Unlike wizards, I can be early or late. And I'm late. My bad.

 

But I'm here! And that's half the battle, right? I've let the last few challenges really slip. The most recent slipped because I got overwhelmed in the flood of things to do for the move, plus all the emotional baggage that follows uprooting with family in tow to move 3,000 miles away. *gulp* 

 

I'm here in Cambridge now, and while things aren't exactly easy, the fam and I are starting to get our bearings. I start law school in two-ish weeks, and I want desperately to be on my way to decent habits before classes start. (My son starts 1st grade at his new school the same day I do, so it'll be a momentous change when it happens.) Fortunately, relocating has had some advantages. First, I'm out of my office environment now, so a lot of the junk food temptation is gone for the time being. Second, I have a little more flexibility in my schedule to get in exercise. Third, I'm out of the treacherous desert heat and it's a few months until the cold sets it.  I actually went on a run after 5 AM this week.

 

Looking to capitalize on these things while avoiding over-ambitious goal-setting, here are my goals:

 

Running: 3x/week, any distance

 

Bodyweight training: 2x/week, GMB beginner bodyweight routine

 

Food: 6 servings fruits or veggies/day

 

Personal: Read or write 20 minutes/day

Day 1: Sun, 8.19.18

Running: None

BW Training: None

Fruits/Veg: 6 servings

Reading/Writing: 20+ mins, mix of Moby Dick and The Adventure Zone graphic novel

 

Day 2: Mon, 8.20.18

Running: 2 miles, held around a 9 min mile, which is faster than normal for me. Gorgeous day for a run, too. Found a nice route down to the Charles River, which is just prime.

BW Training: None

Fruits/Veg:5 servings

Reading/Writing: 20+ mins of Moby Dick

Day 4: Wed, 8.22.18

Running: None

BW Training: No

Fruits/Veg: 2

Reading/Writing: 20 mins Moby Dick

Reading: None

Reading: 4/7

 

Not a bad start. Eating continues to be my weakness.
