PACT Plan Challenge 5

I'm continuing my plan to Put Away Childish Things (PACT) which you can read more about here.

 

My 29th birthday is this month! This date also happens to be my first checkpoint in my PACT plan, which consists of some changes I want to make before I turn 30 next year. My checkpoint reads as follows:

 

I follow my calorie goal and limit my sugar intake. I go to bed and arise early and have daily meaningful prayer and scripture study. I use people’s names and do something around the house each day.

 

My goals the past few challenges have been leading me to this point, and for the most part I feel like I have made good steps in this direction. My problem has been consistency, especially in sticking to my calorie goal. I don't know why I've found it so hard, but it's an important one as to be on track with my weight goal, I really need to start losing more each week.  So the watchword of this challenge is consistency.

 

No theme this challenge, but I've enjoyed all the Nike memes coming up with the whole Kaepernick controversy. So whoever posts the funniest one (without getting political) gets bonus points.

I just realized I forgot to post for yesterday! Both yesterday and today have been good. Doing the things! Someone at work offered me a sugary thing Monday and I didn't feel in a position to refuse it. Wasn't ideal, but I stayed within calories the rest of the day still.

Soooo tired today. Had to wake up early after another night of baby screaming for no apparent reason :hororr:. I did the things though.

I'm really glad those days are over for us. Lots of new and more important problems always come up, but I handle things a lot better when I have had enough rest

It was a close one today. And if I'm honest, I did eat some cashews that I didn't track. But I didn't go to town on them, and I didn't have any other issues. So I might be slightly over my goal, but I'm still going to count it as a win based on how I'm feeling. It's been a good week, and I'm actually looking forward to checking the scale tomorrow. Even if it's not what I expect, I promised myself at least 2 weeks of strict following muy goals before I make any changes, so I won't worry about it to much.

Success!! I lost 4lbs since last week! That was even better than I was hoping for!! Apparently when you actually follow the plan good things happen. Go figure. I'm hoping the mini will encourage me to do more exercise too, but that'll definitely be a secondary goal.

Today was alright. Had dessert again, which isn't ideal so early in the week, but worth it  for apple crisp. One left for the rest of the week, so hopefully wife doesn't go a baking again.

The lunch was ok today, well within my calorie goal, but it wasn't near as filling as I would have thought. As such I ate more than I should have at dinner. Not a ton more, but enough for me not to be able to count today as a success. On the plus side, I was tempted to just write it off as a loss and have a bowl of ice cream too, but I remembered that this challenge is about results, not just marking down what I did or didn't do, so I talked myself down, which was really good. I also found out today that my wife is doing my birthday dinner a bit early, so we're going out on Saturday. I don't want to ruin everything just for my birthday, but I also want to enjoy myself, so I'm thinking the dinner and dessert won't count against me, as long as I make good choices earlier in the day.

As long as the exceptions don't become the rule, that sounds like a plan. Happy early birthday.

That's always the kicker. I'll have to be careful, because that means on my actual birthday she'll probably get cake etc too, and I don't want this to turn into a week long feeding frenzy.

Today was also kind of borderline. Ended up going out for dinner with the family, and from my rough estimates at calories I did ok, but I feel way more full than I probably should, so I'm worried I'm off. I'll count it, but I'm not expecting this week to end up to great.
