Terah - Finding the beat

Monday - Tuesday

My asthma was giving me trouble again. I've been off medication for about 5 years, but sometimes it flares up again. I had cut out eggs of my diet, as they are usually the ones that trigger it. It got a little better, but not a lot. I already drank no milk (I don't like the taste and it triggers asthma), so I started taking out nuts to see if it got better. I love nuts and nut butters, so that wasn't fun. And it didn't help one bit.

Then I remembered: when I did intermittent fasting my asthma got way better. So I've introduced IF again: I eat a large lunch and a large dinner and nothing else (by my estimation I get around 1800/2000 kcal, which is a good amount for me). I started yesterday and I feel my lungs clear up already :)

After my last post I also introduced yoga*. I do a short session right when I wake up. It feels great, and I hadn't realized how tight my shoulders were, they feel so much better now!

Also I've been contacted by a wholesale company that wants to buy the products I make! We're in the final stages of the negotiations and it's looking really good. I'm so excited!

Zumba and dancehall class tonight, I'm looking forward to it!

*Not a euphemism :p

Huh, pretty interesting that IF helps with your asthma! Let's hope it keeps getting better. And thank goodness you can still have peanut butter :D

Congrats, that sounds really exciting! :love_heart: Would they buy products from you in the future, or would they start manufacturing items based on your designs...?

Well actually, I can't. Not in the house at least. A is highly allergic to it, so we're keeping it as far away from him as we can. BUT I've got a new addiction to cashew butter. Soooo good *drool*

Thanks! They'll buy stuff that I made. They're all about handmade items and sustainability, which means we're a perfect match :)

Oh no, I forgot about A's allergy! Or, I actually just thought about peanuts causing allergy, but not peanut butter... My brain no work well today, OK? :DD Cashew butter is delicious, too! :love_heart:

Ohh that sounds like a really good deal! Sounds like it's your cup of tea, for sure :) Have you collaborated with a company before?

Wednesday

More emailing between me and the wholesale company, lots of playing with the boys (me and J crushed A in the game stratego).

I also made some pumpkin soup for lunch time. Unfortunately the boys like it too, less for me :(  :p ;)

I went to urban fit and yoga class and I CRUSHED IT. Being able to breathe more deeply really helps during exercise :D

The fasting also feels really good. I feel empty during the morning, but not hungry if that makes sense. And I have tons of energy. The only thing is that the big meals are making me gassy. But I'm sure my body will adapt to that in time.

I am amazed at how well IF works for you. I love that it works for you. Breathing is awesome!!

AND YAY! Congrats on your impending contract and success!! WOO!!!

IF did work for a few days, bit Friday I woke up hungry. Stubborn as I am, I pushed past it. But Saturday I was hungry again in the morning, so I decided to have breakfast.

My asthma hasn't flared up again, so maybe those few days were all I needed :)

I'm working on their first order now! I hope they'll like it *fingers crossed*

Thursday

I've been working hard to get that first order finished. I'm almost done and will send it to the wholesale company tomorrow.

I've been listening to the audio book "intuitive eating" and I'm starting to remember how it works. I think it's the path for me now. I've been in the restriction/binge cycle for too long, now I'm going to break free :D

I skipped zumba and dancehall class today. It's raining cats a d dogs, and it's a 15 minute bike ride from here. Also sharks have arrived and I wanted to work some more since I don't have a lot of time tomorrow. I miss it whenever I don't go, but I feel like it was the right decision for today.

Wednesday

I managed to finish the order before I had to go do my work as a class chaperone! I had everything in nice looking packages and wanted to print out the label when my printer decided to do origami with the label instead of printing it out. I couldn't get it out :(

But I packed up everything and when the boys were at their sports club that afternoon I went to the library next to that and managed to print it there *sigh of relieve* and could deliver the package to the post office (which is in a sewing shop, the irony :p ) and get back in time to see my boys have fun at their sports club.

After that we went to the library together to find some books for them to read, and off we went to the J's speech therapy.

When we got home I  was so tired and wanted to order in. But I sucked it up and made dinner anyway.

The rest of the evening I lay on the couch watching netflix. It was glorious :D

Thursday

Sharks were really mean. So I decided that I would order in today while drifting away on a cloud of painkillers :p

(Don't worry, I don't have the strong stuff and I don't take more than recommended, but I do react strongly to those meds)

I've been working on Intuitive Eating in this group Ensi created:

It's really helping me to break free of the eternal diet cycle I've been in for so long. Come on by and take a look if you're interested :)

Wednesday

No more pain, but I took it slow and skipped urban fit and yoga class.

Thursday - Friday

Not much to report.

Saturday

I went shopping with my mom. She spoiled me silly, treated me to lovely food and I got new clothes I love (I usually buy new clothes second hand or from China, so it's really nice to have some high quality new clothes <3 ).

We went to Den Bosh, which is a 30 minute train ride from home. As you know I get motion sick really quickly, but those 30 minutes are manageable. The ride to this city went smoothly, but the ride back was hell. A train broke the power lines and we had to take a detour. First we stood on a freezing train station for an hour, and then we had to take 3(!) different trains to get me home. It took 1,5 hours. Which is waaaay too long for me to be in a train. When I heard this I totally panicked, but luckily my mom agreed to take me all the way home. And my dad agreed to pick her up at my home so she didn't have to ride the train back to her home.

Sunday

I was still sick from the train ride the day before. I had some good moments in which I could play with the boys. But most of the day was spent on the couch or in bed. Bright side: I did finish watching the 3rd season of Daredevil :D

Monday

I felt a lot better and resumed my normal schedule. I did get a little sick at the end of the afternoon, but it didn't last long. I focused on eating intuitively and tried to listen to my body as much as possible in terms of movement.

Tuesday

My zumba teacher got sick, so no classes this week :(:(:(

I compensated by making cookies :)

Wednesday

A great and busy day. I was truely eating intuitively and I was surprised by the feeling of satisfaction after having eaten some stuff that weren't the healthiest choices. Usually I would overdo it on stuff like that because of the feeling that I would never allow myself to have them again. But today I stopped when I was satisfied, not full :)

Thursday

Which is today, and it's only morning :D

For some reason I felt terrible about myself this morning. I felt too fat, and I got it i to my head that I needed to fast for a long time to cure this.

I realized that this wasn't healthy thinking so I started watching Jen Brett on YouTube. If you don't follow here, do it now! She's amazing. The video that helped my got out of this mindset was this one:

Thursday Part 2

I felt a little better, but I still felt bad about my body and about food in general. This caused me to eat too much food that I always labeled as "bad". I felt like I couldn't stop after just one stroopwafel for example, even though I wasn't hungry or anything. I just wanted to eat my feelings.

I ended the day with a short yoga practice (I love yoga with Adrien!) which made me sleep really good. And this morning I woke up happy again. No idea what was wrong yesterday, but whatever it was, it's gone now :)
