Gada training

A friend recommended this. Google says it is a mace of sorts the Indians used to work out. Anyone knows if this is legit or viable?

Looks like a cross between kettlebell and sledgehammer training, so with proper form, training, and dedication, I'd expect similar results.


However, they only show one motion and other videos from the same group imply that its part of a larger strength training regimen.


Ultimately though:  if you think it looks fun/interesting, give it a try.  The best workout is the one that will keep you, personally, engaged and coming back for more.  Just do your research, practice good form, and if something doesn't feel right, stop and figure out why before you continue.
