Back for round two

Hi guys!

 

I'm back to try this again.  I was on NF about a year ago and fell off the bandwagon hard.  

 

Challenge #2 will be

DIET

  • Cook "real food" meals 4x a week with my family
  • Track food daily for 21 days straight (TR-18 irradication)

FITNESS

  • Complete a 10+ minute bodyweight workout 3x a week.
  • Take at least a 5 minute walk each day (and log for my Walk to Mordor)

LEVEL UP YOUR LIFE

  • Post on the NF forum daily to keep myself accountable and get my head in the game. 
  • Read and complete Rising Heroes quests daily.

I made a spreadsheet to keep it more organized and "check-listy."  One thing that really helps me in all aspects of my life is check lists. :D

 

I've also decided that if I complete all of these goals this monthly challenge, that my loot will be to buy myself a Nerd Fitness T-Shirt Yaaaay!

Went for a Pokemon hunt tonight with my wife.  Was pretty perfect weather here for it in Florida... 57 degrees farenheit.

Today the only thing I worked on physically was to go for my walk and I followed along with Jim Bathurst on the Rising Heroes site (Is anyone else here a part of it?  If so, which team are you?  How are you liking it?).  Anyway, the video I followed along with was just the warm up (approximately 8 minutes long), and I struggled.  It wasn't even the workout!! JUST THE STINKING WARM UP!!  Really shows me how far I've let my heath go over the years.  I was frustrated and didn't even complete all of the steps he did.  I just walked in place while he showed the rest of them.  It was around the 5 minute mark that I had to just walk in place, so I guess I know my starting area.  The rest of the week, I will practice with it until I can complete it.  Overall, not a bad night.  I know where I'm at and i know where I'm heading.  I don't feel as discouraged as I have in the past.

Today was pretty busy at work and then I didn't eat that great for any of my meals today, but despite that, I still made myself go for a walk and get the rest of my quests completed.

Yay spreadsheets! Yay, you're back! I'm super hit or miss about checking in with people right now but I'm glad you came back. :) I totally know the feeling of trying to get through a warmup and being like "omg no. why." But stick with it and you'll be surprised how far you get!

Ate really badly today. Broke Steve's never miss two in a row rule.  So tomorrow will be better. Added another thing to my challenge, which won't be hard for me because I do it naturally, but will help me acquire some influence points for my team on Rising Heroes! Go Havik!

 

The chart below is really helping me focus on what I need to do and I feel that it is a way to hold myself accountable.

Long day at work.  Inventory.  So the bosses bought us pizza and brought in donuts for breakfast.  I was able to use my will power and skip the donuts, but I should have brought my own lunch and not count on them to bring in a healthy food.  So i caved on Pizza.  Going out for my walk/Pokemon adventure with my wife and to see the Christmas lights in the local park.

So, even though I did not complete all of my quests this week, I can see what I need to work on the most.  So I will be devising a more strict plan to make sure I make at least 4 "real" food meals at home this coming week! Pumped to start the week off right! Go Havik!!

Started making the smoothies I planned on making.  In the past, when I have made green smoothies, I have felt a major change in my body and my energy levels and ability to focus.  But also, in the past, I have had only smoothies and I believe that was too strict for me to follow because I always look forward to yummy greasy food too much and once I have a taste of it, I forget the smoothies completely and gain all of the weight back and feel terrible again. 

 

This time, my approach is to have one green smoothie a day and then whatever I want for supper.  That way the temptation part is eliminated.  I've also found that if I start the day off right with a green smoothie, that I tend to make better meal choices in the evening. :D  I feel like I'm getting my life on track... slowly but surely.  

 

I've noticed a boost in my confidence and a major boost in my energy with these small changes.
