Howdy,

 

My name is Emrys. I'm a 28 year old rebel. I've been powerlifting for about 6 months. I fell off a bit at the end of 2018 due to life stressors and I'm trying to make a strong start in 2019. Consider this challenge my re-spawn!

 

Jan 7th- Feb 3rd 4 WEEK CHALLENGE:

GOAL 1: Fitness: I want to diversify my fitness this year. I've enjoyed lifting and intend to continue; I just want to work my muscles in other ways. I've avoided running like the plague (I hate cardio) and I haven't attended a yoga class in months (really bad previous instructor) so here's my first goal for this cycle: attend yoga or Run Club at least 1x a week (0/4) The plan is to alternate weeks.

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. Last year, I accomplished my goal of learning how to swim. This year, I want to become a more confident swimmer so I am setting a goal to swim 10 laps at least 1x a week. (0/4) 

 

GOAL 3: Language: I 100% fell off with my Spanish practice so I'm setting a goal to get back to it. The plan is to do 2-5 1 activities in Rosetta Stone daily. (0/28)

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. I racked up some good balances on my credit cards over the holidays and now it's time to pay the piper. This goal is to pay down Amazon or Citicard by $50 each pay (0/2)

I've also decided to choose 2-3 one-off quests to complete each challenge.

Week 1 Update:

 

GOAL 1: Fitness: Crushed it! I went to yoga, ran 1.5mi on the treadmill (it was too damn cold outside for Run Club), and still did my NF Academy workout. (1/4)

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. Success. Made it to the pool after the 1.5mi run. My stamina isn't great but that will come with practice. (1/4) 

 

GOAL 3: Language: I stuck by this too! In order to increase my likelihood of doing ANY practice, I've modified this goal to 1 activity daily and that seems to be working. Better some than none, huh? (7/28)

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. Made payments totaling $180 on all of my credit cards. Hoping to pay off my CitiCard entirely by next week. (1/2)

Week 2 Update:

 

GOAL 1: Fitness: My yoga class was cancelled due to a fire so I did my NF workout instead. Also made myself run .75mi on Friday. (2/4)

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. Didn't make it to the pool last week because of a supervision meeting. (1/4) 

 

GOAL 3: Language: Missed one night because the app was acting up, but I've otherwise been doing well. (15/28)

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. Made $100 tip at work that I was able to put toward my Amazon Card balance. Picked up some extra shifts so I can hopefully pay it off soon (1/2)

Week 3 Update:

 

GOAL 1: Fitness: Crushed my mile run. I still don't enjoy it but at least I'm doing it. (3/4)

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. Had a great swim. Feeling more and more confident as time goes by. (2/4) 

 

GOAL 3: Language: I'm managing to keep up. Committing to just one exercise each nice has helped with accountability. (22/28)

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. Had to bail out my baby sister to the tune of $700+ so this did not happen. (1/2)

Week 4 Updates:

 

GOAL 1: Fitness. I made it to yoga this week. I think I sweat out my entire insides. This instructor is NOT playing games lol. (4/4)

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. Skipped the pool this week. Just was not feeling up to it. (3/4)

 

GOAL 3: Language: I continued my studied and completed every day. I'm feeling pretty good about this new commitment. (29/30)

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. Saving to buy a home so this one if getting put on the backburner for now.  (0/2)

[--] 10 Second Wall Handstand - Attempted and failed. Handstands are hard.

[ ] Run on a local trail

 

 

Final results: Not too bad overall. I fell off a bit at the end but I'm not upset about it.

 

GOAL 1: Fitness.  (4/4) = 100%

 

GOAL 2: Fitness. (3/4) = 75%

 

GOAL Language:  (29/30) = 96%

 

LEVEL UP MY LIFE: Debt. (1/2) = 50%
