guest358540
Hey! First timer here, I stumbled across Nerd Fitness while looking for some bodyweighr exercises and the whole approach just resonated with me. I basically inhaled the site, the emails and the Level Up book as quickly as possible and now have got my first Challenge within my sights. So about me...I’m a huge underpants collector, always looking for a new idea, new approach, trying something different. But I’ve realised I need to just, well, start. So here I am! I’m a mum of a curious and active 1 year old girl, I quit my job to be a stay at home Mum, which has been quite a shift emotionally and mentally for me. I will be retraining to a different field in a year or so, so there is a huge quest looming. However my current quest is to lose weight and get in shape so I can keep up with my daughter and be a good role model to her, to make healthy choices and have a positive body image (not hide in the kitchen sneaking biscuits!). So, my goals for this challenge are: Record all food and drink I’m pretty bad at going all out in the first few days, failing spectacularly and then going into denial by not tracking my food. I hate to put in all the rubbish I’ve eaten and see it in black and white. But I need to be more accountable and just because I don’t write it down, doesn’t mean my waist doesn’t feel it! So tracking, good bad and ugly. Aim to hit 10k steps a day I walk everywhere with the buggy and usually clock up around 7-12k a day so this is just to give me a push if I’m feeling slack or the weather is bad. It also helps my mental health to walk, and be outside. Living in a concrete jungle isn’t great but I try to get to the park to get some time in nature too. Eat veggies with weekday lunch and dinner. Weekdays I have more control over as it’s just me, so the plan is to make sure I have a veggie or two with my meals as they’re filling and food for me. Write down things I’m grateful for in a Gratitude app every day. Helping me to focus on the positives, no matter how small to reframe my day. Being alone with a tiny person demanding loudly quite a lot of the time is tough and simple things like having a chat with a neighbour or getting 10 mins for a cuppa are something I need to savour more. So that’s me! I’ll check in to update on progress and any challenges or wins I’ve had 3 Quote Link to comment
