Unless acted upon by pizza and a comfy couch...

I'm going to try to avoid that this round! I don't like picking hard finish goals, I prefer to have something like "lift 3x a week." However, in this instance, I'm going to include some hard finish goals, that's just where I am this challenge.

Goal 1: Stay at 90% or greater compliance with my Renaissance Periodization (RP) cut. I'm aware that due to some travels, weddings, and a minor oral surgery, 100% is going to be impossible. I'm at 100% now, on day 6. Overall, I want to maintain 90% or better. I WILL get down below 160 (Currently at 164) and stay there.

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week, also, squat 185 for reps. This lifting comeback has me stuck and I'm frustrated as heck. I want a 200# squat for reps, preferably some time in May. So I'm going to say that 185 by the middle/end of this challenge will get me there. 3x5=15

Goal 3: I need to yoga, lifting is making me stiff and tight again. Yoga 2x a week! 2x5=10

Goal 4: Skincare! Make sure I go through my skincare routine at least 4 nights a week. I'm pretty inconsistent about this right now, I'd love to do it every night but I forget or am tired. It really isn't a lot of work, so I'm going to set myself at 4x a week and work up. 4x5=20

Goal 5: Finish my civil war work dress. I'm a civil war reenact and I need to get my work dress done for this coming summer season. I've got the fabric, I've had the fabric since July, and I promised myself I would do it over the winter. Surprise, I didn't. I will finish it by the time I'm done with this challenge though.

Your goals are awesome and I'm following along to cheer you on! (and for pictures of the dress as it's in progress! I'm a big fan of historical costuming, and can't wait to see your finished product!)

Hi all! I'm doing ok, week zero was great, week 1 I've been struggling. I totally fell asleep cuddling the cat last night instead of going to the gym. Oops. No sewing so far, and not nearly enough yoga, but I'm doing well with diet and lifting and ok on skincare. I'm squatting 180 for reps, which means I'm so close to hitting 185. Photo of dress fabric attached, hopefully I'll commence work on it this weekend.

HAHAHAHAHAHA you think I have a pattern? I have exactly no clue at this point. Which is probably why I'm dragging my feet.

Hahaha!  That sounds like me.... “Ooooh, nice fabric, I’ll buy that and make a quilt with it, I wonder how much I need.....?” With ZERO idea of what pattern I even want to use. :D

EVERY SINGLE TIME! And when the ladies at the fabric shop are like, "Oh, this is pretty what are you making dear?" I kinda freeze because I usually have no clue. I just need this fabric. Or, I'll have some quilt colors in mind but no clue what I'm going to actually make yet, so I just randomly buy a few yards and pray that it is enough.

I spent a decent part of the weekend sleeping, I guess my body is telling me something. I also kinda sorta signed the papers to buy a condo this weekend... that wasn't really on my weekend to do list but I close June 14.

I didn't sew much (aka at all) this weekend because I still can't decide what style I want to do the bodice in. Instead, I spent a bunch of time looking up extant examples. There aren't many, work dresses for the lower classes were usually worn until they were worn out and then they were turned in to something else. I think I'm just going to bite the proverbial bullet, cut some fabric for the skirt, and start cartridge pleating it. The bodice is really where the style of a work dress will come in. This way I'm making progress and maybe I'll get inspired along the way. I did spend some time hand quilting my civil war quilt thought! I was very ambitious when I decided to hand quilt this bad boy... and almost a year later, I'm about 1/3 of the way done.

Finally squatted 185 for reps last night! Thank you goal 1! Failed on my 100# bench though. Got pinned under the bar, but I'll come back and get it. Did yoga on Friday, helpful yoga cat was helpful.

Some skincare, but tbh I need to get better about skin care and vitamins before bed.

Goal 1: 98.84% compliance and 160.1 lbs

185 Squats: DONE

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week: 6/15

Goal 3: Yoga 2x a week! 2/10

Goal 4: Skincare! 7/20

Goal 5: Must start!

Oh my!  That’s a labour of love!  I can’t even begin to imagine how much work there is in hand sewing a whole quilt.  That’s hardcore! :o:o:o

GOAL 5 UPDATE: I was cleaning out my craft room last night in preparation for the move, and I've come to the conclusion that I have a whole mess of unfinished projects. I'd rather not move the unfinished projects, and I'd also rather not move the dress in a half finished state. So I'm revising goal 5, I'll put the dress off for now, since I haven't even started cutting yet, and instead I'm going to try to finish a bunch of my half done projects before I leave. It seems to be the more sensible course, considering I've got plenty of time to craft before the move, but probably not enough time to do this whole dress.

Last night I ran some errands and I worked a bit on a quilt from my PHD pile. Then I went to the gym and had an AMAZING lift. I squatted 200lbs for 2 singles. I also hit a comeback shoulder press PR. I'm at the lowest weight that I've been at in probably 3.5 years and I'm hitting lifts that I haven't touched in 2.5 years. I've never moved this much weight while weighing this little before. I'm thrilled. AND I did it all while wearing red lipstick, because sometimes you've gotta be glam. Yesterday was a productive day. In addition to all of this, I've got the mortgage papers signed, I've responded to the sellers re the inspection, and I've set up my new bank account with the company that is giving me the mortgage. I need to yoga and cardio more, also skincare more, but I kinda feel like I'm at an ok place right now.

I've attached a comparison photo of me pre this eating program and me during. I'm 40% of the way through it, and I'm not seeing my lifts suffer at all. Maybe I'm just in a great mood because of the endorphins, but I'll take it.

Goal 1: 96.77% compliance and 155.9 lbs

Goal 2: Get to the gym 3x/week: 4/15

Squat 185: DONE

Goal 3: Yoga 2x a week! 2/10

Goal 4: Skincare! 8/20

Goal 5: Going really well, 4 projects done already!

Nice job! You sound happy and productive. Yay!

I love the term PHD. I finally got around that by only allowing myself one project at a time. That means if I get bored with one project, I have to finish it before I can work on the next thing. I have a bad case of the "Ooohhh shiny!" when it comes to new projects and it takes discipline to finish one. But now with woodworking, I have found that I probably should have a couple of things in different stages. Nothing worse than finishing a glue-up, everything is in clamps and then have nothing else to do. With knitting, I didn't have that issue, so I can keep myself on one project.

I admit, sometimes it is a case of distraction or getting bored, sometimes I end up with a paying project in front of me and a personal sewing project that is half done just gets shoved to the side and forgotten. In the case of the quilt that I'm currently working on, I actually pieced the top together so beautifully that I've been afraid to quilt it and ruin it! Finally had to just dive in.
