Bad. Ass.

Part of me wants to look for a medal holder like that just because. But then I'd actually have to sign up for things. Or block you entirely on my phone/social media/etc.

It makes me sad that you would even consider blocking me! I still feel bad about the whole ankle thing. :(

But yes, I strongly considered getting one for you and NTB. But then I was like no, maybe I should let them make their own decisions.

lol I'm not sure I could go through with it, no worries. Why do you feel bad though?

I would have laughed at it. But I only have one medal so it would be sad and lonely so it's better not to have a rack thing yet.

That’s terribly impressive. Kudos to you!

My wife really wants to do the Disney Princess marathon. I think she’s looking for someone to go through it with her that isn’t me, though. Probably my sister will eventually crumble.

I feel bad that one of the ankle injuries happened on my watch. Did I actually push you too hard? Should I have tried to get you to stop to fight another day?

Also, I have your address, so you could try to block me, but I could still come find you!

Totally not your fault. Blame the ortho who told me PT was unnecessary. I'm not sure you could have gotten me to stop anyway though. Whenever I get hurt doing something I insist on powering through rather than treating the issue/scaling back/resting.

Monday Update:

  • Drank the water, ate the food. I'm feeling much more back to normal today. I didn't track any calories over the weekend, just listened to my body. I was surprised how difficult it was to actually want to eat Sunday, but my appetite was back by yesterday. I'm participating in a small FB NFA group and one of my goals is to eat a salad every day this week. I had a Panera salad yesterday and it was amazing.
  • Accomplished 7 tomatoes. I spent most of the morning not wanting to do anything, so this is even more impressive. I've also already scheduled out my tomatoes for Tuesday.
  • I scheduled my workouts for the month of April. I'm not going to hit all of them, but my goal is to hit at least 4 days a week. I've also decided to start tracking my mileage. If I'm going to be running regularly, I need to make sure I don't make any huge jumps and risk injury. These were really the only differences I made to my habit tracker for April (adding in miles and separating my regular workouts from the C25K).
  • I had thought about starting back with T25 this morning (I took the weekend off). But I decided to sleep in instead. I have a bit of residual shin pain atm and I don't want to push anything. I also did 4 miles on the elliptical instead of my regular workout yesterday. I wanted to get moving, but I didn't want to aggravate anything that was already sore.

We always stay at the same hotel and have gotten to be fairly friendly with the front desk staff (this Hilton just got digital keys in March and they haven't worked well yet, so we have to interact with staff). The afternoon people are super nice and I really enjoy talking to them. Well, one of my co-workers really enjoys Smartpop popcorn, which we get at check in (the perks of having status with Hilton). So for April Fool's Day, the front desk staff got a large number of bags of popcorn to decorate his room. Unfortunately, he ended up staying home this week, so instead, they decorated my OTHER co-workers room. There are almost 50 bags of Smartpop that were strewn around.

Funny story to start off the day:

My coworker drives in to Louisville, so we take his personal car to and from the hotel to the client site. There is an offsite parking garage near the hotel that we use. It's pretty tight (it's an older garage), but it's significantly cheaper than the valet. Last night, when we parked, it was pretty empty, so we did our normal thing.

This morning however, the spaces around his Jeep were all filled. To the point where my coworker wasn't able to get to his driver's side door because there wasn't enough space (a pole and a wall were blocking his path). So I had to climb over the center console to back up the Jeep so that he could get in. The only saving grace is that I wasn't wearing a dress today (I did yesterday).

One of my reasons for working out and staying fit is so I can easily do things like this, climb over stuff, crawl through tight spaces, etc. And yeah, good thing you weren't wearing a dress; that might have complicated matters a bit.

We had to fix a broken water line under the house we're moving to. My buddy, who does a lot of contracted housework, would not be physically able to crawl under the house. I was more than happy to volunteer even before he said anything. He was surprised by how easily I slipped into the crawl space and worked my way to the middle of the house where the water line was located. Turns out I didn't get it fixed right the first time and had to crawl under there again. The second time was a little more difficult, but I got it.

