Continuing the Rebellion, Part 2

I'm continuing my quest to lose weight by the end of the year and am adding "getting strong" to my fitness goals.  I'm close to my initial goal of losing 7.4 kg, but as autumn arrives and the cold weather returns, I know that the hard work is about to begin. So, I will continue to

  • measure portions
  • eat greens everyday
  • eat mindfully, i.e. at the dining table (and only at the table)
  • row 3 days on/1 off per week (upping the damper to 5)
  • bodyweight training 3x per week
  • walk at least 20 minutes per day
  • practice ukulele 45 minutes per day

Crap, I have no access to cardio equipment for the rest of this challenge. Going to substitute with an extra 20 minute walk per day & add my meditation practice (30 minutes) to the mix.

Hi fleaball, thanks for asking. I was doing okay the first few days that I was away, but I had no control over portion sizes, was unable to eat greens (or any vegetables on some days) while staying with family, and even though I insisted at eating my meals at the table, there were always snacks in the livingroom. Then I stopped going for my daily walks. I did the bodyweight exercises, but rather than try to level up I was satisfied with the bare minimum. The only things I maintained were my meditation and ukulele practices.

 

On a positive note, I have access to cardio equipment this week, and am looking forward to getting back on the rowing machine.

Sounds like you did what you could. Being in a different environment is such a pain when you’re trying to establish new habits.  Keep up the good work!
