Aren't accents best done via video? Shouldn't this little bit have been in a video clip? ;)

I'm a 37 year old minister, you're gonna have to settle for that.

Today is a good day. No cooking, we were busy. I did the KB workout again and it went well. I'm starting to notice improvements just from doing it once or twice a week. We went and looked at two houses with our realtor today. Neither of them turned out to be something we even needed to think about much. The first one was nice, but the yard was small and the upgrades were just a little too fancy, like they were trying too hard. There was a bathroom off of the dining room that had a full shower in it! The second house was not nice, and needed far more work than I cared to put into a home. The bedrooms were too small and the master suite was just not good. There was no door separating the bathroom from the bedroom, and the closet was too small. We'll keep looking.

My uncle's house is like this, except it's their only bathroom. I've always thought it was super weird. Good call on skipping that one.

That reminded me of this absolutely hilarious but very tacky commercial shot by a Real Estate company in Sydney: https://www.cracked.com/article_26325_this-real-estate-ad-looks-like-worlds-worst-adult-film.html NSFW for language and for the commercial itself. If you read through the whole thing, be sure to watch the version with the alternative soundtrack. Also fair warning to everyone who doesn't have my crude sense of humor. :)

It is hilarious, though it didn't seem too bad on the raunchy content, other than the explicit naming of porn sites in the article. I did lose it when I saw the name of the Real Estate firm though.

Me too, that's what really makes it so hilarious. And the version with the alternative soundtrack.

And I personally don't think that site is bad at all... most of their content is surprisingly informative and it's really funny. However, work's IT department disagrees with me, hence the flag. :)

Our house has this. When it was renovated, they added a bathroom on the first floor, and it's right off the dining/living room. That shower only gets used by guests, but I'm glad to have an extra bathroom! It is weird though.

Good luck house hunting!

Oh I hope you get any moving done before the baby comes!

Your video also made me miss my Scottish roommate.. he dialled it down a lot when speaking with me, but whenever he'd call home I'd have absolutely no clue what he was saying :)

It's probably not a content issue, but a time wasting issue that was in question when your IT flagged the site ;)

I'm guessing this was something like that. It seemed like they had converted a garage and then built a new one on or something.

Thank you very much. I've been told before by people who have lived in Scotland my Scottish accent reminds them of someone they new. From what I understand, what I affect is a Glaswegian accent, though I'd happily accept correction from any UK residents. In the US we don't get exposed to the richness of accent diversity on the British Isles. For Irish we get Ulster accents, for Scots we get Glasgow, and for England we either get Received Pronunciation or Eliza Doolittle. American Media seems to forget Wales exists :(

Yesterday was a good day. I did laundry and we went to a baby appointment (all good!) and went grocery shopping. Then we went to a fundraiser dinner with our church for a group called Ransomed Life, which rescues girls out of Sex Trafficking. We learned that there is a difference in definition between Human Smuggling and Human Trafficking. Smuggling is moving people from one place to another, whereas trafficking refers to the acts they are forced to do against their will. One thing that was pointed out to us is that almost all the girls helped are local; the abusers keep them here to exploit them. The organization is incredible, and our church has partnered with them almost from the beginning. Despite the heavy topic, it was still a fun night, the organization branded the event "A Night of Hope" and focused mainly on the work they do and the restoration these girls find. They are incredible.

Not quite. The Glasgow accent is more “whiney”, that’s a bit more highland mixed with east coast. ;)

This is is what I always think of as a “real” Glasgow accent..... :D

How bad was their cooking that they felt like guests would need to bathe afterwards? Or . You know what? I’m not going to explore this. Nope. Not at all. Ew.

I’m glad the baby had a good appointment! I love babies and their pudgy little baby feet.

You may be interested to know that at Camp NF in 2016 I met a man from Edinburgh and a man from Yorkshire. The Yorkshireman sounded Scottish to me and the Edinburgh resident sounded like he was speaking RP. They were amused at my initial confusion.

We'll be sure to post some pictures of the baby when the time comes.

Friday was a good day. Sra. Tanque was off work for a local holiday, so we got to spend the morning and early afternoon together till I had to go to work. She went with me as I got a haircut and went to get a chiropractic adjustment. Then we came home and I put a lasagna in the oven.

Today is a good day too. I was feeling down and not knowing why. Sra. Tanque heard me out, then prayed for me. The thought then occured to me to open the blinds and turn on lights, then to go stand in the sunshine on our lower balcony. I felt better after that, and ended up cooking lunch.

I peeled and sliced a pound of carrots and a pound of parsnips. I put them on a foil lined baking sheet, and added avocado oil, white wine vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley and dried thyme. I roasted it in the oven for 30 minutes at 400 degrees, then added some broccoli florets and let it cook another ten minutes.

After the broccoli went in I melted some ghee in a skillet and put salt and pepper on some salmon. I put it in the skillet skin side up for a few minutes, then flipped it to crisp the skin. I topped it with bacon jam, which softened while the salmon finished cooking it was incredible.

This is the bacon jam.
