A Druid's Battle Log

I think I'm going to start a weekly review to gauge how I'm doing week to week. This may need some tweaking, but let's see how it goes. I may add a grading system too, I'm not sure yet. 

 

Week 1 progress:

 

Fitness:

Nutrition:

 

Healthy foods, at least 1 serving: fruit 4/7

Miscellaneous goals:

       

Reading: 3/7

Cook Sunday breakfast: 1/1

Early bedtime: 3/7

Draw: 1/1

De-clutter: 1/1

 

Overall, not a bad start to the new year.

And now on to the new week. Sunday's Stats:

 

Fitness:

 

100% plan: 

        - Yoga 20-30 minutes 3 times a week 

        - Strength training 10 minutes once a week  

        - Walking 30 minutes once a week 

 

10% plan:

        - Yoga 10 minutes 

        - Strength training 5 minutes ✔️ -- Did some weights and box squats.

 

 

Nutrition:

 

100% plan: 

        - Eat 1 serving of fruit and veggies 2-3 times a week  

 

10% plan:

        - Eat 1-2 servings of fruit or veggies every day ✔️ -- 1 serving of fruit. 

 

 

Intellectual:

 

100% plan:

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️ -- Was mostly brain dead today but I finished the last few pages again. Still need to go back through one more time and make a few tweaks, but otherwise I feel so much better about this chapter. Hopefully after this last run through I can finally move on. 

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week 

 

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page. 

 

 

Miscellaneous goals:

        - Read 30 minutes a day -- Will do after I log off. 

        - Cook breakfast on Sundays ✔️ -- Just some scrambled eggs with some salt and pepper. Nothing fancy. 

        - Go to bed half an hour early 

        - Draw once a week 

        - De-clutter the junk room once a week 

 

Super low energy day, but still managed to get a few things done. And now I'm almost caught up on the Mandalorian. Pretty decent show.

        - Strength training 10 minutes once a week ✔️ -- Didn't want to do any workouts today, but I made myself do one anyway. And I think I overdid it a little bit, because my split squats by the end were pretty wobbly and my knee didn't like it. Ugh.

        - Walking 30 minutes once a week

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️ -- Still a little brain dead but I went over a few pages and I think I finally figured something out. I kept trying different scenarios for this small bit in this scene and while each one was better than the last, it still didn't seem quite right, but I think I've got it now. Rewrote a little bit of it, and now it sings. That's when I know it's right. Of course, I might see it differently tomorrow, but hopefully not. 

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week 

 

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page.

        - Read 30 minutes a day ✔️ -- Got in 30 minutes before bed last night.

A bit brain dead tonight, so I think I'll go watch a movie for a bit and then hopefully head to bed early.

LOL, I don't know, I don't think they're that bad for the most part. If I don't do them right though, my knee definitely feels it.

Decided to skip the workout today since I overdid it a bit yesterday and focus on my writing. I think it paid off. I'm pretty happy with this chapter now. Just need to finish tweaking the last half and then move on.

        - Yoga 10 minutes ✔️ -- Got in about 15 minutes and then had to call it quits. I think I didn't eat enough today.  

        - Strength training 5 minutes

        - Eat 1-2 servings of fruit or veggies every day ✔️ -- Had 2 servings of fruit.

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️ -- Meh. I was aiming for 10 pages and managed 3. I wanted to finish today, but I guess it'll take me another day or two. 

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week

        - Revise half a page.

Ugh, I'm so behind on everyone's threads. Need to catch up. I really pushed to get this chapter done and I finished it today and sent it off to my mentor. I think, for the most part, it's done, and I won't have to do any more major rewrites. It just might need some tweaking. But that all depends on what my mentor says. 

 

Anyway, my friend is in town with her babies (eek!! I finally got to meet them!!), so my plans the next few days may be off. I went over to visit her today and helped with the babies, held them, carried them around etc. That counts as strength training right?

Spent the last two days hanging out with my friend and helping with the babies, and now my arms and shoulders are killing me LOL. I don't know how she does it every day. They were so super cute though and their personalities are so different. One was super chill, and the other was...dramatic LOL. I'm pretty sure I know who the trouble-maker will be when they grow up. :D 

 

Anyway, now I need to start getting back on track with everything.

Today was not a very productive day. I had my meeting with my mentor in the afternoon and I was so nervous about it that I couldn't focus on anything. I didn't even eat most of the day. But I did laundry, caught up on a few episodes I missed and then tried to read a little bit until she called. Don't know why I was so worried though, because she said she loved it. She said it was much stronger than the last time and that I only needed to do a few tweaks and it was good to go, which made me super happy. Now to make the changes and move on to the next chapter. Roughly 5 chapters left now. :) 

 

So, didn't really do anything I'd planned today. But at least I had 1 and a half servings of fruit after the meeting. 

 

ETA: Also did 3 sets of box squats.

        - Strength training 10 minutes once a week ✔️ -- More like 20 minutes, mostly because I had to take longer breaks this time around. Was a little bit harder to get through today.

Still sore from strength training yesterday so took today as a rest day.

And because I didn't cook over the weekend I picked up a rotisserie chicken and frozen veggies, which I had for lunch. But that apparently took too much willpower, because then I had pop tarts for dinner. 😂

        - Eat 1-2 servings of fruit or veggies every day 

 

 

Intellectual:

 

100% plan:

        - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day ✔️ -- A bit of a fight to focus today, but I got through almost half the edits on this chapter. Hoping to be done by tomorrow so I can start the next. 

        - Write down 1 new plot point a week 

 

10% plan:

        - Revise half a page. 

 

 

Miscellaneous goals:

        - Read 30 minutes a day ✔️ -- Finished another book last night (I ended up skimming the last third, which is why I didn't go to bed early last night). That makes 4/40 for the year. I'm on a roll. 

        - Cook breakfast on Sundays 

        - Go to bed half an hour early 

        - Draw once a week

I love the structure of your thread and the way it allows you to choose between 100% and 10%. Seems like a great way to keep things flexible but make sure you are still moving forward at least a little bit every day.
