Ah, SCA is so much fun! This is very cool and I'm a little jealous. Honestly, one of the weirdest things on a date is to tell someone that you spend your time reenacting the Civil War, it is like, "Yeah, I spend my weekends basically LARPing the 1860s, I'm pretty badass..."

Jessssssssss dressssss lol It sounds like you still made some progress towards the dress even if it was just research and coming up with a plan. I like your plan. Do your plan.

Hand...quilt.... you are nuts lol I have made 2 quilts in my life. Once in grade 3 and once 2 years ago lol. Bit of a time gap there. Do you have pictures of your quilt so far?

OhmahGAWD that is so cool. I keep ending up looking at the SCA website once every few years to see if theres a group close by lol. I really wish I could sew the amazing garbs but I am useless without a pattern lol and I am horrible at figuring out my own patterns I have learned.

I despise making patterns. Ugh. It stresses me out to no end. I super admire people who can just make like three marks on some paper and the use their magic to poof a pattern into existence.

GOAL 5 UPDATE: I was cleaning out my craft room last night in preparation for the move, and I've come to the conclusion that I have a whole mess of unfinished projects. I'd rather not move the unfinished projects, and I'd also rather not move the dress in a half finished state. So I'm revising goal 5, I'll put the dress off for now, since I haven't even started cutting yet, and instead I'm going to try to finish a bunch of my half done projects before I leave. It seems to be the more sensible course, considering I've got plenty of time to craft before the move, but probably not enough time to do this whole dress.

I can't make patterns either. I have a couple of magic wizards that I send measurements to and they send me a pattern back. It has been a lot of trial and error, but I'm at the point where I can make a basic dress and tunic without much help.

Fabulous plan! I tried to get started on cutting out the fabric for the garb I need to make, but ended up just productively procrastinating by ironing it all...

Ugh yesssss.. I tried to make a pattern twice (once a quilt and once a kimono dress thing) and it was interesting. Let me see if I can find the finished product.

Quilts are a bit easier to make patterns for...

This one actually didn't turn out as bad as I remembered lol but there were definitely random parts that didn't fit the BEST. But its still pretty cool. I made a Raichu tail and ear things to wear with it (cosplaying with my sister)

Oh fun! I love sewing projects <3 this is making me want to start a new quilt lol  Your new plan sounds smart.

Do either of you have a picture of your sewing spaces? My space is lack luster and miserable haha. Looking for some inspiration.

I am ok at making patterns, but then that means that I have too many options and I get indecisive. I do not have pictures of my craft space, it's not very exciting. BUT in the new condo I'm thinking of painting the room white and then doing a teal chalkboard wall that I can put notes and such on so I don't lose my little pieces of paper all the time. I've attached some photos of the hand made quilt in progress. You'll be waiting a while before the finished photos are done. It would probably go much faster if I had less help.

Thank you! It was quite a learning curve lol and I made lots of mistakes. I love how it turned out though.

Wow your quilt is beautiful! As is your help :friendly_wink: when I was crocheting a baby blanket my Frenchie kept laying on it lol as if laying his claim on it. Animals are the cutest. Is that one of the dresses you've made?

Oh teal chalkboard! That sounds so fun and fresh. My sewing room is in the laundry room with no windows... Unfinished walls and a crumbly cement floor lol. Oh and the thing I have my sewing machine on is maybe a foot deep. But for the amount I sew it works. As depressing as it is lol

Playing catch up. but OMG people, I would of been done too.

That being said, I think this is a great idea. Moving half done stuff is a pain. Congrats on the condo.

Although I will say all the sewing and crafting stuff makes me miss having time for it. I did Dagohir years and years ago (that's where I met Hubby) and I do miss it sometimes. SO thanks for letting me live through you all

My help is very well aware that she is lovely... and yes, that is my summer sheer gown. I repaired a rip in the skirt this weekend as part of my PHD goal 5!

