Approximate translation?

 

My life is changing. I haven't much desire to go into much depth, but my life will drastically change as something I have been for 22 years will be dying.  I have been in a bit of anger at the turn of events as I had a bit of fight to get to this place only to have everything go away. A bit of identity crisis and a bit of why bother with anything any more? It has been a rough couple  years anyway and to add this on top is no fun, but c'est la vie. At the moment it is just keep swimming. Just one more step. One more step. One more step. I am stumbling to the Tardis.

Goals are super small this time as I haven't much energy with all the dying and such. So...

 

Running: I have a race on the 27th. I don't expect great results. My last 5k in April I knocked like 3 minutes off my time. However I have been emotional eating a lot over the last couple months and have gained a bit of weight. I haven't been going to the gym as often nor running as my programming as prescribed. I am hoping to do another 5k in  Nov also, but it looks like I may have to work that day which I am not very happy about. I was looking forward to this race since like Feb. or so which is highly unusual for me. I'm not really a runner. But I have been having some issues with my knee. And for some dumb reason running isn't bad for it. 

 

Lunches: I want to take lunch to work at least 2 times a week. Preferable 3 times a week. 

 

Other than that I just need to breathe. I mean figuratively and literally. I am so stressed that today I actually noticed that I was holding my breath from stress sometimes today.

I think my body decided I couldn't be trusted to make the right decision and gave in to a cold for the greater good. I mean smart move my body knows me too well. Boom too sick to burn out.

Seriously I don't think I have ever been so relieved to be sick. Unfortunately that bodes poorly for the 5k on Sat. :-( We'll see how it goes I really wanted to do it. Training hasn't been as consistent as I wanted either so we'll see if I have to skip it or not. A tad early to tell. 

 

So far I have taken 1 lunch to work. Woo! Was too stressed today to remember lunch until I was most of the way to work. 

 

Oh and good news I won't have to work the day of the 5k in Nov. So that is awesome it was a tradition for a while with a few of my friends, but I have been out of it for a while. So it would be good to get back to it.

Two! Two lunches taken to work. But I ate out for breakfast and dinner so at the end I still feel like in the end I am in the negative. Hmmm. 

 

Feel worse today. I had to move around too much at work. The stress is starting to set in and am having touble going to sleep. :-( I mean it's only 8:30 pm here, but I feel pretty wired, but can tell my body needs to go to sleep. :-(

So I brought my lunch three times last week, but only ate it twice. However I only paid for 1 meal so that was a super week by my book since the goal is to save money. 

 

I got sick a week ago Thursday. I got a cold or flu; I don't understand the difference anymore. I have had to work and be more physical at work than I should have been so it's just kind of holding on. Today was my 5k. I had to leave by 6:30 to get there on time and I decided to pass on it. I woke up on time, but didn't feel well enough to feel good about doing it in the middle of going to work for 12 days straight. It pains me as this was a 5k I have wanted to do for 2 years or more. It is a unique opportunity to do a 5k in an area that isn't usually open to the public so it is kind of cool. It's sort of funny as when I signed up I was thinking 'should I do this? I won't do well most likely, what if I don't end up going?' 'Eh, I will go no matter how bad I will do. It's not like I have ever missed a 5k before.' I figured I'd just put my pride aside. Well, pride wasn't the issue. So now I have to wait til next year to do this event. To make things more painful when I woke up after going back to sleep I actually felt pretty normal. Obviously I as still recovering since this is the first day I felt normal, but dang I probaly could have walked/ran it. Oh well, it is probably best I didn't do it. 

 

Today was my day to get my reward. Just a day to revel in the things that are to end. I mean it has been for a little while, but today just a little bit more so and with more finality. I wasn't as present as I would have liked, but I still enjoyed it never the less. Good bye old friend

Sorry you had to miss the race. Your body appreciated the rest, and letting yourself sleep in was probably why you felt better, but it's still hard to miss something you've looked forward to.

Yeah, for sure. This morning I was kind of kicking myself again, but it was the best decision I am sure.

