My name is Jamie. I am 20 years old and love the outdoors, sports, and everything Marvel.


Why am I here? Over the past five years I have been diagnosed with a few different autoimmune diseases and cancer. Because of changing life circumstances and my health problems, my eating and workouts have taken a huge toll. I went from being an extremely active high schooler, participating in several sports, to being constantly sick and weak.


I have gained weight and am not able to do many of the things that I love to do now. That’s what led me here. I researched diets that benefit those with autoimmune diseases especially Rheumatoid Arthritis, and the Paleo diet kept popping up. While learning about Paleo, Nerd Fitness was one of the most helpful websites. That’s how I’m here.


I want to not only lose weight but heal my body and be able to participate in the activities that I want to.


This is my first challenge and I am super excited for it! Though my main goal is to lose weight, I am splitting my goals into a body, mind, soul goal.



1.      Stick to Paleo for one whole month. I have started Paleo and then always quit because I had no accountability. Now, not only do all of you know my goal, but so does my sister. There is no failing now! (28)

2.      Drink 72 ounces of water every day. Stay hydrated! (28)



1.      Get 7 hours of sleep every night...no matter what. (28)



1.      Pray, devotions, and meditation 6/7 days per week. (24)


Because I need to keep myself accountable, I will try to post updates everyday.


I need to remember that all of these things will heal my body. I will be happier and healthier if I follow these four simple objections. Let's get this thing done!

Hi! My partner was recently diagnosed with MS, so we've been doing a strict anti-inflammatory diet that's loosely based on paleo/autoimmune paleo. It can be hard, but it seems to be helping him feel better. Anyway, following along...I hope it goes well for you!

Thank you for sharing your story. My advice, finish your challenge no matter how much you fall off track. Return next month and build on how you did this month if need be. Advice I need to follow myself. Missing some days can make me feel like I failed, but the real failure is when I just stop because of it.
