Remember to leave room for pumpkin pie! Pumpkin pie is the best thing about thanksgiving, from an outsider's perspective :P

Ghostess would heartily agree with you, from an outsider's perspective :)

I am exhausted. Two workouts in a day will do that  I guess. Well I did go climbing. It took a little pushing. Thanks a huge amount to @Rhovaniel and @Charlie_Quinn who really came good when I asked them to bug me.

Anytime, my friend. I'm always available to help slay some anxiety demons.

I'm so proud of you for going. And now we can drive everyone nuts with bouldering talk along with running and OCR talk! :D

It's pretty good from an insiders perspective.

I kind of don't get the 'pumpkin spice all the things' thing but I do love me some pumpkin pie!

You should have pumpkin pie too.  It's not just for Muricans, you know.  ;-)

I could, but I'm not going to ;) pumpkin pie isn't going to help me achieve my goals. It used to be really hard to source the pumpkin but thanks to amazon it's now quite simple.

More to the point... it gives us a whole new kind of shoe to spend hours talking about!

Thank you! The anxiety over that was really, really bad. @Rhovaniel, told me today that she didn't believe that me not doing it was my style. If I'd not said anything and had everyone on side I might have bailed and just not said anything about it. I really wanted to get it done.

Week 0, Thursday!

177 Days to Oblivion.

Oh what a day... ugh. It was one of those days where I regretted even showing up for work. My morning was a fully of emergencies and activity with the marketing manager ringing my phone off the hook before I even got in. I was able to sort everything quite quickly but there was a lot of stress this morning. The gif is courtesy of the elusive @Mr_Willes this is how he put it:

tenor.gif

Beside that it was good today. I met @Rhovaniel for lunch because she happened to be in town for work and very near where I work and I was able to take her somewhere that serves some good healthy food :) win. I at least hope she enjoyed it more than Subway. Nice  not be in a muddy field yelling at each other for a change! It was also a nice break from my otherwise stressful day.

I want to make a few changes to my challenge before week one. I realise that some things need to change a tiny bit. I've changed something on my mince pie list and I really need to add the sleep goal back in. I don't know why but I really suck at keeping my 10pm bedtime when it's not listed as a goal. Last night I blame @Mr_Willes

Eat to Help your Goals, not Harm them.

2394: good day. Not really much to say about it. I seem to be over the initial hunger pangs. Feeling good today.

Everything was tracked

Weight today was 95kg- I was wrong about the initial drop being done with.

Run

None

Strength Work

Deadlift day!

Gym this morning was really good. Straps didn't need to be used.

4x10x92.5kg

1x17x92.5kg

Also

RDL Deadlifts

SLRDL Deadlifts

Calf Raises

Leg Curls

Much core work.

A little bit of gentle rowing to finish out. It was slow and easy.

OCR Type Stuff

None today. But this week is complete.

Mince Pie List

Gift brought.

Honestly, it took me a minute to get it too :)  but I did I found it quite amusing. It's a play on the idea and the opposite to what it's meant to be.

Okay more to the point he started a new job and has been really busy. We've not heard from him in months either but he reappeared this week and we (by we . mean @Charlie_Quinn, @Rhovaniel and @Jarric ) spent a while catching up with him. He has expressed that he wants to start a challenge this time round.

Well I'm not working today so that's better but I haven't slept well all week.

I'll proud of you for going climbing. I didn't realise your anxiety around it was so challenging, going just proves how unstoppable you are.

Yeah... :) the social anxiety thing is a big deal for me. I don't talk about it very much. Now I'm not the most talkative person at the best of times, so when we meet in October at OCRWC don't be offended if I don't say very much. Although I've been getting a lot better about that recently.

I've no idea who it is, though. I'm new...

Yep, really :) Although you don't need to look for him, I know where he lives!

Hi, following!

You’re definitely the one who inspired me to look at the days/weeks left until my self-imposed deadline, and boy was that a shock!

Hi! It's always good to see new people :) I'm glad I inspired you so long as knowing how long you have for your self imposed target date spurs you on to do what you set for yourself rather than paralysing you to inactivity! Those kind of prompts can go either way and it's good to know what motivates you.

Deadlift day!

That phrase sends chills down my spine...in a good perverted kind of way. You know you'll feel it later, but there's something very primal about trying to pick really heavy things up off the ground...repeat.

I couldn't agree more. And I can't put it into any better words. There is a kind of primal exhilaration that comes with deadlifts. Nothing else makes me feel quite so powerful.

Week 1, Monday!

The weekend was, well a bit of a mess, but today has been decent so that is good. I did get out for my long run on Saturday however and got in an excruciatingly slow 14 miles.

Bruising that aside. On Sunday morning I was watching a video featuring the legendary Brian Shaw and he said something that really resonated with me at the time "If you want something bad enough you find a way to make [the training] happen".

Long story short I've made a drastic change that I've been resisting for a long time. I moved my rest day to Tuesday. This will allow me a lot more flexibility with my training. Rather than climbing this week I'm attending an OCR gym on Saturday. I'm going with @Rhovaniel. So that will knock off a big item on my todo list :) The decision to not climb and ocr gym in the same week was made about Friday. My body just wouldn't be able to take it.

Eat to Help your Goals, not Harm them.

2404: good day. The weekend was bad though. I made enough lamb curry to feed a small army.

Everything was tracked

Weight today was 98kg

Run

3.1 miles

6x30 second hill repeats at 10% and 12kph. 2:30 rest. These were really hard!

Strength Work

Squat day

I don't really have time to write out the fill workout (I want to fix how I record it to make it a lot easier to do this) but the important thing is that my top set was 85kg (187lbs) for 20 reps!

I got a new lifting belt in the Black Friday Sale. It is so much better than my old one! It's really easy to get a really tight fit!

OCR Type Stuff

Saturday.

Mince Pie List

Well I ordered wrapping paper and both presents.

Nice work!

My work computer's lock screen is a scenery shot that changes daily, today it was the Lake District UK which made me think of you....then worry that I'm a hopeless Colonist that doesn't know geography and that MvL wasn't there....
