TODO 2019 PvP [Jan 1 - Dec 29]

I'm excited about the challenge this week! It's perfect - I got a book about sprouting at the library last week, but haven't started reading it yet. Will hopefully have something growing by the end of the week Lab tube

I have already thought about the stuff I want to put in the garden. But this won't work until May, so I will take some of the seeds and plant it inside before taking them outside in some time (or maybe not). I already have some seeds, have to check which ones. Also have a lot of books about gardening (some of them my grandma used) maybe I will read some.

My challenge of the week is: Meditate/Yoga every day.

I'm so far behind on reporting the tasks I've done :(  But I'll never catch up if I never start... Two weeks ago I did two tasks.

The first task was "Go for a walk picking up at least five pieces of trash along the way and throwing in a garbage can"

20190303_130136.jpg.0f631f4bda0c5525ceb9f7eb8be5d280.jpg

As I said when that task was randomly selected I didn't actually think I'd find that much trash along the roads here out in the woods. Especially not when there was snow covering the ground. So I waited until the snow had melted away, and then I went for a walk. I took a photo of all the items as I found them, before picking them up. But I'm not posting all of those photos. Just two of them. I also recorded a short movie when throwing the pieces of trash in our garbage can, just because it's fun to record movies :) And I made a short vlog about it too!

The second task I did two weeks ago was the actual task for that week, which was "Get a massage". I made my wife give me a back massage. Used the same oil that I used when I gave her a massage.

Here's a few seconds long recording of my wife massaging the upper part of my back. As I mention in the vlog (further down) I get knots in my upper back and shoulder muscles from working in front of the computer all day. I also have a bit of a problem with the lower back muscles right above the right pelvic bone, so she rubbed that area as well

And I recorded a vlog for this challenge too

I should ask her to give me massages more often :D

Final update for now is for last week's challenge, which was to declutter at home. I realized that decluttering my entire house, or even an entire room in one go would be too big of a undertaking, so I went for just clearing out one cupboard, cleaning it, sorting through everything in there and then putting back what I wanted to keep. It's the cupboard in the kitchen where we keep all our tea.

Here's a photo of the knives I mention in the vlog

Glad to have you here again! Thumbs Up It's more work than you'd think doing all these TODO challenges, isn't it? :)

It really is.  Speaking of which, I am going to fail again this week - I have plenty of excuses (don't know where to buy seeds, garden, etc.) but the real reason is that I have no confidence the plants would survive. All of our house plant plants have a very low survival rate  :D

I hear ya!  If it wasn't for my wife I'd only have fake plastic flowers in my windows!

I finally completed task 93. It took me a few weeks to pick up 5 pieces of trash because I kept stopping at 2 or 3 pieces during the day. I did it over the course of my work day, I hope that still counts.

I've just "planted" my seeds, and recorded a vlog. Will hopefully find time during the day to edit and post the video!

Also I put a sapling from my money plant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crassula_ovata in another flowerpot.

I'm impatient with my planting/growing stuff. So I chose cress and chia. Should be ready to harvest in less than a week! Perfect :) Everyone I know have probably tried growing cress at least once in their life. But chia is not as common. It'll be interesting to see what I and the rest of the family thinks about the taste. A bit of an experiment is always fun Lab tube

I recorded the vlog/video holding my phone in one hand and trying to do everything with the other hand. It's more difficult than you would think! :D But after a retake or two, and some editing it turned out alright Thumbs Up

Here's s a photo of the "planted" seeds

I prepared the seeds at about noon today, and then I took this photo about ten hours later, and I can already see things happening with the cress seeds. They are much bigger now, and some are even starting to crack a little bit. It'll be interesting to see how much happens during the night!

Cool to see so much growth already with the cress! The chia doesn't look very promising though :(

The meal I remember from my childhood the most is macaroni & cheese with hot dogs which I didn't want to eat. I made pizza burgers my mom used to make. It didn't taste the same though. Daughter liked but son didn't even though he ate two. He'll eat anything after lacrosse practice! 5c20487403f29a234f69e9cd34097463.jpg
