Yesterday

Hit the souq for presents - had a mad search for cash; haggled with one dude, didn’t with the other - could have spent hours more trying to find perfect gifts, gave up and walked to the museum instead.

Finished shopping there, grabbed a quick lunch and headed to my hair appointment.

Walked a nearby mall for 15 minutes to kill time - got hair did - came back home to meet a girlfriend for coffee.

Finally relaxed a bit.

Fast-marched a tired DH to one last store to grab something for the teenager on my list.

Dinnered with DH’s work team at our fav neighborhood Indian.

Present haul:

Color-your-own placemats for households with children
Hand painted copper plates for sisterly people
Arabic coffee cups in tins for motherly people
Handmade falcon hood for godson
Desert rose for goddaughter
Makeup bag in geometric print that’s everywhere for teenager

Each family will also get a box or tin of dates depending on what I find either at the mall today or airport tomorrow

Also up today: dinner with friends, laundry, packing my bag, packing Princess’ bag for her stay with friends

Today

It has been ZERO DAYS since Princess was an asshole and peed.

Little shit.

I know it’s because her house is in disarray, bags are being packed, and all her Shit is in a suitcase - but still ...

I wanted to punt the dog.

Bags are packed - I’m bummed I can’t fit all my clothes into my rolling carryon - over weight on that, and taking 1/4 of the big suitcase with my leftovers + the presents.

I’ve overpacked - and I’m sure I’ll be coming home with at least a thicker coat, boots, maaaaybe Raleigh jeans, and whatever shit I buy at Target.

Also went out for Turkish with friends - ate too much, but not pain too much.

Food plan is going well - have been not trying to kill my stomach.

Shit tons of shopping has happened.

Caught up on my Advent Calendar & 12 Days Of XMas workouts; still need to do today’s but it’s 8:11 am so I’ve got time.

Sleep has been weird, but that’s fine - dealing with it.

Update:

Ohio was fine - managed to not eat like a complete asshole; almost froze to death; visited family and only got mildly annoyed (separate lodgings and a car helped); and kiiiiinda kept up with my Darebee.

Didn’t do today’s advent calendar; am like 2 days behind on 12 days of Christmas because: cold.

Whelp, I’m snowbound in NC [emoji3063][emoji3587][emoji3511][emoji3587]

Super behind on my fitness, but have managed by and large to not eat like an asshole.

And I’ve taken so many trips to Target & PetSmart, I broke down and replaced the suitcase that just died with a bigger model [emoji38]

It remains to be seen whether we will be heading to our third location tomorrow - we shall see how the roads to VA look. It’s a 3.5 hour drive on mostly highways, so we have hopes.

Hope your flight back home went smoothly! It must have been a nice change to get some snow, even though it's really annoying.

It was, actually. Drove up to VA the next day taking back roads and marveling at the beauty of snowy fields zipping past.

The flight home went smoothly.

Picked Princess up, napped a bunch, ate unsatisfying Mexican for dinner, have been what I’m calling cyclical sleeping all night, have a princess face in the crook of my arm and a storm over the speaker as I write.

Back to life as it were.

Jet lag recovery continues.

Still lots of napping and waking up in the middle of the night, but I’m hoping that will iron out with a return to my “normal” schedule.

Birthday celebrations happened and I went to bed hella full but not so full I was in pain, so win there ish.

Was hoping to get back to trainer schedule tomorrow, but failed to actually do anything about that. Oops. Need to find something to do tomorrow.

Also need to cook something.
