Went to the YWCA this afternoon. Signed up for a membership for the two months that I'm going to be in Minnesota. I got a tour of the place and then went for a swim. I ended up doing laps (slowly) for 25 minutes or so. I think I'm going to feel it tomorrow. It feels so nice to be good and tired.

Very nice. Swimming is a great way to get movement in. And perhaps it will help your foot. My son broke his ankle and sprained ligaments. It was taking forever to heal. Then we went on vacation and he swam  every day, or sometimes just walked in the water. By the end of the week , it was almost better. We were at Disneyland though, so there may have been some pixie dust in the pool that helped.:smile-new:

Perennial goals: Sleep 7+ hours a night, retain (and continue to learn) French and Spanish as a family, increase Spanish Proficiency for work and play,  read like a maniac on my own and with my kids, carry heavy stuff

Long term goals: Cut to 13-15% bodyfat, And now that I'm grown I eat five dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a baaaaarge! -> Someday I'll challenge a Disney world Gaston to a push up contest and win

Tuesday - w2d3

 

Mindful Moments

- one during breakfast - ate slowly and waited to have the second half of my breakfast until I was actually hungry

- one during lunch - ate more than I thought was appropriate when I was still hungry

- one during dinner - tried to chew thoroughly while swatting my cat away

 

PT Exercises

- traced the alphabet

 - iced for 20 minutes x 2

- towel gathers 2 x 60 seconds

- toe isometrics up and down x 10

- one during lunch - had a big lunch, but I didn't overeat

- added lavender to my diffuser necklace

Isn't it funny that something as simple as the feeling of being full can get lost if you’re not paying attention to what you’re doing?  And sometimes how little it takes to be satisfied?

 

I can be an emotional eater (or an emotional faster) and it seems that simply being mindful helps tremendously.

Yeah this journey of mindful eating has been an eye opener and no mistake. This morning I thought I would be hungrier than I was because I didn't want dinner last night, but my body seems to be regulating everything the more I trust it to.

Thursday - w2d5

 

Mindful Moments

- one after lunch - was tempted to have some more to eat but kept checking in and realizing that I was not hungry

- one during dinner - tried to slow down my eating despite the attacks from my cat

- one during breakfast - realized I wasn't enjoying my food and slowed down

- one during lunch - ate slowly while sitting down and focus on the details of my food

- one during dinner - slowed down and enjoyed what I was eating without screens or distractions

Mine basically just has a circle of felt inside it that you put a drop or two of oil onto. It can be quite strong the first day, so I choose scents that I really like.

- one during dinner - realized that I was eating too fast, checked in with my fullness, and slowed down

Enjoy reading about your mindful moments while eating. You're doing a great job.

I watched End Game this weekend. I had all the feels. It was very good though, and I felt like it did a good job of wrapping everything up.

- one before breakfast - waited to eat until I was actually hungry

- one during afternoon snack - I was feeling hungry, so I had a little something to eat

- one during dinner - stopped when I was full

- asking for specific help with something

Thanks! Lots of things are going well. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, but I suppose it's a vaguely positive rut, so that's not the worst thing in the world.

I am enjoying the Y. I missed swimming quite a bit, so it's nice to get moving again that way. The personal training session that I had was pretty meh, but I've got another one next week, so maybe I will learn some new tricks.
