I'm 2891 miles since Jan 1, 2018

so far as the "mordor walk' goes.... I'm doing good and coasting towards getting back to the shire (3404)

OTOH

the A100 endurance walk.  that's more of a concern.  as you might remember I didn't make it Last year.  I don't want to be a gloomy Eeyore about it; but I'll need all the manic energy of Tigger to be properly prepared for that walk!

anyways I'm not sure all these New references to Winnie the Pooh is a Theme; but it is an odd mood I'm having today.

Just know that I'm entirely thinking of the Old Movie... Disney properly ruined the whole cute movie by rampant commercialism- and became less artistic and interesting in squeezing every last buck out of the idea.

there's no wuzzle or hephalump as bad as the evil dude in disney that trashed what could have a been (simply) a great classic cartoon.

----

thanks for stopping by!

today was busy in the morning and looks (increasingly) busy in the evening, so I'll have to catch y'all next year.

Sounds like a good start to the year, already.

You'll get the mileage and preparations for the A100 done/in, I'm sure of that.

so the Holidays are Over!

alas, way too MUCH manac energy.  why must we be so spastic, distracted, and unuseful!

the "rabbit" in me is dazed and shocked!

we need to get life under control; and not bouncing all around wasting time.

De0RUYOWAAE_o-M.jpg

at home my daughter has felt the holidays too much as well.  she needs to get back to work, my son needs to get back to school, and there's things to do here at work.  everyone wants to party, tune out, and be lazy...

but that never goes very well.

I never properly set my goals or my challenge... but its actually rather simple (and MORE simple than last challenge)

1)  Exercise every OTHER day.

2)  Chess study every OTHER day.

3)  have an early Morning every OTHER day.

4) piano practice 3 x a week

5)  Maintain my current habits completely

*3 nights of chess gaming (1-3 chess games) with brief analysis afterwards

               *3 episodes of chess tactic

               *1 long hike a week

*1 hour of climbing a week

               * do something each monday at the YMCA

....

so call it the Every Other Goals.  one should be doing something REAL every other day, if one expects real progress on these things.  otherwise, we just get flat "stuck"

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRX6_AYK1OycOYVZKvpsju

we can't have that.

And so you'll be busy every single day, but only every other day with the same thing ;) Looks good, and seems logical. I love Winnie the Pooh, and friends.

time to switch themes.

anyways, I'm Late! i'm late (for a zillion things)

latest?cb=20110123224607

but today starts the trip DOWN the rabbit hole!!!  mind your feet.  don't thoughtless "eat me' or 'drink me'... (cuz of poison, yo')

Oh and more important than themes.  Week 1. Starts Tomorrow!!

and I'm so glad.  week 0 was a "white roses" kind of week' and the queen wants Red ones!!!

latest?cb=20110123223108

so OFF with its head and with a dash to keep up with that endlessly running bunny; we will switch weeks and let the little king ramble on some.

as long as I win ALL games.  (chess games, croquet, etc)... we're fine!  better than fine if someone sings me a happy unbirthday song.

how is it that disney NEVER did had the sequel fever about wonderland?  there was def source material.  no word, not one casual reference to the Jabberwocky.

Because they were afraid of competing with the dazzling special effects of Terry Gilliam's Jabberwocky?

I have an Alice in Wonderland tattooooo :) xx

cool!

I honestly haven't read the books but I get the feeling that there are a bit more interesting than the movie.

... and notice that disney has NOT once tried to do a sequel!  was it just Not that popular of a movie?  perhaps its a little hard for kids to follow, and doesn't break down to the typical princess to riches stories that made disney great.

idk.

for the purposes of this week;  I find myself in a unfamiliar place looking to home and very curious with the distractions around me.

and like the dog wiping away footpaths; as you've been distracted into the dark wood... its easy- Quite easy! to find time slipping away from you; your goals further away than ever-

but Life is a little more changeable than that! and the cheshire cat is Never lost neither.

take the short cut; and meet the red queen.  she has a fearsome anger but considerable power in her little world.

there is also the "grow a mile" tall gambit.  but THAT is a story for another day.

Don't Give up!  your closer to achieving your goals than you Might expect!  embrace wierdness and unexpected changes.

and to be circular ; please be careful with things marked "eat me".  irl, they tend to also be marked as "dorito" and "chocolate".... and the LAST thing I want to do is get to big and stuck in a house.

Oh hi!

Yeah I think the movie did okay but the fact it was more of an abstract dream sequence meant that they found other easier things to adapt. But I always did like how calm Alice was mot of the time. She just rolls with it.

The more I read this, the more I remember that, oh!  Young Shaar went to drama camp one summer and had a sizeable role in the Alice in Wonderland play!  I was the Caterpillar!! ^______________^

I also remembered the song we had to sing.... "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date, no time to say hello goodbye I'm late I'm late I'm late I'm late AND, when I wave, I lose the time I save, my fuzzy ears and whiskers took me too much time to shave!, He runs and then he hops hops hops he wishes he could fly! There's danger if he dares to stop and here's the reason why you see I'm - overdue, I'm in a rabbit stew!, no time to say goodbye hello I'm late I'm late I'm late!!"

MY GOD I can sing that note for note from what, 25 years ago, but I can't remember if I have enough panko in the cabinet or if I got it at the store this week.....

My tattoo ... (the bolded bit)

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here."

Ha! so true....  its a was a good idea I think to affirm that though you have your challenges, your a person and you deserve respect!  just as much as ANYONE.

not a good morning.

Missed my chance to do weight lifting... I almost , in fact, was late for work.  my program really had a bad setback when I lost control of my mornings and I was getting alot of exercise in the morning.

On the CHESS;

I had a somewhat bizarre experience.  me and my chess teacher were doing a lesson last night.  our lessons Are invariably to get into an online game and talk through the positions... his insight's are invaluable and I work hard to understand (better) how he thinks at the board.

Last night, I was doing good mostly winning myself; and my coach was complimenting me how much I was seeing.  I have Good Nights- when it comes to the chess, and clearly last night was  good night.

but oddly, I had REAL problems with time.

I play chess games that take 15 minutes per side , with 10extra seconds per move.

this works out to about a 40minute game.  well LAST night I guess I was seeing so much more that in an effort to talk it over with my teacher- I ended up losing 2 games in a row!  he allowed a third game with less talking and I won quite easily.

....

so we again are back to the topic of being LATE and RUSHED!  sometimes, in chess and in Life, we get sabotaged by our own effort to be perfect or to over-obsess on plans.  its quite critical in chess to realize that not every choice needs agonized quite so much.... I was happy to be winning!  but by overthinking things you can end up losing too...

anyways Just a little thought I had, now in my lunch hour here at work.

I love how BUSY the forums seem right now.
