Will be hopefully getting a bit of yoga in tonight before heading to our friends for some board games and Indian food. yasss. Can’t wait. But also I want to get home at a reasonable time for sleep. hahaha where’s that proposal for more hours in the day??

Yes. All the cool kids stay up until 1am and I'm like "I want to be cool, but I also want to go to bed at 10:30pm. Can we start being cool a bit earlier?". Board games sounds great!

yeah i mostly tried the cool kid thing and bailed on enough sleep B)

Week 1 – Friday

Did not get in yoga as I had to rush around taking care of the dog and picking up the dinner. if it had just been our friends there I would’ve done yoga with them but they had a couple other people over that I didn’t know!

We left at a reasonable-ish time. got to sleep around 1:30AM.

workouts: 3/5

yoga: 47

restaurant food: 1

bedtime: 3/5

Week 1 – Saturday

Went and did the grocery shopping then my workout of choice was a half hour walk around the block with spouse. It was great. breakfast and lunch were leftovers.

We did not get much done after that. went to a german Christmas markt and had a blast! Dinner was a burnt ends sandwich with cabbage, a half of a ham&cheese croissant, and late night calzone pieces.

Got to bed at 3am. was supposed to stay over our friends but another friend was worse off than we were so we sobered up and drove home.

workouts: 4/5

restaurant food: 2

Week 1 – Sunday

Slept in until 11am! then got a TON of returns done that have been lingering around the house. phew. breakfast was more leftovers and then we went out to a late lunch with a friend. we brought our remaining TY cards to their house to finish up while watching a movie but it didn’t happen.

restaurant food: 3

Challenge goals:

3 weights per week

1 run per week

TV off by 8pm 5 nights/week

send out first batch of wedding thank yous

finish thank you cards (11/22)

Rolling goals:

1 whatever I feel like workout

eat out less than 3x per week

yoga 50mins/week;  don't forget modified hip bridges and clamshells

week 1 scores!

bedtime: 3/5

workouts: 4/5

yoga: 47/50

restaurant food: 3

fairly solid scores except for bedtime. And last night wasn’t any better. I swear this is actually important to me and I AM going to make a change.

week 2 plan.

12/3: weights; yoga (10m)

12/4: yoga (20m)

12/5: weights; (yoga 10m)

12/6: running; yoga (10m)

12/7: weights; spouse’s work holiday party

12/8: groceries; yoga or cardio; TY cards; bookstore; friends xmas show

12/6: meal prep; brunch; movies

This is actually a great idea. Next time we have guests I'm just going to make them to do deadlifts with me. Actually, now I think on it, it might work better for yoga.

you'd be surprised how much a pull up bar in your living room doorway can spark impromptu workouts from house guests!

Damn, that's a beautiful Monday. :)

I usually find bedtime hard, but I'm taking to it surprisingly well this time. Maybe because it's dark outside always.

I'm no chef, but I'm fairly sure that isn't supposed to happen..

Putting it in the microwave, yeah I could maybe see that happening, if all the sparks are anything to judge by.. Maybe the foil had some sort of non-stick coating that's only rated to a certain temp?

So what happens at bedtime? Do you just forget and keep doing things? Do you have an alarm?

i usually let the TV stay on too long to "just finish this one episode" or if i do turn it off in time, then i lolly gag around opening boxes and doing a fashion show with my new clothes that usually don't fit right anyway lol

right?? i've done this a million times with this same tin foil! first thing spouse asked was if it was at the end of the roll (it wasn't)

Being good on bedtime really helps with the rest of the day, it still surprises me sometimes.

Oooh, I want to see it! The question is, can I get Mr Harriet to go with? He's a little bit older and didn't grow up with Harry Potter, as I did. Ah, I cherish the things from my childhood. Like the land before time. And captain planet. And the theme song from x-men. But I cannot risk exposing them to the ridicule of people who don't understand.

It's about a 25 (now 27 or 28) year old man who listens/reads harry potter for the first time and is appropriately snarky about it with harry potter super nerds as guest hosts (I think a few episodes even have the owner of the Potterotica website on, which is fantastic in its own right (and which I didn't know existed until this podcast)). I think its hilarious.

Better in memory. I got into a discussion saturday night about how captain planet existed to promote the socialist agenda.

Also the best.

There are people who like Land Before Time and people who are wrong.

a few friends and i rewatched the first Fantastic Beasts about a week ago. one of our friends watched with us who had never read the books or seen the movies and she liked it! so i think it's definitely something a non-potter nerd can enjoy. most of my criticism is for the parts of the movie that don't line up with the book's plot/timeline. but do movies ever really do books their full justice?
