Yesterday I got in a ruck to town with Mr Red and it felt glorious. I will be working this week and then spending a long NYE weekend in the mountains with my family. 2 pleasure walks minimum! EnergizerBunny Posted December 25, 2018 Report Share Posted December 25, 2018 I'm in! Just finished my first four week challenge, and am excited to keep the momentum going. Last time I kept it very concrete and manageable, and it really helped me keep it up all four week.s Fitness Goal: For my last challenge I chose to get up and move three times per week. For the next two weeks I'll keep that goal and add that one of those sessions must be at the gym. I just joined, and am excited but also very scared. Nutrition Goal: I'm going home for Christmas, and can eat what I want when I'm with family. But the other days will be business as usual. Last challenge I kept to a limit of two sugary drinks per week. I wasn't even thinking about alcohol consumption, and will deal with that next round. This time I'll keep that limit but exclude alcohol and will start logging my sugar intake. Logging all of my food would be great too, but for now we're just going to focus on my weakness so I know how much to cut back next round. Lifestyle Goal: Reflect on the year. Set goals. Nutrition Goal: I definitely gave myself a pass for the holiday, and now it's just back to three healthy meals and a cookie with my afternoon coffee. I have been meditating every day and survived two full days of family events with my sanity intact. I have NOT been keeping up the last few days... Lifestyle Goal: Declutter 10 items a day between now and 1/1. That's 60 items! jonfirestar Posted December 27, 2018 Report Share Posted December 27, 2018 Okay Since my Christmas is done with now (I'm working over New Year) lets tally this up. Fitness Goal. I ran. I did it on the 25th rather than the 24th but the run got done. I left pre-dawn on Christmas morning and got in a good 8 mile run in a small woodland park in Wales. The ground was very wet and boggy so the parts that were in the woodland were incredibly slow but I'm very pleased that it was done. On the 26th I got hope, I ate and I went to the gym. Job done. Nutrition Goal: 23rd food was good. 24th food was not out of control I was back on plan by yesterday. I'm very happy with how this turned out. I did eat all the things on Christmas day but I regret nothing. Lifestyle Goal: Read. I did read I got through about half of my book over the 3 days. I"ll go for a long walk every day that I'm not working, and take advantage of the extra days off to do 2 extra PT sessions (one on Christmas, one on New Year's Day), 3 per week instead of my usual 2. Nutrition Goal: I haven't been keeping up with my tracking, and it does make me more aware of what I'm eating. I'll enter my food in the LoseIt app by the end of every day. Lifestyle Goal: I've really been struggling with my meditation goal, even though life is pretty stressful and I probably need it now more than ever. Now while there's less time pressure will be a good time to work on rebuilding the habit. I will meditate 10 minutes every day with the Calm app. I'm pleased with how the first week of this went. Fitness Goal: Done. 3/3 planned PT sessions and 5/5 planned long walks in the woods. Nutrition Goal: I logged the same day 5/7 days, and caught up on the other 2 days the next morning. Lifestyle Goal: I used the Calm app 5/7 days. I didn't use it Christmas Eve, but late-night Christmas Eve service is pretty meditative. The only other night I missed was last night, when I got caught up in the book I was reading and lost track of bedtime. 1 Quote Link to comment

(There will certainly be rough spots in the future as this becomes real for the other person, so pray for him.) I'm doing pretty well with eating. Yay me!! Resting a writing are excellent. Submitted two different papers for consideration to present at a conference in March. Submitted one application for a doctoral program and a second one is in process. Full ride + stipend at each one. Had a brainstorm and am looking for a magazine / agent to pitch a women's empowerment travelogue piece to. I have reading and knitting in process. There is a writers conference at the end of the month.
