yesyesyes the Smallville scene ❤️ I was like AWWWWWWWW it made me happy lol.

3rd episode was like mkay mkay mkay lol My favourite episode so far is the second episode in the crossover. Also when they make jokes like "I promised my team they wouldn't be in another crossover" it amuses me so much.

LOL, yeah, I love when they make jokes like that. I think I liked the 3rd episode more than the 2nd actually LOL, especially the cameos. The Lucifer cameo was a huge surprise. I was not expecting that one, but I loved it so much., and now I want a mini series with Lucifer and Constantine. That would be so fun to watch.

        - Yoga 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week

        - Strength training 10 minutes once a week

        - Walking 30 minutes once a week ✔️ -- Meant to do some yoga but I felt like walking instead.

        - Yoga 10 minutes

        - Strength training 5 minutes

Nutrition:

100% plan:

        - Eat some fruit and veggies 2-3 times a week

10% plan:

        - Eat some fruit or veggies ✔️ -- More fruit. This is apparently a fruit week.

Intellectual:

100% plan:

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week for my new outline ✔️ -- Half the outline is down, another half to go.

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page.

Miscellaneous goals:

        - Read 1 book a week  -- Not quite done yet, still have about 20% left to go.

        - Cook once this month

        - Go to bed half an hour early  -- Eh, didn't quite make it last night. It was more like 15 minutes early rather than a half hour.

Loved last night's crossover episode! So many good points. Loved the Birds of Prey and Lucifer cameos, the heart-to-heart between Barry and Jefferson and between Kate and Kara...and then there's Lex Luthor. Such a horrible person, but such a good villain. I can't believe we have to wait until January for the last half. 😢

So there was supposed to be a rest day somewhere in here between yesterday and today, and it didn't quite happen. Although since I didn't do much today, I guess today can be a sort of rest day?

What if you assigned yourself a 'rest day task', or something like that to make it easier to remember to take a break? Maybe a colouring book or a walk outside or something?

Can confirm that taking time to rest is good. But it's weird, too; one thing I struggle with a lot is external pressure on my times of rest. Like, if I set up an alarm clock, I know I'll wake up super early because there's something about that that just cues me toward waking up. I haven't figured out what it is yet - it doesn't appear to be chemical - so I can't solve it, but I do think that the pressure's a part of it.

Which is all to say, you need to find a way toward R&R without feeling like it's something you're pressured to do. It'll interfere with your efforts if you do.

Friday's Stats:

Fitness:

100% plan:

        - Yoga 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week

        - Strength training 10 minutes once a week

        - Walking 30 minutes once a week

10% plan:

        - Yoga 10 minutes

        - Strength training 5 minutes

Ended up working a little later than planned, so no workout again. Bosses have been telling us for the last few weeks that our volume would be slowing down for the next few months, but I'm not seeing it yet.

Nutrition:

100% plan:

        - Eat some fruit and veggies 2-3 times a week  ✔️ -- Had some fruit, and veggies for both lunch and dinner. First time in a while doing both in one day. Score.

10% plan:

        - Eat some fruit or veggies

Intellectual:

100% plan:

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️ -- Revised about a page and a half. I'm having some issues with this part, can't figure out the right amount of tension for this scene quite yet. It's driving me a little crazy. 😕

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week for my new outline

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page.

Miscellaneous goals:

        - Read 1 book a week  ✔️ -- I've reached 29 books this year. If I can get to 30 books by the end of the year, I'll be happy (though of course I'm aiming for more).

        - Cook once this month -- I think I might cook this weekend. We'll see.

        - Go to bed half an hour early  -- 15 minutes early again.

I have posts to respond to, but my brain is dead tonight, so I think I'll go watch some mindless TV for a bit. I'll respond tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good night. :)

Yeah I may have to do that, otherwise I will definitely forget and I'll try to keep pushing until I can't take anymore. Which is probably not a good way to operate LOL.

It's not really something I feel pressured to do, more like the opposite. I decide to take a break, or I tell myself I'm going to take a break, and then I turn around and say, "Well, but I can still do this, that and the other first, I should do that" and then the break/rest day never happens. So a rest day is something I need to figure out how to incorporate and also make sure I don't feel like I'm being lazy and unproductive.

Is there a way to get in a short walk or desk stretch at work? Would something like that count under your 10% plan?

Probably, if I could ever get away from my desk. ;)  I've been trying to take the stairs a couple of times a day at work that way at least I get in some form of exercise if I don't end up doing anything else, but it depends on how busy I am.

Do you ever get so involved with something that you forget to eat?

I'm thinking that's what is going on. I've had that problem before.

Mmm, yeah sounds like that's probably it. That happens to me sometimes too, though usually it's because I'm not that hungry or I don't feel like eating and then it comes back to bite me later.

Hi, thank you for checking in! I really appreciate it. :D Doing all right, I've got my updates below. :)

Yesterday I was super exhausted so I decided it would be a rest day. We were just slow enough that I could leave work a little early, so I read for a while (finally got A Discovery of Witches from the library, I've been waiting for it for months after I saw the TV show. I'm thinking I like the show better, but the book's not too bad so far.) and watched a movie. Amazing how much free time I have when I'm not working all the time. Anyway, picked right back up with the routine today, surprisingly feeling 100%.

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️  -- Moved the last 5 pages to the next chapter and am working on expanding them. I wasn't sure this was the right move at first but now I'm pretty happy with it. This scene definitely needs another page or two (or three maybe) and some things fleshed out a little more.

It's getting about that time to take a look at everything I've done over the last few weeks and start making adjustments. Need to think about it for a bit.

I had my writing mentor take a look at my last chapter and she gave me all kinds of good feedback, so I've gone back through the whole thing between yesterday and today. I think my problem was that I didn't have the villain's motivation in this scene fully fleshed out. Now that I do, it changes things. Like, a lot of things, LOL. Hopefully I can have it all fixed in the next few days. That will give me a better idea of how to move forward in the next chapter.

I've been thinking about my goals for 2020. I think my fitness and nutrition goals will stay the same-ish for a while, but I'm considering my creativity/miscellaneous goals. I know I want to add more reading (and writing, of course, always the writing), but I'm debating whether I want to add a drawing goal again. I had one this year but then between the day job and working on my novel, it kind of fell by the wayside. I'm not sure if I want to add it again, but I miss it (not that I'm very good, mind, but it's fun). So, still debating. 😕

I think my problem was that I didn't have the villain's motivation in this scene fully fleshed out. Now that I do, it changes things. Like, a lot of things, LOL. Hopefully I can have it all fixed in the next few days. That will give me a better idea of how to move forward in the next chapter.

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week for my new outline

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page.

Miscellaneous goals:

        - Read 1 book a week

        - Cook once this month

        - Go to bed half an hour early -- Only went to bed about 20 minutes early last night, but still better than nothing.

You're making great progress!

I was thinking about drawing too. I'm very much a beginner though.

Thank you! :)

I've drawn off and on over the years so I'm not quite a beginner, but it's not something I've ever done seriously. However, I have some drawing how-to books I've never really looked at and that I'd like to make use of so I'd like to make it more of a habit. ;)

I had planned to do all this work today but decided after I got off work that I didn't want to do anything. It's Christmas Eve, dang it, and I wanted to enjoy it. So I binge watched a few episodes of The Gifted season 2 and Legacies season 1 while I wrapped presents. I'm telling myself not to regret the downtime, but it's hard.

Oh, and I also did weights for a few minutes, had 2 servings of fruit and I wrote some notes for this chapter.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great Christmas Eve and that you all have a great Christmas tomorrow (for those who celebrate).
