Mera
Week 3, Day 2 I can't believe how time is flying by. It's already week 3 and I haven't even posted my week 2 summary yet. my my. So about week 2: Running: 4 times. awesome. Kettlebell once. check. Meditation. 0. *hangs head in shame* Reducing the running from 6 to 4 times a week has helped massively. I also realised that my "5K expert" training program quickly went up to running 7k, then 8k, then 10k. Ah thanks but no thanks. That's for next challenge maybe. So I'm going 4 times a week, 30 mins or around 3K each time. The new shoes are also amazing, my knee feels a lot better. My feet still hurt, but I think that'll pass. I also dug out my husband's blackroll and went ahead and rolled around on the tight spots in my legs. They felt much better afterwards, so I'll try to do more rolling and more stretching. Turns out everyone's favourite Yoga instructor Adriene also has a post run routine. Guess I just have to admit that these stiff legs of mine need better taking care of So far this week, I've gone for a run. I think I'm doing pretty well on the Triangle as well. It only gets harder when I go out to eat with friends or work. But I try to remember to order my drink without a straw and opt for the vegetarian option wherever possible. I think I need some sort of boss fight for the end of this challenge. I'll have a ponder about what that could be. I'm thinking a 6,5k run maybe (as the furthest I've ever run is 6K). Or maybe go try a trail run... 1 Quote Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment

I discovered last week that Adriene has an entire "Yoga for the Feet" video! It's like she read my mind. All these stupid aches and pains are way better when I stop and take the time to stretch, etc. I still have some foot pain, but it's not as unrelenting as it was a month ago. I hope the roller and stretching helps your legs! 1 Quote "Believe that a further shore is reachable from here." --Seamus Heaney My character sheet Link to comment
Harriet
Ooh, I overlooked your week 2 somehow. Did the running go well for week 3, too? Mera
Oh man, almost a week radio silence. For shame. My week 3 went really well. Running 4 times, check. On Saturday I bought one of those hands free belt running leashes for the little 4 legged running partner and it is AWESOME. Went for a run on Sunday together and did the best speed we've ever had (since we started running 3 weeks ago that is). We did 8'39" / km over 3,72km. Our very first run was 13'10" / km over 3,35km. I'd call that progress! Meditation twice, I'm glad to report a big fat CHECK on that too! But something had to give, which was the kettlebell. I just totally forgot about it. Triangle is going strong, although I cooked a lot less and ate out more. Even though I made triangle friendly choices, it just ends up being less healthy than a home cooked vegetarian meal... Week 4 has started with an off day yesterday, and we just came back from a run. I think I'll attempt my boss battle 7K run on Saturday. I just need to find a nice route. 2 Quote Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment
