Darkfoxx 53: No Bells, No Whistles

LOOK AT THAT, I’M EARLY AND IT DIDN’T EVEN TAKE SIDE EYE

 

Again with the lack of bells, whistles, themes or gifs. Or even 3 goals.

 

This cycle, I’m bending to peer pressure and checking out that damn hyperbole cult workout DH has been loving: Soflete.

 

And I’ll be modifying as desired, because fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck working out for an hour and a half. And cardio after weightlifting. That can all suck it.

 

Also modifying movements as necessary, with an eye on remaining as injury-free as when I’ve got my trainer - or as near to that as I can, at least; it’s me, after all.

 

This first cycle has 48 days of workouts; I’ll be doing 4-5 a week instead of 6, so I may take 60. I should get up and take ‘before’ pics, but I’m pooped and lazy, so I’ll take them tomorrow - weighed myself and took my measurements; may or may not post - we shall see how the day shakes out.*

 

Also, I’m aiming to take daily food collage pics, since that really worked well for me while in the US. Ate like garbagio when I got back, but kept my shit together while gone at least.

 

*I love how i pre-shame myself for being lazy and/or vain and invariably talk myself into posting in like 2 paragraphs. [emoji38][emoji38]

Maybe I’ll check in with these every Monday?

 

Starting measurements according to doing them myself vaguely haphazardly on my way to the gym in hopes that there’s a definite ‘before’:

 

82cm underbust

76cm waist

107cm hips

50cm right thigh

51.5cm left thigh

29cm left bicep

29cm right bicep

As an example, here is the overview of the Day 1 Workout:

DH came with me to the gym to spot - my starting 1 rep max with back squats is 40kg.

I didn’t really do the multi-reps after finding my max; and I had a little in the tank, but the movement makes me nervous.

Skipped the stamina section.

Skipped the movement work.

My workout lasted 1 hour.

I am! It’s chilly in my apartment and I’m not looking forward to it being windier, but it’s good.

Yesterday

Passed my driving signals test and scheduled my road test.

Breakfast with friends was good per usual.

Found my overhead press max - 25kg - and completes 3/4 of my workout.

Batch cooked a bunch.

Thursday

Play date day with new wiener friends at their place - had a good day getting to know someone new and playing with 3 dachshunds.

Skipped my cardio workout - DH picked me up on the way home.

Dinner: The last of the leftover roast beef & dairy free au gratin potatoes

Obedience class at the beach with Pupper - snuggles on the couch afterward.

Debated on whether to get my cardio in but was worried about being injured for Saturday’s SUP.

Smoothie for breakfast
Leftover shiritaki noodles, bacon, roasted broccoli, guac & Miso Pesto for lunch
Snack Thai lime chili cashews & corn nuts
Dinner was leftover balsamic smashed butternut & eggs since we only had enough chicken for 1

Saturday

Yet another play date - this time a wiener walk in the park.

Breakfast burrito with zaatar chips from my favorite healthy takeaway.

Nap with Pupper.

Suuuuuuuuuuuper could have done with veggies for the day.

Did I mention yesterday my stomach has been jacked lately? I think roasted broccoli may be the culprit behind the jack-Ed-ness (tons of gas and bloating, which of course in turn makes me much more apt to be nauseous). Even though broccoli is like my (second) favorite vegetable, I think I’ll be giving it a rest - I hadn’t had it in months before this last bulk batch I roasted up, and I don’t remember being this uncomfortable for the last few months either. Other shit has happened to make me nauseous to be sure, but less stabby from gas buildup in the guts.

This puts me at 2 planned workouts, 2 active days, and 3 days spent on broadening my social horizons - 4, actually - we had a new person at coffee on Tuesday.

Sunday

Wasn’t the best of days. Huge fight with the DH over Call Of Duty time + the lack of immediate SUP in his life and how that’s been my fault he hasn’t gone previously because that’s really his best life and not just him wanting to spend a bunch of cash on a whim like every other sportsing thing. See also: a fight over whether I *needed* tissue paper to store ornaments or should just shove them in a bag because it doesn’t matter anyways.

We were in fantastic adulting form.

Suuuuuuuuuuuper over it, I am [emoji38]

Finally gave up and had breakfast at around 11 - leftover guac & a mini sleeve of Ritz crackers

Skipped lunch because angery

Dinner was 4 rice thins: half with tomato jam, half with peanut butter

Snack was dry popcorn with furikake because Calories

Did nothing but fight, grocery shop, get tissue paper with a quick mall walk so I could put up the Christmas ornaments, put up the damn ornaments, and run out of Internet while Netflix was idly scrolled through. For like hours.

Also didn’t make smoothies for the next day because I’m a mature adult and wanted one of us to starve.

Fine form, I’m telling ya.

Peanut butter rice thins breakfast

Trainer bailed so I did 30 mins on the treadmill, walking, at max incline

Lunch with a girlfriend
