Endor
I had a great lunch with my friend yesterday, he didn't have an agenda, was just delivering on a promise a long time ago to let me drive his 1995 special edition WRX. A long term desire fulfilled, it didn't disappoint. In the morning I had decided to book an exam I needed to get done by end of next week for today (Saturday). I just passed It was much more difficult than I expected but that's it done for another 2 years now thankfully. It's an important milestone for the company, I am the only one who is certified and we need the certs for our partner status and rebates. A great sense of achievement and now I can relax the rest of the weekend. I'm feeling happy, something that's been missing for a while, hopefully I am turning a corner. 4 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment
Endor
I/V company called me, they wanted to progress me to next stage which is a psychometric test. I declined and have withdrawn my application. I'm drifting between relief it's the right decision and concern I've let an opportunity go. 2 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment

Being your first interview and given that you haven't applied for a job in years, you could focus on the interview going so well that they called you back to continue the recruiting process, which is good in itself. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks. In my current role I have full control over my time and hours, as long as the work gets delivered they don't care when it gets done or from where. Sometimes i only go to the city once in a month and work the rest of the time from home. It's a pretty sweet deal 5 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment
Endor
I'm realising that most of my socialising is around alcohol, now that i stopped drinking I look around and there aren't many friends to be seen. I want to get fit and healthy again so i can get back to some of the sport I used to do. I finally did some weight lifting in my garage, it helped a lot so I guess I'll be doing more of that....if I can walk tomorrow! I'm probably going to book a motorcycle tour tomorrow, need something to look forward to. 3 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment

I see how that can be a problem. But maybe with time you'll be able to see those friends without the urge to drink alcohol. 2 Quote Link to comment

Endor
Goals and such are on point without even that much effort. I have been craving sugar today though, maybe as a result of having a couple cokes at the pub last night. Fortunately nothing in the house so had to wait it out and eventually the craving passed. That motorcycle trip you mentioned is another cool chance. 2 Quote Lvl 60 Multitasker Baking (2)🧁, Charisma (4)🕶️s, Cooking (7)🍳, Fitness (2)💪💪, Gourmet Cooking (3), Handiness (0), Media Production (6)🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬, Mixology (3)🍸, Research & Debate (1)📖, Video Gaming (3)🎮🎮, Wellness (2) Link to comment

I've also been considering doing some local volunteer work for a long time and not really known what I would like to do. I was talking to the hairdresser last week while she was cutting my hair about her son who is 14 and going to an as yet unknown foreign country for a year as a cultural experience (applied for countries were Finland, Poland and Mexico). It's being paid for in the main by the local Rotary club. Now that is an idea I could get behind, I got a lot out of spending my summers in France in a small village when i was that age. No one spoke English and I had to eat totally alien food (OMG a cows brain). I think i might investigate what the Rotary is all about. This is also why i'm thinking of going back to Crossfit, it's just so expensive though but maybe I will at some point. 1 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment
Endor
I did quite a lot of reading on vitamin D deficiency today. I'm suspecting this might be a contributer to my low mood (which is 85% back to normal). Went to the pharmacy and started taking vit D and Magnesium supps today, may take a month or 2 to build up but we'll see if it helps... Endor
how's things going now? Thanks for asking, really, I appreciate it. I am heaps better, maybe it's placebo but I feel like the Vit D and Magnesium have made a big difference. I've also got handed a boatload of work which has helped keep me occupied and feeling useful. I do need to be more proactive in reaching out to friends to meet up though. As you get older (I'm 44) it's very easy for people to get caught up in the day to day and let weeks or months go by without seeing your friends. It can be especially easy if they have kids (I don't). I'm wanting to set something up so I have an event to look forward to, I had planned a motorbike trip but it's fallen through. On the work front I have a lot of overtime coming up, I'm negotiating with my wife for the extra funds to go into a motorbike fund, it will be a miracle if I pull this one off [emoji38] 4 Quote Endor, LVL 45 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Feb-March 2022 Challenge Link to comment
Big_Show
Glad to hear you're doing better mate. I know just what you mean about having to put effort in to meeting up with friends, we keep somehow running out of time too despite best intentions.
