You're getting pollen trouble over there? I found that was the one place where I don't have to OD on antihistamines for month!

Seconded! I loooove the pup photos!

Also I was excited to see you mention MMM...I've always wondered what the NF/MMM overlap is and from the comments seems like a lot of NF-ers are over there too :)

For the more happiness/quality of life side of FI reading, I like the Frugalwoods and LivingaFi (though he has basically stopped blogging in retirement). For maths fun, Mad fientist is great.

Thanks for the resources!

I think I actually heard about MMM here ...@Fonzico, maybe?

I was figuring pollen since things are blooming like crazy here and I know quite a few people having similar issues.

Or it could actually be a cold? Dunno. Stiiiiiiiill coughing.

Yesterday’s wind-driven sand didn’t help one bit.

Friday

Breakfast

Yoga

Came home - discovered most of the files I thought migrated failed because they were too big - started again on that

Signed up for a 15 min consultation with a nutritionist and up for her newsletter

Dinner with friends - split a chicken biryani with a girlfriend instead of getting our own because we saw it was something ridiculous like 800g

After dinner drinks & pup snuggles with friends

725d9d3e3df3ec5c3f398c0d23b7813b.jpg

Saturday

Mall with DH for new leggings since I discovered mid down dog that my new Amazon purchased ones weren’t as squat proof as previously thought and no one needs to see my otters holding hands. Bought a size larger than I wanted because I didn’t want to fight my leggings to go on. Also picked up dress shoes because I’ve been without cute heels since the end of summer.

Lunch out at a Filipino place in the food court

Came home and napped with the pups

Dinner was our (late) anniversary dinner at STK - split the fish tacos and a t-bone (kept DH from ordering the 1200g version; kept him to the 600 or 800g portion), and had a side of mushroom pot pie. Also 3 damn delicious cocktails and churros.

Ate a bunch but wasn’t more squeezed into my dress when I left than when we arrived - and daaaaamn it was a neat thing zipping it. My ribs have gotten super fat.

Came home and passed out on the couch with the pups.

Sunday

Walked to breakfast - scrambled egg & salmon Benedict

Walked around the marina

Saw Endgame, had popcorn

Dinner with DH’s coworkers at the wing place

Came home to my purse having been dumped and emptied - luckily this time asshole dogs only ate a pack of dates, my favorite lipgloss & mints.

This is a day after that ass got my tote bag off the chair and ate my fancy wallet & brand new headphones.

Dick.

I signed up for a mini course on proofreading - haven’t yet done anything on it; mostly because the sales funnel copy on all this chick’s literature makes me throat punchy.

Monday

Rice crackers for breakfast.

Went to the gold souq with a girlfriend to get her customized wedding ring in process; also chatted with them about a custom job for me and found out it’ll be much cheaper than feared.

Lunch was a sushi buffet to celebrate the friends’ new job.

Dinner was popcorn.

Tuesday

Assholes woke me up at 6 by literally fighting on my face.

Dogs are the worst.

Had coffee and some scrounged leftovers - rice, half an avocado, eggs & kimchi for breakfast because I couldn’t wait for coffee Group

Had a fruit bowl and no sugar added fruit cooler thing while there

Walked half an hour to the mall, which I walked around

Ate 2 magic balls (date thingies) so I wouldn’t die

Yoga class was great and I got some good alignment pointers

Dinner was more fridge clean out - the last of the chicken shawarma stuff + the last of the rice

Had the last bag of popcorn while watching queer eye and trying not to cringe at some of the frequencies coming out of swishy Anthony kiedis’ face. Also snuggled babies because of the feels on the GA police/black lives matter episode.

77be903f0e155e5ffe6c8534d584ecad.jpg

No $ stuff done on either front - sales funnel emails are giving me damn ptsd

but...it doesn't even smell like food...guess I shouldn't try to apply logic to puppy decisions...

I am not completely understanding, even after looking up what a sales funnel is. You're proofreading some kind of sales manual?

That sushi looks fabulous *drool*.

That was a hell of an episode.

*he’s* not on tv - the guy in question has vaguely the same hair.

And it’s on Netflix - worth the watch; they do a lot of addressing social issues, as well as fashion, leveling up, etc.

Woof, so I’ve sucked at updating.

Wednesday

95553794e7929c51ff086a2e79a4602f.jpg

Breakfast group, haircut, delivery dinner

Thursday

Decided to start tracking again on MFP

0ad30462e61fdfce6e7414a5e1e8c022.jpg

Started out strong with overnight oats & yoga & shrimp + veggie packed soba

Plus a girlfriend coming over to snuggle pups

Then had Mexican out with DH’s work + 2 cocktails

Then DH got an emergency call

Friday

DH had to jet off for the weekend -

Overnight oats
Yoga
Considered visiting a doctor for my cough that got way worse last night but since it’s Friday zip is open
Came home and had another soba
Dinner was the rest of the shrimp + veggies with a rolled omelette
Had rice crackers as a snack
9e27ee3b070c895ce9617c3eca520e60.jpg

That’s 3 yogas this week, so I’m on track there at least!

Saturday

Assholes threw a party at 4:30 am - I didn’t handle it well, and Princess peed in the bed in retaliation

They did then let me sleep till 7:30, so that’s something ...

Overnight oats + chia berry jam + peanut butter granola again for breakfast

Made it out of the house because if nothing else, I needed to grab a lighter-weight (and even easier to launder) duvet

Tuna quinoa kale bowl thing at Wagamama while out - went grocery shopping too

Came home, took the pups for a walk, and made shrimp fried rice for dinner

White-knuckled it through a compulsion to eat rice crackers I didn’t need and wasn’t actually hungry for

Hola - I just remembered that I recently ran across (read: my best friend finally started and sent me a link to) a blog dealing with sarcastic and realistic mom stuff + really great tips on organization and meal prepping.

She’s only just starting, so there isn’t a *ton* of content, but what’s there is great (yeah - I’m biased, but if you know and like me; you’ll like her too).

She just posted her meal prep for next week:

Week 2

Nutrition

Did I?

1. Find a nutritionist I can vibe with and at least get a consultation under my belt

Consultation call scheduled for the 15th

2. Continue to not eat like an asshole

Mostly

Physical Fitness

Did I?

1. Week 1: Attend 2 classes

Done

2. Week 2: Attend 3 classes

Done

3. Week 3: Attend 3 classes + 1 lifting day
4. Week 4: Attend 3 classes + 2 lifting days

Modifying these to just 3 classes - 3 classes was at the edge of rough last week, body-wise. I think I’ll focus on building that base stronger before adding on next challenge.

Moar Fulfillment

Did I?

1. Research one of the identified potential income streams.

Nope - this took a backseat this week for two reasons: 1) I hate sales funnel copy, it makes everything sound like snake oil, and B) I lost my sense of urgency

2. Take 1 little mini-course per week.
3. Try to find local networks of people who do whatever it is I’m researching and ask them for guidance.
4. Spend some time each week trying to wrap my head around retirement monies.

Also none of these were accomplished - #4 should have been, but I was agitated about the rest, so anything resembling having to touch my computer got wrapped up in that. Also: I should theoretically be transferring my files from the service that I’m getting blocked from (OneDrive - cancelled my Office membership and am losing 2T cloud storage), though DH brought up a valid point that all the movies I’m worried about moving around are most likely on our external hard drives. Though, of course, the entire reason for moving them into cloud storage was for the eventuality of the hard drives crashing.

Which of course sends my brain into an existential crisis about the impermanence of possessions and the nature of memory - because what would a simple task be without a not-at-all-productive existential tailspin?