UPDATE: Sorry I've been MIA, I had wisdom teeth removed on Thursday and I've been doped up on the couch with the cat most of the weekend.

Goal 1: 96.52% compliance with Renaissance Periodization and 156.1 lbs! I lost more than the norm this weekend because I couldn't eat much, but I tried to stay on task despite the inability to really chew. My goal for the 10 weeks of this cut was to hit 157. I've surpassed that and I still have over 6 weeks to go on the cut!

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week: 3/15   <- LOL no gym for me this past week. Tomorrow though, tomorrow!

Squat 185: DONE

I'm still super sad that I got pinned under the bar for my 100# bench last Sunday, but I'll come back for it this week.

Goal 3: Yoga 2x a week! 2/10  <- well, I might need to step this game up.

Goal 4: Skincare! 7/20 <- trying, minor successes

Goal 5: I got SO MANY half done projects wrapped up this weekend. Mended a skirt, made some gifts, finished crocheting a scarf.

In addition to all of this, I packed 10 boxes of books, took 12 garbage bags to the thrift store, and baked a bunch for my reenactment group's bake sale. Not only did I bake a bunch, but I didn't eat any of the goodies! Jacked and lean here I come.

It seems that while doped up from the anesthesia on Thursday, I ordered a body fat percentage analyzer. I discovered this because I got the shipping notification this morning. It only cost me $15 so I'm not gonna stress over it, and I'm kinda thankful to trippin-balls Jess because it will be interesting to be able to track my bf% as I drop weight.

Hahahahaa I love that you shopped while doped up. That is too funny. You got a LOT done considering you had your wisdom teeth out... When I did that.. I was just on the couch for a week haha. Getting stuck under a bar is scary :( I did that once with a squat... and I had no help and was alone. Somehow I managed to get down to my knees and roll the bar down. After that I started squatting with the clip off one side so I could dump the weights if I needed to. But that is in the very way back when machine lol

I'm really really bad at not doing things. I have this focus on my to do list and I just get in the zone, often at the expense of self care... Probably should have rested way more this weekend than I did, but oh well.

Thanks, @RookieI love my dress. It seems lovely and flowy, except there are more than half a dozen layers underneath! SO MUCH FABRIC to go back to 1860.

I GET TO GO BACK TO THE GYM TONIGHT! I'm pretty excited, its been over a week.

Weighted in at 155.9 today. At my heaviest (February) I was 170. I really freaking miss things like pizza and cookies but as of today I'm 40% of my way through this cut! I'm so excited to be making clear progress and feeling in control again.

Last night I worked on a PHD, with some help... see photos for cuteness. I'm hoping to have this quilt done by this weekend so I can move on to some other projects next week. I'm also thrilled about how quickly I'm busting through my half done projects and I'm frustrated that I put them all off for so darn long.

Now I need to get back on board with yoga and cardio and stop being a bum about that.

Last night I ran some errands and I worked a bit on the quilt. Then I went to the gym and had an AMAZING lift. I squatted 200lbs for 2 singles. I also hit a comeback shoulder press PR. I'm at the lowest weight that I've been at in probably 3.5 years and I'm hitting lifts that I haven't touched in 2.5 years. I've never moved this much weight while weighing this little before. I'm thrilled. AND I did it all while wearing red lipstick, because sometimes you've gotta be glam. Yesterday was a productive day. In addition to all of this, I've got the mortgage papers signed, I've responded to the sellers re the inspection, and I've set up my new bank account with the company that is giving me the mortgage. I need to yoga and cardio more, also skincare more, but I kinda feel like I'm at an ok place right now.

I've attached a comparison photo of me pre this eating program and me during. I'm 40% of the way through it, and I'm not seeing my lifts suffer at all. Maybe I'm just in a great mood because of the endorphins, but I'll take it.

