starpuck
We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming to Bring You ... Something completely different from anything you have ever seen in a Starpuck thread. Guys... my friends introduced me to Bee & Puppycat, and The Bravest Warriors. I am so hooked it's not even funny; and so, I will use this challenge to proselytize further, these wonderfully bizarre and absurd shows, which I normally don't care for, but somehow got addicted to! Starpuck is... the bravest warrior! Why? Because we are full into the middle of winter, and she has NOT gained weight! She has in fact, held the line over the holidays, EVEN while increasing her caloric intake, and is doing all the things! YES! She must simply continue to maintain this epic show of determination and keep at it. So let's keep focused, shall we? GOAL #1 - Keep up the exercise habit! Move with intent 5x a week, get at least 2 lifts in per week. This is a doable number for me. Often times, I might get a 6th day in, but it's not mandatory. Sometimes my 6th day is just me running around, cleaning, organizing, cooking, etc, and that earns me a pretty good amount of steps, so that's cool too. I'd like to keep some focus on the strength training, because I get frustrated having to re-earn past gains, so that's why 2 a week is a must. I'd love 3 a week, but I notice better workouts when I get more rest days too. Still tweaking the approach! EXERCISE 5X/ WEEK GOAL #2 - Keep up the homecooking! ~~Don't stop, home coooking, hold on to that ... cookbooking?~ This slacked a bit over the holiday weeks because scheduling + parties and outings got so crazy. What that in turn accomplished though, was absolutely solidifying that I prefer home cooked food now. Like. All the time. 3/5 meals out made me super sick, and that is unfun. Along with this goal is to maintain the tracking, which has still been, absolutely no stress for me. It's really weird guys. Gonna keep rolling with it. TRACK DAILY 7X/WEEK HOMECOOKED 2X/WEEK (At friends.) GOAL #3 - Night time routine! Recovery happens during rest, muscles grow during recovery, therefore, I should get on with this proper rest thing! I already brush my teeth every morning and night, but I'd like to get into a solid and long lasting relationship with floss. It's very hot and cold for me, one minute we're in a great place in our relationship, the next, it's been weeks since we talked. (I know, gross...) I realize that flossing every night might be a big jump for me, so I am going to say 4-5x a MUST, but aim for nightly. I'd also like to take care of my face skin! So 4x a week, wash up and put on some nice nourishing night cream or something. Then! Bed time! Lights out 20 minutes before I want to be asleep. The goal is 8 hours of total in bed time, but on nights of D&D or what not, that becomes harder... so all OTHER nights, let's get it right. FLOSS 5X/WEEK WASH FACE 4X/WEEK BED TIME 11:20 3X/WEEK -- WITHIN 15m OF GETTING HOME ALL OTHER DAYS (Non gaming days, in bed lights off at 11pm, gaming days, in bed/asleep as soon as humanly possible after teething... NO SCREEN TIME after getting home!) GOAL #4 - Creative Outlets need Nurturing! I've been contemplating a hefty project, and one thing I know for sure is that I need to keep expanding those comfort zones artwise. That means, drawing things I suck at, and ending up with sucky drawings, that over time will improve - instead of just doing the things I have gotten better at already. Same old routine here. SKETCH DAILY WORK ON THE TABLET 4X/WEEK * ART LESSON 1X/WEEK D&D PREP AS NEEDED Other things on the list, but not tracked. 1. Keep up with the Scripture Memorization (We getting that rolling again guys?) 2. Keep up with the budgeting and house money savings. 3. Learn how to use my 3D printer and start printing awesome things. 9 Quote Level 83 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult. All things worth keeping are." I will definitely hit you up with some 3D printer questions. I plan on using it mostly for terrain ideas, and miniatures for my D&D groups, but need to do some research on filaments and all that. Like anything, the first time you get into the pool, it's a little intimidating. 3 hours ago, Tanktimus the Encourager said: Your 2d art is incredible, I can't wait to see what you do with a third dimension. What comes after making 3D models? Learning to paint them! Oh geez I am so doomed. And yeah, those floss sticks would work on the top teeth, lol - but that permanent retainer on the back of my front 6 bottom teeth mean I have some finagling. It really doesn't take long even with regular floss, but it's the first thing to go when I am late to bed, or tired, or moody, or anything, lol! (I last looked at work earlier.) It's the middle of some kind of weird zero week part deux, and I am pleased to say I talked the quitter out of my mind today. Ok, not quitter quitter, but more like 'eh I don't feel great, let's postpone' voice. I'd been queasy all morning (still kind of nursing that now) and I thought it best to skip strength day. But, ya know, 4 out of 5 workouts I have this conversation with myself, so I knew that if I tried at least today, I'd feel good about it. Weird occurrence... my stomach felt FINE while working out, but messed up as soon as I stopped again. Also had this thing where I said, "I'll take it light, so I'll lift 15-20lbs off my usual work weight". I had a best ever bench of 110lbs back in mid November, and due to ailments, viruses, meh-energy days and what not, I've been working loads lower than that since. So I saw the 2- 25# plates on the bar and said, 'Sure, 95 works for today.' Proceeded to do my first two sets of 5 reps. On third set, I upped it to 7. As I walked behind the bench to stretch a bit, I saw the sneaky little 5# plates hiding behind the 25'ers.... Well oh shit, ok. 105lb it is then... HEY! So it ended up being a pretty decent work out. I sketched at work. Got one of my yearly physicals scheduled. Set up my BuJo for the challenge tracking. Got home and worked on the tablet. (Actually took a pic from sketch to finished in about an hour.) Now I should look at some D&D stuff while nomming some PB Toast with honey, then I will play some Pyre. Which is a perfect segway for dropping my art. Pyre guys. This game is so wonderful. (Actually, every game I've played by Supergiant, I have absolutely loved. GREAT soundtracks, emotional stories, BEAUTIFUL art and fun, interesting game play.) Anyway, there's a character called the Lone Minstrel in this game, and I decided to do my own rendition of him. I also wanted to do muted colors and soft lines, instead of hard black inked lines... and I like it so much, that I think I will leave it as a flat painting (no shading/highlights) and just leave it as is. Tomorrow is Thursday already, which means D&D night yay! Also, I think I will try to get a run in on my lunch break. I already have food made as left overs at the D&D Den, so all good there. 4 Quote Level 83 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult. starpuck
