Darkfoxx 52: Holidays Got My Schedule Like ...

So.

 

This challenge.

 

I’ll be home-but-busy Week 1

In the US Weeks 2-3

And home-but-busy Week 4

 

(Whoo)

 

As such, I’ll be clinging on to not spinning out and chasing my tail until at least Christmas.

Goals:

 

1

 

Take time for myself when damn needed. I am h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e at this when traveling - especially when traveling to see family, and attempting to cram seeing everyone I want and/or should see into extremely limited time.

 

Luckily, I have my damn video updates to fall back on - and for at least part of this trip, I’m staying with my brother separate from the family in an area of town of our choosing.

Don’t eat like an asshole, but don’t be *too* neurotic about it. Like - eat a wrap if it’s that or starve, but don’t eat a 1-pound sausage, the bun, *and* the fries.

 

3

 

Get at least a 15-minute workout routine in every morning.

 

I can find routines that I can do before taking a shower - something that’s bodyweight, doesn’t involve vision, and doesn’t necessitate going upside down in the event I want to wear my glasses and see. Hell, I bet I can even find something I can do in the bathroom while getting ready.

 

The end of this challenge may or may not see my trainer back in town for our last few sessions - the goal here is to not get side eye from him, and twofold - to build some damn habits so I don’t fall off the freaking rails when this cycle is up and I force myself to quit paying an exorbitant amount for a workout buddy that pushes me. (Ok, so he does more than that, but still - $$

Monday

Workout went well, despite my wrist being injured garbage.

Trainer wants me to work out 15 mins bodyweight daily while I’m gone. I’ve pulled some barre workouts that involve a chair, I don’t need vision for, and don’t require me to get on the ground or go upside down. It may be an all-barre couple of weeks.

Came up with a good plan: eat the things, but stay out of the clean plate club - take before & after pics for accountability. No mindless appetizer shoveling - I’ve had chips and bread before in life. Bread is better here, anyways.

Mostly sat on the couch for the rest of the day.

Tuesday

Potluck in the park.
Went and looked at potential gifts at the art museum.
DH came home.
Italian for dinner.

I think your plan looks super reasonable and prioritizes taking care of yourself, which is so important during the holidays!! Following for maintaining good progress!  :D

I have, and I’ll give it another look - not quite sold for my particular brain make-up and life circumstances, but I can see how it would be great for other people.

I don't envy you the flights, but at least most QA planes are a decent size for that long a journey.  Good luck with the challenge!

No freakin doubt - DH just did the Kuwait hop and it looks like they’ve pulled crap planes out of storage for it - luckily, transatlantic flights still have the amenities planes! His had zero TVs and tiny seats

Today so far:

Got my driving signs test scheduled for January 2, on my way to breakfast, have moved my 2nd trainer session of the week to this afternoon, have downloaded a bunch more workouts - including a 15-minute Darebee 30 Day dealie - aaaaand passed a guy at a light that was either asleep in his car or in serious need of official attention.

Weird.

I’m checking to see what Dec 1 brings re: the Darebee advent calendar, but I’m like 90% sure I’ll be jumping into it - maybe on the 2nd, unless it posts early enough that I see it while traveling :)

I was a rose gold glitter unicorn for Halloween - my apartment - and I just discovered one of the mats in the gym - are still seeing the after effects.

It was a close thing to *not* dump the glitter in the vents while DH was away and live my best life

Now if only black glitter was more sparkly ...
