2020 - Part 3: Warrior Finish

7:00am - Coffee

10:00am - PBJ Sandwich, protein shake, 

2:00pm - Chicken tenders, potatoes, green beans, fried okra

3:00pm - Coffee 

6:00pm - Fish tacos 

 

Fitness: 

Lifting - Legs

 

Notes:

Another morning up early, very promising for taking medication earlier. Things are going pretty good at work as well. Had a big presentation today and aside from a few minor hiccups all went well. Lifts continue to increase so happy about that too. Ready for a restful weekend.

Notes:

So very ready for this new year! Have my fitness in a repeatable routine now, so just working on diet (which due to high cholesterol on a recent test I need to pay extra attention to). Work continues, got caught up today and ready to get back into that routine as well.

Notes:

Still struggling with some sleep issues related to my medication. Going to try some supplements to help me sleep better and hopefully that will help. Also trying to eat a little closer to bed time so I don’t wake up hungry in the middle of the night. The tweaking continues.

Notes:

Supplements were a bust... The L-Theanine I took gave me a really unsettling sensation of falling then gave me muscle twitches around 1am when it was wearing off. Finally got to sleep around 3am. Ugh, can’t wait to get this sleep study and figure out what’s going on with me.

Notes:

Back to taking meds to sleep. Not a fan but no other choice right now. Hopefully tonight will go better.

Notes:

Took sleep meds and ended up back to sleeping 12 hours. So crazy that I’m sleeping this much. Guess it’s up to the doctors and sleep study but I guess it’s better to have too much sleep rather than too little.

Rolling with the whole sleep issue and plan to go to bed around 8am to hopefully get up 7am.

 

Ready to make a change around my diet as well. I think I eat okay so really going to focus on portion control.

So far doing pretty good on the half portions (except for breakfast today) will see if it shows on the scales.

 

Made a “Buddha Bowl” vegetarian dinner tonight. Tried my hand at fried tofu, jury’s out on how healthy it is but sure is tasty:

Trying a different tack on the sleep issue. I noticed I keep waking up at 3-4 hour intervals including usually waking up around 5am. Instead of going back to sleep and struggling to get another two hours, barely waking up, I think I’ll go with it and just stay up. Will report tomorrow on how that works. May be able to get in some early gym time.

Notes:

Waking up early didn’t happen. Guess will keep on doing my best until the sleep study.

 

Almost out of the 240’s, will be good to officially be ten pounds down if the weight loss continues.

Notes:

Diet went off the rails the last couple of days ate heavy on Friday/Saturday and it shows on the scale. Was able to get back on track last night and will try the same today. Have to take a little break from cardio due to a running injury so looks like it’s just weights this week. Trying not to be to down about that, just patient and watch what I’m eating.

Notes:

Weight is back on track, now to keep it on track. Still recovering from my running injury, so no cardio this week. Have to really watch my calorie intake on my rest days. Also talking to my psychiatrist today about getting off another medication that I think may be the culprit behind my sleep issues. 

 

Was supposed to do a home sleep study tonight but found out it was going to cost some crazy amount, which we just can’t afford. Something to do with our deductible for the year not being met, still for us that’s just a ludicrous amount of money for something that could possibly be solved by a medication change for significantly less. Finished the day with more insurance challenges for the medication I’m tapering down on. Ugh. At least tomorrow I start a lowered medication amount and should hopefully get a little better sleep.

 

Looking forward to the weekend already. Meeting up with some friends at a Korean BBQ place and coffee after on Saturday so that should be fun. Need something to look forward to in light of all this medical stuff.

Day one of a two week decrease on some medication. Really don’t want to wait the two weeks but doctors orders. Trying to be mindful of my new state of mind and not be too snappy at people.
