Last challenge got a little derailed by work and weather. Since this coming month is a little bit intense on the work front, with the help of others, I've decided to focus more on being present than o

Thank you both. @Thom Stépan I knew that I wasn't going to have a lot of down time this month (although it's looking like more now - yay!) and I also know when I'm mentally exhausted I can't must

Bonus positivity: The stars. Clear nights are chilly but so beautiful. Glad I'm away from the city.

For what it's worth, my week two wasn't stellar, either.  This week will be better!

I'm so glad you're feeling better!  :-)

I think I'm going to blame the weather. And thank you! :)

Yay for not being sick! Bend week three to your will.

Do you make your own pastry? And if so do you have any tips?

I do.  I haven't been doing it long, so I don't know if I have any wisdom that isn't on the internet.  Use a pastry blender and really mix the crap out of the flour and butter.  Butter is better; I don't use crisco any more.  For a fruit pie like apple or blueberry I put a pinch of cardamom in the crust.  Getting the moisture of the dough just right is the real art of it, and I'm not that good at it yet.  It's a very touchy thing that I think must be learnt by practice.  My biggest tip on making pastry is just do it!  The more you do it the better and easier it gets.  :-)

I didn't get any; I just got to pet them. I can't actually have a dog right now. My life is too crazy and I prefer large, athletic breeds.

I'm sorry; I totally misread your post!  Petting dogs is still pretty good.  :-)

No worries, it's happened before. Believe me, if I got a dog I'd make sure everyone knew lol

And there would probably be about a thousand pictures.
