RES: Can't get there overnight

I'm getting the impression I am the alone one in this thread... *thoughtfully studies massive collection of colorful makeup*

Makeup is fun! :)

@RES, yeah I had thought of saying a smacked bottom, but realised that some may enjoy that.

Even better is not having to explain what I meant.

Don't get me wrong, I am super impressed with people who can use it well! It's just something I've never been very good at. Or had the patience to work on. I don't generally judge people who wear makeup, although sometimes I look at my daughter and think it's too much.

I'm a big fan of using things like make up and work clothes (suits for myself) as "battle armor" for confidence and the like. So power on!

Using it "well" is a matter of opinion... makeup is subjective. :)

On work days, my makeup is war paint, and a part of the armor, but it has nothing to do with building confidence. It's about projecting the confidence that was already there. A small but critical difference. :)

I will definitely check out those pod casts.  I am looking for something different to motivate me on my runs.

Great goals by the way.

I agree, I wear it when I have time, but when running around a ballpark in 90 degree heat it's a bit pointless

On my thread it's a given that some (or hell, at least me! LOL) would ;)

Nonsense. Apply dark smokey eye shadow, go heavy on eyeliner and mascara, and enjoy the slow melting into the time honored and much loved Deranged Racoon look. B)

What I wouldn't give for 90 degree heat.

I already act like one...would just be overkill to look like one at this point

I did learn about some makeup when my mother went to a workshop when I was a kid. To me it was like paint, so it was fun.

Now men beauty product rises very quickly. And I won't be surprised if one day men have to wear makeup to work too. (I just hope to retire before that.)

I know some who do  I also remember the 80's ...I think more men wore eyeliner then than women!

I fear I've neglected my thread again...been a tough week challenge-wise

The plan....

1. Three runs, at least one strength training a week Strength done (with my trainer) runs...ummm..no...started with the plan at week 1 day 1 again today

2. Eat on plan, only when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full This went well, with yesterday as the exception...been tracking again using Cronometer because it has a lot of the features I was looking for that MyFitnessPal didn't have. I'm thinking of getting the paid version (though the free one is more than adequate) because it can give you suggestions on items to make up your macros based on how you eat (Keto, Paleo, Etc...) weight fluctuated but still ended up losing overall this week

3. Keep up here, post on my own thread at least once a week, and try to sleep (season is soon, sleep will be a challenge), take time for crochet projects and working through my kindle list each day. Well I did post once on my own thread! Sleep has been good (because I've been skipping the gym in the morning) Finished a couple kindle books, working on crochet in the evening while re-watching GOT, got drawers organized, couple thing crossed off the 'getting ready for season' list at work. 45 more days!!

I did something today I haven't done in a while. I belong to several groups on facebook, one of them is talked about in the Phit n Phat podcast, anyone who's listened to her knows she's all about journaling (she calls it TDL or thought download) this is something I've struggled with in recent years...I used to blog years ago but it fell by the wayside as things got busier in my life about 15 years ago. Someone posted this in the group the other day and I thought "I'm going to use that" wow did I! 3 pages later...

Nice to hear that Cronometer and journaling are working for you. What is your current crochet project?

Only day 2 of journaling, so far so good! I had 3 co-workers that had baby girls in the last year, I'm working on crocheting baby blankets :D

Which I'm particularly enjoying since I had all boys

I like make up. I don't use all of it because I'm lazy (and dislike foundation) but lipstick is a habit at this point. Colours are fun and they can make you feel awesome.

I also really like reading about skincare too. Though I started to read because I randomly started getting acne after puberty (and still haven't figured out why or what exactly to do about them) and it was a requirement to stop them from hurting itching and generally being annoying. They still are but less so.

I'm still here, just forgot to update (better late than never, right?)

The plan....

1. Three runs, at least one strength training a week Strength done (with my trainer) runs/walks done!

2. Eat on plan, only when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full Still going good, still tracking, still eating on plan (still losing!) :)

3. Keep up here, post on my own thread at least once a week, and try to sleep (season is soon, sleep will be a challenge), take time for crochet projects and working through my kindle list each day. Missed posting on my own thread last week (oops) Sleep is going okay, working through my kindle list but haven't had a lot of time for crochet...I have been journaling though!

It's funny how I can come here almost every day, read other peoples threads, comment here and there, and forget all about updating my own

Going to see P!nk in concert tonight :D, a better update will have to come later!

Yeah, I forgot to update as well. We both got back on and updated anyway. So we are good.

I hope you had a blast at the concert.

Good to hear that you are doing the things on your plan. Having it be a normal part of your day and so unremarkable that you don't think to write about it is good. ;)

I'm just going to say she was AMAZING!! If anyone follows me on Instagram or Facebook I posted pictures, they in no way do it justice...(and if you don't and want to feel free to send a request!)

I like this philosophy :D

So all things considered, I'm going to update and do a challenge wrap in one! (and since season will start in the middle of the next challenge I've already got my title for the next one ready to go  )

The plan....

1. Three runs, at least one strength training a week Done! Also reached my StepBet goal every day this week :D (money is a big motivator for me!)

2. Eat on plan, only when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full Still going good, still tracking, still eating on plan (weight loss has kinda stalled though)

3. Keep up here, post on my own thread at least once a week, and try to sleep (season is soon, sleep will be a challenge), take time for crochet projects and working through my kindle list each day. I did post here once :) sleep has been meh...for the most part I've gotten 7 hrs a night. Crochet happened a couple days, finished a few books on the kindle...I need to finish some before buying anymore, but I made the mistake of reading "first in a series of three" yesterday and OMG I have to know what happened!

So, overall....

1. One week I missed strength training because my trainer was sick, yes I could have gone ahead and done it but didn't. One week I didn't get all my runs in, I think it was the same week..hmm...interesting. I've really been focusing on showing up for myself and not making excuses. I joined Not Your Average 5k to help with working on the goal of running a 5k this year, this was week one which has gone a long way towards getting me motivated to work on what I need to do to reach this goal.

2. Still tracking, still making a daily plan, been a few days I've 'grab assed' and didn't eat what I had planned on. Didn't lose the 5 lbs I'd planned on this month, only down 2...not giving up though, it's heading in the right direction!

3. Overall I managed to keep up on here, even though I forgot to post on my own thread. Sleep is better (after getting hormones adjusted) "me" time has been consistent. NF posting is changing to me time next challenge :)

I discovered journaling this challenge, I'm never going to be a writer but if I have a prompt I'm good :)

Just when I think I get the finances under control, the A/C unit went out and had to be replaced...thankfully I had paid off a credit card and we were able to do it, unfortunately that makes things a little tighter. Still working on the three year plan, really looking forward to having my car paid off next year though!

Tune in next challenge when I attempt to realistically plan a life and workout plan around baseball season! I have to say I'm looking forward to this one (my third year in this crazy business) more than I have any other! :)
