I got into a pretty good headspace though with plenty of outdoor time and mindful chill time. This challenge however is about getting shit done and taking action on some of the things that have been on my ignored epic quest list for the longest time! ||| Physical ||| I've been using my elbow injury as a poor excuse to not train much lately, even though I could've done plenty enough really. Honestly I've just been enjoying all the down time and feeling recovered since I'm not climbing 4 times a week. But now I'm itching to get back to it properly! Because of my elbow I'll have to go a bit free form, but you can expect to see the usual - climbing, handstands, backbends, rings and pole/floor flow. Deliverable: Do all 22 6 minute floor flow sessions at least once Experiments: Time box one hour for training in the morning, unless I go swimming Gratitude meditation/get psyched before training |||| Creative ||| I used to love to draw but I don't know how to art anymore and I want to relearn. Using baby steps so I don't rage quite because I suck. Deliverable: Complete all anatomy sketch exercises from my workbook Experiment: Doodle on longer public transport trips instead of reading/dicking around on my phone ||| Mental/Eating ||| I talked a little about my somewhat disordered relationship with food at the end of my last challenge. This challenge I'm going to take some first steps to fix it. The steps are all about enjoying food, making it plentiful and avoiding the biggest binge habit trigger, in a very roundabout way in order to not make it feel like I'm restricting. Deliverable: 10 new recipes from my cookbooks Experiments: No grocery shopping straight after work (when poor choices are made) Batch cook on Tuesday/Thursday (remote working days) New challenge wheeeeeee! 7 Quote Link to comment

I'm not even sure why, I'd just rather show off polished work that I'm proud of. Which realistically might never happen so maybe it'd be good for me. The workbook is from Sketch Workshop - it's basically a drawing pad with a bunch of pre-drawn templates to get you started. I had a Guitar Hero controller with tissue paper flames coming out the top blown by a fan. 2. I don't know if you get Ultimate Beastmaster on your Netflix there, but episode 1 of the latest season has a male Korean pole dancer who has some very impressive moves. I'll one up you one - a friend of mine played a guitar solo on top of an art car at Burning Man, as we rolled into the Thunderdome arena. It was epic. Wish I had it on film. Mad Hatter Posted October 16, 2018 Author Report Share Posted October 16, 2018 Alright. Screwed up my morning training by getting distracted by drawing (a few exercises + a freehand sketch). Oops. Win some lose some. I even started warming up, did some jump rope, did a little pole flow, and one of the six minute sessions and that's when I realised I should be working already. This was the man that got me dancing this morning: The rest of the day ended up weird - I spent way, way too many hours in a row in front of the computer, until at some point I completely spaced out. Like I was reviewing some code and was convinced some lines had been changed when they hadn't, which I didn't realise until it was too late. I was barely even working so it's not like I was even in a coding flow, it was just weird. So I said screw it early, went for a much needed long walk and felt quite a bit better afterwards. Except that I then misplaced my sausages and spent oh I don't know 15-20 minutes before I found them... in the kitchen drawer. I don't even. Luckily that wasn't my actual dinner, I made mejadra, new recipe #1, which turned out rather yummy. I mean come on, fried onion, duh. Flow 1/22 Recipes 1/10 Drawing, umm more than before. Yay for returning to drawing! I loved drawing when I was younger and did it all the time, but I fell away from it once I got to university. A couple years ago I took an art class to rediscover my love for it, and it was a great experience. The most valuable aspect of the class was that it prompted me to sit down and draw for 20-30 minutes a few times a week, just got me into the habit of making time for it. And some of the assignments were interesting. I'm not very good but I really do enjoy it and it makes me feel more like myself when I draw. I don't have many things scanned but here are a couple assignments from the class. If I can post mine you can post a couple perhaps? The assignments I got the most out of (in terms of skill development) were the ones that pushed me to draw things I wouldn't normally draw...for example I find drawing faces very difficult and I'm never happy with how they come out, so I almost never do it. So the assignment where we had to draw people, even though I wasn't proud of the result, did help me improve. And overall it was a good reminder that it's harder to improve if I stay in my comfort zone. But the assignment I truly enjoyed the most was the week we were told to draw "a human-made, normal everyday object that you think is beautiful." It was fun to think about, and fun to do, and everyone's drawings for that week were so interesting to look at. I drew a necktie hanging over a doorknob, and I liked how it turned out. It's funny but I have never looked at doorknobs quite the same way since then - they really do have interesting curves.
