2. Run 3x per week, except for race weeks

 

3. Do Kettlebell routine x2 per week

 

4. Cut back the booze (1 drink on week nights, 2 per weekend day)

 

5. Save for 2020 vacation (~$7K)

A 5 mile run to kick off the new year.

 

Going to look into replacing my Garmin 225 but not sure if I want to get the 35 or the 235 ... research is needed

Kettlebell TRX combo circuit!

  • 5 x Goblet Squats (16kg)
  • 10 Lunges (5 per side w/ 10 kg)
  • 5 x Deadlift (16kg)
  • 10 TRX high rows
  • 10 TRX low rows
  • 10 TRX chest presses

Repeat to taste ... or 3 times if you're me

Signed up for the SF Half-Marathon which is on Feb 3 so the debate is for the SF Marathon in July which has a 6 hour course limit and my Chicago time was 6hr10min ... the question is can I shave the time off to make the course limit.

Well you have nearly 7 months.  Seems doable if it is an important goal to you.

 

I have used the same forerunner 235 for over 2 years now and like it.  Sometimes the HR is not picked up correctly (like 66% of where it should be so it is obvious to me that it is wrong, but annoying) but both the 35 and 235 have the same HR tech.  Both seem like a good choice, so unless one is missing a feature you really want (such as the virtual pacer on the 35 vs the estimated recovery time on the 235) I think either would be a solid choice.

Ha ... no she has a Fitbit Ionic which has GPS but she doesn't pause it for stop lights and such so it is a rough pace

I am in the crowd who doesn't like to pause the watch when stopped, since you are recovering when stopping at a red light and such.  But I like how strava will report both real time and time spent running, seems to appeal to both sets of runners :)

  • 10 sets of windmills per side (16kg)
  • 10 Russian twists (only left side counts) (16kg)