It's the same for me, with the additional benefit of being able to do the "heavy" work around the house: lifting stuff, cutting off branches from trees, drilling holes, etc. Climbing has taught me to keep my body balanced when doing strange moves on a ladder, and the strength-endurance it gave me also does not hurt.

Considering the dress, I would have still climbed over the center-panel. I usually wear boxer-briefs underneath my dresses and skirts, so nothing is really visible. If the guys feel offended or invited, they can deal with that themselves. I also bike with dresses and skirts, just like many other women.

Same here. My goal is to be able to keep doing what I need to around the house, to be able to pick up and carry my whole family when needed, and to be prepped and ready for any adventures I might meet.

I don’t mind getting older. I do mine freezing up, which is what is tending to happen after 7 years at a standard desk job.

Truthfully, it wouldn't have stopped me either. I'm just not generally a skirt or dress wearer in general, so I'm not necessarily comfortable in either anyway (I wore one this week and one last as a way to decrease the amount of clothes I needed to pack for being away from home two weeks) and I definitely don't wear them enough to think about underwear choices. My coworker is very nice and wouldn't have felt offended or invited. He's just older, so old fashioned in his thinking (he's the type of guy who still always takes my luggage in and out of the car) so he felt bad about me having to crawl over the console anyway.

I've been doing well recently, even though it's kind of status quo. I did not work out yesterday. Instead, I took a nap. And for me to sleep during the day, I apparently needed it. I've bumped my tomato goal up to 6 daily as I've gotten behind on some work projects and it is actually working out really well. I've started to do a better job of planning what I want to accomplish every day and writing it down in the am. It's not perfect, but it's definitely better than it was. I've also committed to eating a salad daily, which I've done.

Just wanted to pop in and say I'm happy to be following a Sylvaa thread again! Also: huge congratulations on the race. And the photo looks great! If you're looking for a race photo to get framed or use in a bio or something, that's a good one.

I am also very amused by the idea of you showing up at @fleaball's house in an unmarked van and whisking her away to some OCR.

You think this won't happen, but my husband has expressed interest in doing one of the Stadion (whatever they are calling the Stadium sprints these days) and we could reasonably make a trip to the one at Fenway.

Maybe I should do an update:

  • I'm home! Yay! I'm so excited, except I have a ton of things to do now.
  • I also weighed myself. I'm pretty much exactly where I was (which is kind of nice because while this week I started watching what I ate a little bit closer than I had been, I've definitely gone off track with actually paying attention to the fuel I'm putting in my body).
  • I ate a salad every day this week (well, so far since Monday). I've got one for today too. Yay for actually eating things that are nutritious and not just tasty.
  • Tonight I am running.

Weekend Update:

  • Friday we went out for dinner. We've got a local brewery that we absolutely love that we hadn't visited in like two weeks (gasp!), so we went there. It was as nice as usual, but now they are getting to know our names.
  • Saturday, the husband and I did a C25K run! We were going to do it Friday, but it was raining just bad enough to not be fun. I went further in the same amount of time than I had my last day, which was really awesome (even more so because it was outside versus on the treadmill). My husband has decided that he's up for starting the program and actually running some road races with me, which is pretty exciting. We recently had a conversation around how we don't really have things that we do together and how it would be nice to find something we could start.
  • Sunday, we woke up early, went to breakfast, then went grocery shopping. We got home a little after noon. This needs to start being a regular occurrence as it made the day more productive overall. I made baked oatmeal muffins for breakfast this week, which are very tasty. I was able to get caught up on laundry (of which there was a bunch).

Yay for running together :). The morning-grocery-shopping-thing works well for me as well. I don't know why exactly, but once I have got the groceries it is much easier to tackle all the other chores.

We did another run at the same time last night too! He's pretty positive about the whole thing, considering. Last night, my son came along too and realized that the one park we go to has a crazy number of Pokestops. So apparently now that is going to be a more regular thing.