Goal 1: 96.77% compliance and 155.9 lbs

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week: 4/15

Squat 185: DONE

Goal 3: Yoga 2x a week! 2/10

Goal 4: Skincare! 8/20

Goal 5: Going really well

Sounds like things are getting serious re:the house

It is, it's scary... exciting, but scary. Probably how Ron felt about trying to date Hermione.

Last night +1 yoga, +1 skincare. No PDH work BUT lots of packing/packing prep.

Also, this weekend is going to be my first Dewey's 24 hour Readathon! I'm so excited. I've got my books all picked out and everything. I'd LOVE to have a cheat day and eat all the snacks this weekend, because snacks make being hunkered down reading that much better, but in reality I don't need them and I'm doing so good with this cut. Anyone else doing the readathon? If anyone wants to follow along, my IG is Barbelle_Jess and I'll be posting updates all day Saturday, and a few posts leading up to it.

Goal 1: 96.9% compliance and 155.5 lbs

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week: 4/15

Squat 185: DONE

@JessFit lol yes that probably is. I am jealous. I have been wanting to move because I hate my commute. BF finally agreed to it in the next 2 years but the problem is... everywhere around where we would think to move is so expensive. :( Stupid expensive places to live.

That readathon sounds so fun. I will definitely be adding you to follow! :) -adds you- Waiiiiiiiit you don't happen to have a black horse do you?  I know someone else with that name on one of my FB groups who is also preparing to move lol Though I am pretty sure its just a coincidence lol

I do not have a horse of any kind, although a black one would be lovely. I was on a trail ride in middle school and it was my first time on a horse and I'd read so many books about horses and had such an in-depth conversation with the guy working at the barn that he put me in the lead of the ride as an experienced rider... I didn't understand his mistake and it wasn't until AFTER we'd cantered through the mountains that I explained to him that I'd never been on a horse before, I'd just read a lot of books. Good thing I had because I knew what to do when it came time to do more than walk. It was a bit of a baptism by fire.

I'm actually moving a bit further away from work, kinda out of town. Distance wise the new place is further, but time wise it might end up being faster since I don't have to cut through downtown. Of course, this is a small town-ish, so the actual town is only about 4 miles across... it is hard to live in this town or one of its suburbs (there are 3, and they're all as small or smaller than the city) and be very far from anything. The down side to that is, the housing market is crazy expensive and as a single person, that makes it tough. Around here it is mostly either student housing (college town, I work for the university) or family housing. Bleh

Omg lol what a great experience. Those must of been some great books ;) It sounds like you must be a natural lol Well done!!!

Yah I have been even looking at places like that. I think our ideal place is on the city outskirts... where it starts to turn rural but you are still close enough to everything. And if that is the case it might make it better for me to avoid the main roads of the commute. In order to get home or to work we need to cross this big bridge and when that bridge is closed (doesn't happen often) or just down a lane or two everything just turns to a stand still. There are only 3 ways to get home lol Of course boyfriend also wants to move to Texas for a bit... And I am like hmmmm I don't know. Like I am open to it but I am not sure how serious he is and also how hard it would be for 2 Canadians to move down there. I would never be able to go at this as a single person. Owning a home as a single person is a pipe dream here unless you want to live in a really questionable area or you are highly successful. Even then Most that I know who do get a house end up needing a roommate or 2.

I am so damn tired. In part, I'm sure it is my body trying to heal from the wisdom tooth extraction. They still hurt. In part I'm sure that the last 4+ weeks at a caloric deficit is to blame. In part, I'm not sleeping well for some reason. Had a crappy lift last night, which has me in a funk, and I sadly won't get to bed early tonight because I have to pick up a friend from the airport at 10pm. I'm clearly a boring person who doesn't do things on Friday nights. Anyway... tomorrow is the 24 hour readathon and I'm planning to read a lot, but I'm also not going to stay up for the full 24 hours. Ya girl needs her sleep! Despite it all, I'm wearing my super cool glow in the dark DNA Toms! I work in a stem cell research lab, so they're perfect.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend. If all goes well, I'll have a completed quilt to share photos of come Monday!
