Work in progress.  I'm still crawling my way through the Young Han Solo trilogy from Star Wars Expanded Universe Legends (Eff You, Disney) and Remember your NUTS.  I have Kindle samples for the second Magnus Chase book (a modern day young adult having adventures throughout Norse Mythology), Loki's Wolves (similar, different author), a Michael Crichton book about pirates, the most recent Girl with the Dragon Tattoo novel, and a whole bunch of Hells Angels/outlaw biker or Global War on Terror autobigraphies to pick from.

Also want to take a critical look at The Black Company.

Guess I should actually follow through on that quest haha

And from the internets: TWO rugby teams performing the haka. It's interesting to me the territory this cover - New Zealand to American Samoa (where I first associated it with, perhaps incorrectly), to Hawaii.

PS: Demonstrations of the haka at funerals in New Zealand are powerful and will make you cry. (Or me anyway.)

Aquaman is so closeeeee!!!!! I'm so excited.  Nice job getting those tickets ahead of time - I should probably get some midnight showing tickets myself since the crowds that turn out for those in NYC are always freaking amazing.  Hah that SNL episode was hilarious, but I feel like they kind of missed an opportunity to show off what a goofball Mamoa is.  Mr. Raxie pointed out that they tended to put him in roles that they've put The Rock in in the past and I had to agree - but it doens't really matter because it's always a treat to watch him anyway.

Challenge Journal:  The wee hours of December 14, 2018.

We made it to the weekend, ladies and gentlemen!

I've decided on a couple of books to start (☑), no social activity yet, but a weightlifting team Xmas party tomorrow (with a +1!!!).  Caught up on my shows tonight, Vikings and SEAL Team - next up will be conquering season 3 of Frontier for #MomoaWeekend.  Tuesday and Wednesday weren't perfect eating days, or rather they were until I got home and was still hungry after my nightly protein cookies - I got after some baked pizza buns smothered in shredded cheese the one and leftover egg rolls the other.  Neither was catastrophic but still a bit of a hiccup in my Nutritional Alchemy quest so I'm not entirely sure how to handle that.

Back on track today though, that's the important thing.  Oly in the morning!

I think that picture will be my inspiration for my 2019 challenge, except it'll be My Hopes and Dreams (or Motivation and Goals) are as big as Jason Momoa's arms.

As someone who has both taken part in ramp expatriation ceremonies and seen a comrade off to Valhalla in a warzone, this one speaks to me:

I especially love that the Haka transcends racial lines; it's cultural, yes, but you'll see white New Zealanders and ex-pats equally as passionate in its performance.  And that, to me, is something that speaks to the bonds of brotherhood and camaraderie that no other feeling can express.

Beyond words excited for Aquaman.  Tiny bit jealous and jaded that I'll have to share my Momoadom with so many others who will be exposed to his legendary grandeur, but that should only elevate society.  Most of those SNL skits were disappointing actually, a lot of missed opportunity, and your hubby is exactly right about the crossover between Momoa and the Rock.

But no matter how many times I've seen people do a haka, it appears like it's only the ones with Polynesian roots that can nail that passionate expression that borders on crazy (which is what makes it so intimidating and awesome). B)

Point of clarification - do you want to be the spouse standing there with the, "oh, this again..." or do you want to be the spouse doing the action creating the "oh, this again..."?

Also, is that his son in there? Because I thought it was and that was my favorite part.

Challenge Journal:  Week Three wrap-up (December 16, 2018).

Week Three of the final challenge cycle for 2018 is in the bag.

And I haven't been this active/addicted/attached to the forums in years, haha!

It's really great to be back and posting regularly.  Life is messy and complicated but the Rebellion is truly a home away from home, and ya'll help me center my brainwaves and bounce my ideas back with even better ideas.  Plus I always feel more extroverted in Real Life after some Forum Extroversion, which is a major goal I'm working on.  Speaking of goals, I'm excited to start brainstorming my overarching goals for 2019; we'll definitely continue to see a significant Momoa presence (especially with the influx of Aquaman gifs and memes to be had after this week's premiere), I'm going to keep embracing my inner Rogue/rake/rapscallion, grinding out my Charisma dump stat and striving for increasingly extroverted ambiversion, forming some agility goals to work on some CrossFit weaknesses I haven't looked at in ages, and continually seeking new and exciting ways to Level Up my life.

I've already got a working challenge title based on one of the books I've sampled lately too.. Cry Havoc:  The Rogue Who Pulled on Trouble's Braids.

A moment of "Be Happy" (☑) I forgot to mention earlier in the week, came from an unlikely compliment from a coworker I've been riding the high of for a couple of days.

Additional positivity dump:  Started Frontier season 3 and loving it.  Xmas party for the gym weightlifting team last night (social activity )  Finally got around to returning all the tools and tile and unused stuff to Home Depot last night when I also picked up my first ever real Christmas tree (my house smells AMAZING right now, plus minimalism mini-quest success ).  Set-up my account for online grocery shopping and giving that a try tomorrow.  Also, AQUAMAN IN FOUR DAYS!!!!

As if anyone needed a reason to adore this man more (Momoa, not you this time Rurik), I love how much he has his family with him for everything.

I see you more as an instigator than sitting back and just watching!

I would pout a little except the 'more as an instigator' bit more than made up for diversity of attention.  ;)

It's a great book! My dad and I both read it :). The Land is also amazing. It's a LitRPG and there's 7 books in the series. Not that you need more distractions, lol.