Hmm, sunny day always makes for an epic upswing in the mood! It also, made for an epic upswing in hunger. Holy smokes. I went to the indoor track today to get some running in- haven't run in weeks. Last time I hit the track was on Dec 18th! Sheez. My left side knee pit was being a little wonky as I jogged, so I decided to play it smart and just do run / walks after the first 3/4 miles. But, I was feeling meh and bored with that, so I said 'treat it like a hockey game' and I went HARD for 3/4 to a full lap, then walked a bit, and alternated that. And look at my pace for the last 2 miles doing it that way!!! HOLY CRAP GUYS! This changes everything hahaha! And makes me feel less like I am dying when I run because I get breathing breaks! Also did some sketching. I am trying like the dickens to work on some D&D prep notes between work foo, but it's not going as well as I'd like it to. I have to plot out this big dungeon, and I don't want there to be too many pointless rooms - but also don't want it to inundate them with too much plot foo and hints. Then I have to sort out the monsters! Food is all fine and dandy today, though as I said, I am hungry and wanting to non-stop snack. I have only an hour till dinner, so I going to try and hold out for that delicious homemade chicken burrito bowl we made on Tuesday. Mmmmm. And now for a gif that combines three things I love. Back in my day, we ran 6 weeks with zero break days in between! (Or it may have been like 2 days, I can't even remember. LOL) Sometimes we wouldn't know the start of the next challenge until we looked up and saw new forums had been posted. I believe this year will end with a five week challenge. I'm considering doing 5 week challenges for all of 2020, with a couple of six week challenges in the summer. 1 Quote Current Challenge "By the Most-Righteous-and-Blessed Beard of Sir Tanktimus the Encourager!" - Jarl Rurik Harrgath Link to comment

A 5e Vampire the Masquerade stream. I was never into the White Wolf games before, but I definitely enjoy watching this demonstration of how it should be done. Of course, having a very talented table of players (B. Dave Walters, Cynthia Marie, Alex Ward, and Erika Ishii) and a true master Storyteller (Jason Carl from White Wolf) does make a huge difference LOL. If you haven't seen it, I think you would enjoy it, definitely the same quality of show as Critical Role, although obviously a very different style of play (although guests do include Talesin and Marshia as well as Satine Phoenix and Jason Charles Miller). Vampire the Masquerade | L.A. by Night Playlist This is the YouTube playlist for what has been uploaded so far. Currently, Chapters 1-7 out of 8 that made up Season 1 with Chapter 8 probably added this Monday. There are also 4 1-hour epilogues that were primarily single character focused that covers events between the end of Season 1 and where Season 2. I'm not sure how the Epilogues will be uploaded, they were aired, pre-recorded and the Storyteller mentioned that they would be called Chapter 9, so they might be uploaded individually or as a single 4 hour chapter. Talesin guests in Chapter 5 (and makes a brief appearance for an in-character announcement at the beginning of Chapter 8), Satine guests in Chapter 6, Jason Charles Miller in Chapter 7, and Marisha in the last of the 4 Epilogues. 1 Quote B'ker Level 1 Half-elf Ranger | STR: 3 DEX: 3 CON: 3 INT: 3 WIS: 2 CHA: 2 Bker Survives December Challenge Tracking Spreadsheet Walking to Mordor (2019) Spreadsheet MyFitnessPal | FitBit | Instagram Walking to Mordor 1879.44 miles/1779 miles Mini Challenge: Week 1: | Week 2: | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Link to comment

Currently, Chapters 1-7 out of 8 that made up Season 1 with Chapter 8 probably added this Monday. I haven't watched any of those. I am current on CR, current on High Rollers Aerois campaign, and working through High Rollers Lightfall... I should check it out at some point though. Admittedly, I was always team werewolf in those games and never got much into vampire - but it would be interesting to see some pro's go at it! Today was a different sort of day. I was all over the place brain wise. I was also struggling with some friend-stuff, where I am really short wicked with a few of my friends lately, and just kind of permanently MAD at them, and then feeling really awful like I am a terrible person for feeling that way. So, after talking to a mutual friend about it, he asked if I wanted to talk more over lunch (he lives by where I work) and then said the magic word. No, not please. Or, my treat. He said tacos. So instead of lifting I had tacos. That ended up making me really sick and I had an awful headache. (Might have just been stress honestly.) I got home and was feeling way too awful to do any exercise, so had dinner and spent like almost 2 hours working on prep for tomorrow's D&D game. Then I said, 'Give it a go... you'll be happier in the long run.' And so... Did I leave my life to chance Or did I make you fucking dance? I DANCED! And thus can do what all the cool kids do and link a song because that is the perfect segway! Then I played some Pyre, but stopped just short of the ending because I was pretty sure it was gonna leave me a sobbing mess, and I was worried that might make falling asleep difficult.
