Week 2 Day 1

 

Friday i did a lifting session in the morning, in the afternoon i visited a client who received a new laptop which had to be configured.

Saturday i had to work, and in the evening we had the inlaws over.

Sunday i transferred the pc from the dinner table to my corner of the remodeled attic and we had dinner at the inlaws (as usual on sunday).

Week 2 Day 3

 

Pretty busy, working, coming home for dinner, took my to speech lessons. Came home, changed gear, went lifting.

 

Somehow the paused squat really fatigued me (especially my arms), which meant i skipped the last set of the program. Next time i will just deload. After the paused squat it was time for the Overhead press, but my arms felt like jelly going in, so i just did the prescribed sets. Last was the Barbell Row. Which went pretty good (which is odd, cause my arms were pretty busted before my OHP but were feeling pretty good rowing.

 

After the workout i watched a little TV but i fell asleep on the couch, just to wake up with an appetite, so i made some stuff before i went to bed.

More and more green and less and less red showing up on the update posts. Keep up the good work!

 

Maybe it was tri's and shoulders that were more tired out from the squats than your back and bi's as they tried to keep the bar on your back for a longer period of time? More of an isometric hold for those muscles? I think I could see that happening with the mechanics of the lift.

That's because you were different muscles for the rows than you were for the presses.

When i ran a program a year ago, i had this when my setup on my back was too tight (hands not wide enough), i ended up carrying weight with my arms, and not solely with my back.

 

OHP, next to SQ is one of my strong suits, yeah i'm a freak like that. Don't know many people that favor the OHP and SQ.

No it were my Bi's. I have felt them all the week, with all kinds of stuff (like pulling myself up some stairs). Oow well. They have rested pretty well the last couple of days, so i'll see today what's gonna happen.

Yeah i know the row uses a lot of muscles in the back, but the odd thing was, OHP isn't that very depended on Bi's either, though that were the one that were hurting. So i thought that would hamper me on the row too. Like @Raxie said:

Week 2 Day 7

 

Okay, a pretty interesting end of the week.

 

  • Friday's lifting session felt really good, in contrary to wednesday's lifting session.
  • Saturday morning i went for a short run (5K) in -2c
  • I have decided to officially enroll in the powerlifting meet May 25th and 26th (now just actually do it)
  • Sundaymorning we bought a boatload of LED lights, and sundayevening i exchanged almost all of our lights with LED's, this is not very challenge related, though somehow this gave me a huge sense of accomplishment. Probably because last few weeks i have been calculating on what type of solar panel system i want to buy. I work at this "solar"-wholesale-company, and they made me a rough calculation on a system that i will probably have earned back in 4-5 years on savings on my electrical bill. This somehow has triggered a "greener" version of me. And i'm looking into all kind of ways to save money, became more independent and greener. It's been fun to have a new rabbit hole to disappear into.

Week 3 Day 2

 

My god, yesterday was terrible. I made dinner for the kids as the wife had a late shift. Afterwards we all played a game on the nintendo switch. And that was it, i tried to get some shut-eye as the kids were watching TV but it wasn't working. By the time the wife was home i felt really crappy, and turned in with the kids. This morning i had a hard time waking up, and i stayed in bed for an extra hour.

Checked off all the goals. Lifting session felt good. Upped all the lifts a little. Even had a decent night of sleep. Only dinner wasn't stellar, as the kids demanded, fastfood, and i caved pretty fast.

 

Best sets:

2ct paused squat: 259lbs (117.5 KG) 5 reps @ RPE9
