Rise Above (the Pull-Up Bar!)

But did you remember to add yesterday's points in there too? You got at least 5 points from deadhangs while we were playing on the monkey rings. We used a stop watch and everything! 

 

My body is completely shot right now so I'm giving my arms, back and shoulders a bit of a rest. We'll see if I have time to break 1000 points during my gym session tomorrow. My big surge will come Wednesday but with the speed that points are being accumulated I might have lost my lead for good.

TBH I don't know that I'm prepared to put in a lot more work on top of what I'm already doing. ;) I might just have to settle for third place but we'll see how  I feel when I hit the gym tomorrow!

Wanted to do pull-up bar work on Friday, but a self-fulfilling prophecy stopped me. Wanted to do pull-up bar work yesterday, but the missus (and the prep work we did for the kids' Saint Nicholas surprise) stopped me. So today I finally scored some more points...

 

Went for a walk this afternoon together with the kids. Went to a playground about a kilometer from my house. Wanted to do some pull-up exercises on the monkey bars, but alas, no monkey bars. Only ladder-like bars. Tried a negative pull-up and chin-up on that. Failed at both because I immediately dropped 10-15 cm. Plus they were going to be awkward with my knees/thighs against the lower sports.

Other side of the playground's slide tower had a sliding pole with a |___| shaped connecting bar. Pretty high up, I had to jump up as high as I could to be able to grab it. And with the sliding pole in the middle, I had to grab both sides of a corner, so it was something in-between a neutral and an overhand grip. Managed to hang for 30 seconds like that, though, so finally some points again.

 

During my evening workout, I did manage a negative pull-up. Could hold the top position (chin over bar) long enough to do one. Failed at the neutral grip, though. Dropped 10-15 cm immediately.

And then I managed 3 consecutive negative chin-ups! Yay!

After that, I did some deadhangs. 40 seconds neutral grip, 30 seconds overhand grip, 30 seconds underhand grip.

 

Total of 53 points for the day. B) 

 

I can already feel my biceps are going to be angry with me tomorrow, though. Especially the left one. :P

That just means that they are begrudge getting stronger. They are just letting you know they aren't happy about being made to work :P

Just got to updating for all of last week:

(Monday, doesn't count but 13 pullups)

Tuesday: 10 pullups

Wednesday: 11 pullups

Thursday: 10 pullups

Friday: 24 pullups

Saturday: 23 pullups

Sunday: 20 pullups

 

So that's a total of 98 for the week. Plus 28 at today's crossfit session puts me at 126, so 1,260 points so far (and briefly in first place :D )

 

Awesome to see people already improving through this PvP - keep it up everyone!

Another 100 points from 10 negatives from the a girder at work ;) They were deeply, painfully unpleasant. @Rhovaniel do you remember when you proposed this idea and I told you that I thought you were trying to kill me? This is why!! I want to win this dang thing now :D 

 

Tomorrow is a rest day. No points will be added. If anyone wants to make a break for the lead, I suggest you do it then ;)
