Rules

MGQpETi.png

Pick something from the TODO-list, and do it! :)

For every week I'll pick a "TODO of the week".

Complete a task and tell us what you've done - 10 points

Write about what you did (at least 50 words) - 2 points

Post a photo of what you did - 2 points

Post a video of what you did - 3 points

Post a video where you show and tell us what you did (vlog) - 5 points

Completing the "TODO of the week" - 5 points

The points add up, so if you both post a photo and a video and you tell us what it is you did you earn 15 points (10 for doing it, 2 for the photo and 3 for the video)

For some flexibility I'll allow anyone to complete two tasks in a single week. I'll also let anyone do the same task twice, if they want. Any more than that and no extra points will be rewarded for the additional tasks. I will also not award points for any more than 52 completed tasks.

(The reason for the "TODO of the week" is that it's more fun if we all do the same thing, and get to compare what we've done)

Full credit to @Arkania for the idea and the initial list

I'm in for this, but I may skip or do something else on the "make galaxy shoes" week.  I have no need or desire to own a pair of galaxy shoes :P

I'm in! I would like to add something like "Buy something you have never eaten and take a picture of it, once a week". Of course this doesn't need to be something expensive, just something you have never tried.

And "practice jiu jitsu, or any other martial art for atleast 6 hours per week" or three times per week.

And "pick one exercise which doesn't require weights and practice it for at least 200 repetitions per week."

Let me know what do you think about it :D

This is already on the list :) Second last point "Buy a food you've never eaten before". (It was second last when I wrote this - it isn't anymore...)

I'll add "Practice martial arts" to the list. I'll leave it up to yourself to decide how much/for how long you want to do it

Always great with more ideas on what to do Thumbs Up

Yeah, that's where I got the initial "The List" from :)

You can use it to track and add stuff, that's what I meant :D

(So you don't have to c+p it in a post all the time)

Interesting concept you have here. I just stumbled upon this thread while I was browsing the home page of the forum. My phone lets me know when you post new content in your challenge thread but it doesn't give me notifications when you post completely new topics. If it's okay with you I'd like to play just to see how much self-improvement I can achieve. Some of them look really hard but I guess that's why it's called a challenge :). Also, I don't have access to some of the items on the list so I won't be able to get all of them done. I don't know how many people can say the same.

@WhiteGhost I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean... Care to elaborate?

Originally this was going to be "learn Morse Code", but I wanted to make it more general so I dropped the "Morse" part.  I suppose I should have changed to to say "learn a cipher or a code".  I suppose "learn a few lines of some computer code" would also be something good to add to the list. :)

I thought about this. I'm with you on not needing a pair of galaxy shoes.

So I'll change that one to "Customize a pair of shoes", then I'll leave it up to whoever does it how elaborate they want to make it :)

This challenge inspired me to get back into studying Japanese because I've been slacking off recently. I've already learned numbers 1-10, some of the colors, and all of the syllables and I'm picking up vocabulary words along the way. I'd say it took me around 2 months. I'm excited to learn 5 new words and cross that off the list. When I first started learning the Japanese kana and hiragana I had a ton of trouble and sometimes had to look in my book for the answers. Now when I see the kana and hiragana I instantly recognize them in the same time it takes to blink my eye. The brain is like putty, it can be shaped and molded to learn all sorts of new things, but every time I face a new challenge my brain still tells me "this is too hard, you won't be able to do this".

Wait until after Jan 1 with reporting that in and you'll earn some challenge points for them ;)

Can "waking up at the desired hour without hitting the snooze" be a thing? I used to be a very early riser and I want it back :D also, the time will vary, not everyone can wake up at 4 am.

Another thing might be "substitute a bad habit you have with a good one" like reading a book instead of watching TV.

If they are already on the list I apologize, is quite a long list and is easy to miss things :P

It would be interesting to create a Discord server for this challenge, is quite odd but I find writing here in forum in some way uncomfortable
