My goal for the last challenge was to keep post every day. And since life is  a bitch, my old desktop computer died on me, and I do not have money to have it looked at.

 

I now have an old Toshiba laptop with a Lenovo screen running on Linux.  While it is propped up so that it does not overheat things go well.

 

So, starting from scratch this time, posting every day and read something every day.

I am battling to get through some internet addiction issues. Since my illness I have started spending way too much time on Quora and Youtube on my phone. I did manage to block quora on all devices, I have blocked youtube on my phone, but to make up for it I have started downloading ebooks and reading them at work. All of that is not a good idea. I have got bookshelves full of good books I still need to read.

 

I am trying to be human. It is difficult. I need to get back to exercise and meditation.

Every time I think I have got a handle on this human thing I get involved with family and then everything goes bananas. But I will survive, even if I have to outlive the lot of them.

I actually had a partly productive day and managed to make something. 

 

Google books is not a good idea. Especially not free Science Fiction short stories.

 

My goal for tomorrow is to clean the stack of papers of my desk. 

 

I got new glasses two weeks ago. My 6 year old pair has reached the end of their useful life, and then I dropped them. On the good side it is nice to be able to see again.

Donderdag.

 

For the past two years my comfortable chair has not been comfortable. Today I replaced the springs, all were broken, and glued it back together. It has been a 'paint it red and make it do' type of job, but if it last for a few years I should be happy. I picked up the chair in a parking lot in the city when someone thew it out, and repaired and re-upholstered it. That was in 1995. 

 

My morning were not good. My father made me feel like crying.

 

I did something towards cleaning my desk.

Fixing the chair is good! Little things like that might seem small but they can make your days so much better! That sucks about your father though- it’s shitty when people close to you are hurtful. I hope things are better now!

I have reached the point that I believe this will never get better. Being all zen and accepting  and understanding does not make it better.

And after 5 days I removed Google Books from my phone. It has started to consume my life. I will not admit to anyone how much time at work I spend reading.

 

At least I am sitting in comfort. 

 

And my annual dread of Christmas day has started to kick in. If I ever escape this place I will be moving to a place where I know nobody.

 

Nope, I did not touch my desk.

Saterdag.

 

I spend the morning poisoning ants. I drilled holes into the walls and soaked the insides with poison. This is an escalation of my campaign, and it seems that I am winning. 

 

The afternoon I spend at work poisoning the weeds. 

 

Saturday night movie was Sense and Sensibility. I like Emma Thompson.

Sondag.

 

We put up shelve thingies for the kayaks at home. Finally it is in a safe place. The only problem left is the drought and the lack of water in the pond. We did have an unexpected thunderstorm during my afternoon nap.

 

A little bit of cleaning and sorting done.

 

I was at the workshop this morning. Sorted out some stuff, and repaired a glass grinder for a friend of someone. 

 

The kittens disappeared last night. There was a commotion outside, and this morning they were nowhere. Tonight at table one started playing with my toes, the other two are still missing. We have no idea where this one was, or where the other two can be.

Decent sort of day. I even had cake, it is my father's 78th birthday.

 

The two kittens are still missing. 

 

I have started to play scrabble on my phone. I need a decent dictionary, half the words they allow is not in mine.

The graphic makes sense. Once you start to ask if you should buy the tool it’s only a matter of time before you end up getting it.

My problem is I tend to buy the tool and then afterwards try to justify my decision. And every time I think a second hand tool is a bargain then I buy it. That is why today I bought my 4th coping saw and a panelbeating dolly. Things I already have and do not use much. The wetstone and chock were a good idea.

The kittens are still missing. They are nice and cute and well socialised, know dogs and are housetrained. I really hope they got a nice house somewhere, it saves us the effort to try and rehome them. It is the uncertainty that is the bad part. 

 

Dinsdag.

 

I planned things today, it did not work out. Pleasing customers was more important.

 

I also took some furniture to the township for two of my guys after work. 

 

I am trying to get my sleep patterns better. It is nice to wake up at 5 in the morning. I like being alone.

 

And scrabble do not consider Zen to be a word, but are willing to accept Whae.

Woensdag

 

Random sorts of things  got done, nothing important or spectacular. One order that can be descibed as 'not too bad'. 

 

We are supposed to close for the summer holiday next week. I still have not calculated when we have to restart work. I wish nobody come back next year. I am over stupid people.

 

And I  sticked my nose into papers I shouldn't have and found out one of the guys is busy applying for a disability grant. Apparently he needs it for his epilepsy, and he is jobless and survives by doing piecework. Since he has been working here for 24 years this is the first time I heard of the epilepsy, he is one of the three highest paid employees and owns a car and a decent three bedroom brick house with a tiled roof. I wish he gets the grant and stops working for us, on the other hand I do not like the dishonesty. 

 

I got up at 5 this morning, did some stretching and foam rolling while the kitten and dogs competed for my attention.

 

Scrabble insists July is not an acceptable word, and I had a nice space for it on a triple word block with y on the triple letter block. Life is unfair.

Are you sure this version is English?

My first thoughts on seeing the title of that video was: "What? Men doing dishes? This I have to see..." Ja nee... thought so. Wait! I've been wanting new dinner set and stuff in the kitchen for a long time. Maybe I should ask B to do the dishes tonight?! Thanks for the idea, Jakkals!

This is the official online scrabble. I have to follow their rules.

 

But what bothers me most is the inconsistency. I can write Ring but not Sauron, and Droid is acceptable but Sith is not.  And I hate the ads. There is no way to get rid of it.

The morning was a waste. I had a complete brain dissolve. The afternoon were better. 

 

Woke up at 4, slept until my alarm at 5, and promptly slept again until 6:10.

 

My bed is made, and I am tired.

We will not talk about the fries.

 

I were supposed to cut grass this afternoon. It did not happen due to family.

 

A rare opportunity to social also did not happen due to family.

 

By late afternoon my brain was in full meltdown. That explains the fries.  I ended up sitting in my car reading a book just to have a short break.

 

A late afternoon nap helped a bit.

Saterdag

 

I spend most of the day on my knees working around the house. There is still a lot of things to do, but at least I am progressing.

 

And it rained, very much needed and it cooled things down. We need a new rain meter.

 

By 8 I had lost my temper a few times, drank a pill and had some alone time by 11. I had a nice nap and felt much better after that.

 

Saturday night movie was Anchorman:The legend of Ron Burgundy.
