week off from working out. I just didn't have enough mental or emotional energy so I didn't force myself. Honestly I'm glad I didn't force myself to work out this week because our food situation was such that it wasn't conducive to me doing extra things. But now we have delicious good food. And I'm going to work out Monday night getting back into the swing of things.

I think I'm finally getting myself into a position where I'm not feeling so burned out anymore. I've made a point to sleep enough and take time to do non-work things in the middle of the day, which has helped as well. I did take my time and will have to do some work stuff on this lovely Saturday, but Mr. Right and I are also going to watch Deadpool 2 and (weather permitting) go to a baseball game at the stadium down the street. Also we're having sausages for dinner! Like spicy italian ones. yum!

Have a great day everyone!

That helps a lot. I'm not good at stuff like this but I need to be. So glad things are looking up.

I'm not always good at it honestly. But I think burnout and emotional issues contributed partially to what happened with my last job so I prioritize it a little better now.

Hi guys!

I'm exhausted. I woke up at 4:45am to be at church to help with setup at 6:30 because I got to play keys! We did a lot with money spending this weekend but we're still pretty okay. I also promised my mom I'd make an appointment to get a physical so I'm going to call them and the water bill people tomorrow.

Laundry didn't get done until today, but I'm okay with that because I actually did it. I'm probably going to fold on Tuesday. Tomorrow I'd like to work out after the husband leaves for work and also I might have DnD (though Monday DnD is not the best day for me just because life).

Salads are difficult. My salads are delicious but not very filling. Now I remember why I stopped eating them. They never filled me up no matter what I did. Now I'm just like... well? IDK. I'm running dry on lunch ideas but I don't really want to eat sandwiches.

Could you find some inspiration from Youtube videos or such? This video has some nice ideas that you could use :D

You're my hero. What I learned from that is that my salads aren't big enough >_> I'll try a few other things this week and see what I can come up with to help my salads out even more. The biggest thing I'm seeing is that my salad isn't big enough. Taste wise, they've been delicious. But I'm hungry again in less than two hours. So gotta find something to help with that!

Aside from the fact that I can't eat chickpeas :( I'm definitely interested in trying adding some of those things to my salad! I might try kale, I've never had it before. And maybe adding spinach to my salad would be tasty. I've already got chicken, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, peas, cheese, bacon bits, and fresh chopped green onions. Also pre-chopping the lettuce might help as well!

Make sure you add lots of protein to keep you full through the day!  I lot of times if I get hungry after a salad it's 'cause it was mostly just veggies.... I'm a huge fan of tossing in some chopped lunchmeat and hard boiled eggs to bulk it up a little.  (Or grilled chicken if that's an option.)  Eggs, meat, bacon, some good cheese too...

I'm going to start adding eggs as well! I think boiled egg (as well as the chicken, cheese, and bacon) will really help :D

See, Ive never really added these to the salad because I almost always add vinegar in every salad I make and it confuses me. :D

I add vinegar to mine but it's flavored vinegar so the flavors work together well xD

Hi everyone! Yesterday ended up being a pretty decent day aside from some drama with my power bill (long story short- I put my account number in wrong the first time I tried to pay something and because it bounced I can't pay with my account anymore and now have to pay a credit card fee each month) and spending 2 hours trying to find a doctor's appt (I have a physical on the 31st, my first one in years!). But overall the day was good. I worked out, which felt great. The break did me good because I was still able to progress on schedule even though it's been like 2 weeks since I worked out.

This morning I'm going to go grocery shopping so I'm off to get ready for the day (and clean this scratch from when the kitten fell off my lap >_>)

Hi you guyz!

latest?cb=20160617235550

It's been a couple days. I didn't work out yesterday like I wanted to, but that's okay. I was feeling really down and blue yesterday and I didn't really feel like a workout. I'll do one today. I'm actually kind of excited?? I got the fabfitfun box (lifestyle subscription box every season for like $50 with at least $200 worth of stuff in it, I've wanted one for like 2 years) and I didn't realize they have videos and such. They have a TON of dance based cardio workouts! Otherwise known as "how I'm adding cardio in without murdering myself running."

Also I'm stoked because I'm getting a french press in my box and !!!!!!!!!! I've never done french press before but it's time that I enjoy coffee in a new way. Any french press gurus with suggestions would be great. It's this: https://alfred.la/products/alfred-coffee-french-press

So it's pretty too ^_^

But yeah, that box is coming sometime in late September and I'm soooo ready! I'm also getting bluetooth headphones as well. Which will be very timely since hopefully I'll be getting a gym membership in October!

Back to work for me for now, I'll chat with you lovely people later <3

Here's how you make awesome French Press coffee.

Figure out your coffee to water ratio ahead of time. If you have a grinder, grind the beans right before you use them. Use a coarse grind. If you have ground beans disregard that step, try and buy coarse grounds.

Put the grounds in the bottom of the French Press.

Pour in just enough boiling water to wet the beans and let them sit for 1 minute. This allows the flavors to bloom and what makes it worth using the French Press.

After that minute is up, pour in boiling water and let it sit 3 minutes. After that three minutes is up, then you press down with the screen. Just let the weight of your hand and gravity do the work. If it's stiff, use light pressure and move it down slowly.

Pour and enjoy.

There will be a little bit of sediment in the bottom of your cup when you are done. This is a combination of oils and tiny particles that got through the screen, that's normal.