Forgot to bring a lunch. Or rather didn't put in the time to bring a lunch. I bought stuff to make a crockpot soup, but was at work so much I forgot to start it. I did however score a free dinner from one of my favorite restaurants. I got off work a little past midnight so I won't have lunch tomorrow either. However it is a lunch meeting so I guess it works out, but I think it is pizza. Eh!

Oh how I miss the gym. I packed my gym bag thinking that maybe somehow I would luck out and have a gap where I could be downloading things and waiting on processes so that I could sneak off. Instead I worked a 15 hour day. Mondays have been great there lately (at the gym that is). Now they will probably move onto a new thing.

          

No chance of running this week til maybe Wed if a short (ie regular day) otherwise Thursday maybe. I did manage to sneak in a walk to the bank with my dog yesterday. It was nice to walk in the cool air. It's like 2.5 miles round trip so it is good.

YOu got off at midnight?! Those are some long days. Glad you got time for a bit of a walk with your dog. That sounds like the relaxation you needed

Yeah, I had a lot to do in the last two weeks before the big deadline. Then got sick. So I lost a lot of time, energy, and momentum. Today was shorter and I only worked 12 hrs. :crushed: I think a break will come soon.

 

No need to bring lunch since we had a meeting at work, but I guess I should have brought dinner. Though I think this week will likely have to be eating out since I haven't had time to shop.

I think I only brought my lunch once last week. I can't really remember though. No running either. Which I am a little disappointed about since it would do me good. Even walking would be fine at this point. I feel too stressed with the amount of things I have to do. 

 

I did start up my to-do list point values set up. I got several things knocked off on Sunday. I can't seem to find the notebook. I will aim for 100 points by the end of the challenge. I think I am at like 35 points or so. 

 

Yesterday I did make some meat for lunches, and bought the stuff for snacks. I am still adjusting to going into work earlier though and didn't have my veggies ready to go so I ate out. I bought lunch out and bought food that I planned on eating for two meals. Instead I ate it all nonstop. The emotional eating is out of control. I can't seem to get a grip on it. That is why I want to get back on the plan I was on. It was a lot of food, but good food and lots of veggies. I may have to go back to keeping celery on hand to just plan on giving up on controlling the emotional eating at the moment and just switch to something with less calories. It is more satisfying any way for some reason. I have regained all my weight. Which is extremely frustrating. 

 

Fortunately though I think if I can stay on top of things most of my overwhelming tasks are a huge mountain of little things (well for the most part.) So I am hoping to knock out a lot of it this week. I know fires will come up, but hopefully the impact will be minimal.

Sounds like you've been busy and stressed. Sorry, that is hard. Yay for getting some meat  prepped, and snacks bought. As far as veggies go, is there a way you can make that easier? Like pre - packaged salads, and already cut up veggies? And maybe some frozen veggies that you can microwave and steam right in the bag? Right now, seems like having less prep time for your food would help.

The ridiculous thing is I bought greens on Sunday for just that reason. All I had to do was plop it into a container.

I thought it was going to just be 4 wks more. But yesterday, two more projects got added. Then today another one that I thought I had been given more time on, but "later" apparently didn't mean when I thought it meant.

The amount of work that needs to be done in the next two months is a crazy amount. The problem is that there isn't a plan.

I think the analogy I like best is like in the old cartoon like situation where someone might be swimming in water. There are all these whirlpools and you fight like hell to get out of one only to be pulled back in or pulled into a whole new one. Again. And again and again. One cannot fight forever and when you rest you get pulled in.

Now let's see if I can remember it in the morning. I got some progress on my to-do list. It was an item that affected another person so it felt good to accomplish something today. I got a reflector today for a photo shot on Sat. I think there will be too many people in the shoot for it to really help, but I don't have a flash so we'll see how it goes.

So I took my lunch to work. Then when I got home I realized I forgot to eat it. I even went to the effort of bringing a cooler in case I couldn't get it in the fridge right away. When lunch came I left mostly to get away, but it wasn't a decision I just totally forgot. Dang.

 

I did sign up for a thanksgiving 5k. I won't do well, but hoping I can at least make a good effort.
