Hi. I’m back from a many-month break to work on some food control. I have just one goal this challenge. Eat well between the hours of 3 and 6 pm.

I’m in my first tricky hour, and it sure felt great to see you guys. I missed you!  And you are already helping me feel strong for tonight’s main event. My son is cooking what we call his extravaganza. Trifle for dessert will NOT be my weekness tonight!

Yes!  I have a whole lot of habits I need to change these days. But I’ve learned that I need to focus to make real change.

 

And now I’m off for a walk to avoid temptation in the kitchen. Beautiful sunshine will be my reward :)

Two days down, and I’m feeling pretty smug. I have survived my haunting gours. Tonight is the local fair, so I will enjoy a reasonable amount of funnel cake.   Hopefully it will be pumpkin funnel cake!

 

I was going to post some haunting gifs, but this morning’s first frost was so beautiful I thought I would share a garden photo instead.

I knew it!  I knee you would have been up to lots of adventure. Sometimes the most adventure I have in a day is reading about your adventures.

Good to see you, too!  The accountability of being here is really helping me.

 

It’s been a good weekend, and I made it though my first day of the official challenge with flying colors. Hubby worked late today which would have normally been a trigger for me to go off track. But not today!!!

Hello! I was on a many-month break as well (okay fine, more like year-long)! Glad to see my Suzy sister is back as well! 

 

I love the idea of your challenge and may have to steal it for next time. There are definitely a few hours that are my downfall each dayl

Today’s the first day I’m docking points for my goal. I made it 2 out of 3 hours. But alas, portion size is the last of my worries at dinner time. Too much pizza made me feel gross.  But I passed up on two tempting whoopie pies during my witching hours - one was even pumpkin flavored!  So I walk away with a mini victory.  It could have been worse.

That definitely could have been worse, well done staying strong on the whoopie pies!

So, when I chose this goal, I was having a couple struggles.  #1 is the "snacking after work" struggle and #2 is the "dinner portion control" struggle.  I've been doing great - 100%!!! - on the snacking.  I have been eating fruit or not needing a snack all week.

 

I am having a harder time with the portion control aspect.  I only have 2 days of good dinner choices/portions so far.  I have lots of good reasons...which are probably excuses...for this.  Top on the list is weird work schedules.  So, on the one hand, next week should be easier because work hours are more normal.  But on the other hand, I need to plan better for days I know I will be working late.

 

Also, I'm happy that my clock said 3:00 when I started typing this.  I'm going to go read a book instead of snack RIGHT NOW!

This sounds like a pretty reasonable thing to work on. You can do it!

Yogurt, nuts, and/or hardboiled eggs are the most useful hunger-squelching snacks for me. Those are all pretty portable.

With chickens in my back yard, I really need to remember hard-boiled eggs.  It’s been a while since I prepped them ahead of time to have on hand. Thanks, Xena!

 

Tough week last week. Only 9 points for me. With 3 points possible every day, that is 9/27. So many witching hours I ignored my challenge. I almost didn’t bother to post. But accountability is what I desperately need, so there we go.

 

For the record, I have trashed the pumpkin cheesecake dip. What an evil temptation - even though  I made it for innocent reasons.
