Shotokan
My last two challenges didn't go anywhere like planned so this time, it's do what can be done. I know I am late to the game but sometimes that is just how it goes. 1 - Do as many katas as possible 2 - Kettlebell swings 3 - Everything else - DDP, core work, anything that feels like a workout Extra credit - Publish some blog posts The goal is to do as much of the above as possible and not setting any goal numbers. Whatever gets done gets done and that's good. My workouts started this past Monday and they are going pretty well. I have been doing kata and swing supersets. Do a kata and then 8 swings with the 35lb kettlebell. I have been doing the DDP Red Hot Core 2.0 workout along with some of my own core training if I don't do the DDP. Shotokan
I got in a couple of good workouts over the last few days. A few more katas and some kettlebell work along with some DDP and some extra core work too. Four hours of teaching Karate on Saturday was a serious workout too. Kishi
Truer words have never been spoken. The body doesn't see the numbers on the plate, it just knows effort. Exert yourself when you can and reap the benefit! That being said, hey, man. How you doing? 1 Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! Shotokan
Things could have gone better this challenge but some important family matters kept me from getting traction over the first two weeks of the challenge. The second two weeks were all out training on a different level. I ended up with over 220 katas and at least 15 more workouts since I checked in last. I ditched the kettlebell for a while to get in the kata training and other workouts but just working meant I wasn't following any real plan.
