Suzaqu needs some delightfullness

Sorry I'm a bit late to post. I had so many ideas and was trying to weave them all into a complicated, points-based challenge, and then I was still working on getting the points balance right. So I decided to scrap it and keep it simple and just get on with it.

 

I'm going with a DeLa theme, in honor of AS4, and because this time of year is always hard for me. I ride high on the holiday joy until I crash and burn into scrooge-ery and unhappiness. So could use some help from the terminally delightful DeLa!

 

So my goals are:

1. Workout 4 times a week - 2 should be kettlebells, the rest are free choice

2. Hit my intermittent fasting goals at least 6 times a week (break fast at 12pm, stop eating at 8pm)

3. Every time I have to pack a lunch for work, I have to pack it the night before, not morning of

4. Every workday, fill up my desk bottle of water all the way and drink it all

5. Reread the S&S book

 

My first goal is pretty self explanatory, I got a lot of strength back last challenge and I want to keep it up. IF works really well for me if I stick to it, and I want to get back on it. My third goal is just to reduce stress, there's something about packing my lunch morning of that adds so much streess. Even though I have time to do it, it makes my morning miserable. (Bonus, doing this often leads to me prelogging my food which leads to healthier choices). My water goal is because I've gotten out of the habit of drinking as much water as I used to, and I need to fix that. And my last goal is because it's been a while and I want to start bumping up the weight, so reviewing technique will be good.

Good plan on reviewing S & S before you up the weight. I've re-read it a few times, ad each time it has helped me to improve. And woot for being ready to go up a weight!

Week 1 went well!

 

I failed at doing IF 2 days, one day my stomach was upset, so I ate in the morning to settle it, Friday I went out with friends for drinks to celebrate my promotion and the weekend and that started at 8, so I lost it there too. But I felt pretty good about how the week went and like it was a good start.

 

Lunch packing and water bottle filling was a win! I feel like I made good work food choices this week.

 

Workouts were exciting. On Monday I did S&S, but after I started swinging I realized I accidentally grabbed a heaver bell than my standard. So I did 40 swings with that and it felt good! So I did two of my TGUs with a heaver bell too. So my weight increase happened inadvertently, but it's started! For my second S&S, I used the same heavier weight on 2 TGUs again. Now I just gotta reread S&S.

I agree! Now that I accidentally upped it, I really need to read it. I remember that they had a nice technique to progress the weight, but I don't remember what it was.

It was definitely a fun discovery, as I had been dreading the step up.

 

Thank you! It's been in the works for a while, but it finally finalized and got announced to the group, so it was celebration time! It's a leadership role in my org, so it's a big step, but I'm excited!

Hello week 2!

So far it's going well! I fully admit that the only thing that made me pack my lunch last night for this morning was having this challenge and having to report to you guys. But it's done! I also worked out yesterday evening (bike) for the same reason. I'm going out of town this weekend to see my mom, so I know I won't be able to work out then, as time will be short, so I gotta get my 4 in now. So now I'm going for a workout streak. I'm hoping to do S&S tonight, yoga tomorrow, and S&S or other KB Friday morning (as I'm getting on a plane right after work on Friday). 

 

I'm really liking my water goal, it's also meaning that I'm drinking less coffee at work, since I have water right next to me. IF is going well, but it's still a struggle. Yesterday I was hangry, but made it to noon. So two days down this week. I'm not sure how the weekend will go on the IF front, I know my mom has at least one brunch planned, so I think Sunday will be a non-IF day, I'm hoping Saturday will be fine, but I'm not sure. I've tried to tell my mom in the past that I don't eat breakfast, but it hasn't stopped her from going out and getting lots of breakfast treats when I visit. I appreciate that she's trying to make the weekend special, but it's not good for my goals.

I'm ready for the weekend!

 

Yesterday, S&S and lunch packing were a success, and then tonight I decide to bike instead of yoga. So all I have to do is S&S tomorrow morning and I will have managed to fit it all in around the weekend travel.  I have an early meeting tomorrow, so I'll have to be efficient in the morning. To give us a break, we decided to pack tomorrow night before the flight, so tonight is more chill and I'll be ready to go tomorrow morning and kick some ass!

 

I'm happy to report that I also packed lunch again tonight, so I've succeeded at that goal all week! It really does make the mornings so much better, and it also motivates me to stay on top of the dishes so I have tuperware ready.

Ugh, so I'm the worst! The rest of the month just got crazy and I stopped posting. I managed to stick on track with all my goals, but totally shut down on the posting here. So I call it a partial win, but I really gotta get back into posting. I was so ready to get back on track for this new challenge, and then I got sick this week and all this went on the back burner. 

 

Minor updates on challenge stuff:

My husband and I started going on daily walks after work, which pushed dinner later, so I had to move my eating window later to accommodate, which meant some adjusting and trial and error in moving my window.

My lunch packing goal really helped build a new habit and I've stuck with it after the challenge into the new year.

 

Off to my next challenge! Thank you everyone for sticking with me through my spotty posting!
