So we'll probably have the registry office part near her and keep it relatively small. In the church ceremony, there'll be mostly my fiancee's family (who behave well) and my godmother. But nothing concrete is planned... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Went to the Go mme-up yesterday evening. So, nothing much else happend during the day. (Well, at work I had five different meetings and my mind was mush when I wanted to play Go.) And today was Worker's Day here in Germany (and, AFAIK, in mayn other countries). Spent the day at home being relatively acitve. Link's Quest - Working Out Worked out this morning including a 3 km run. Felt good overall, but I have pretty intense shoulder/neck pain. Tried to massage myself with a tennis ball, but it wasn't as sucessful as when I use it on my lower back. (And yesterday I finally registered for the 5.5 km run in June I want to participate in.) Daruk's Quest - Walking Went for a walk with my fiancee today and we played catch afterwards. Some easy 13000 steps today... Urbosa's Quest - Low-calories & low-carb Yesterday I ate a lot; espeically a lot of carbs: Yoghurt with otameal, a bagel with cheese, Schnitzel with chips, and two slices of bread as a late-night snack. However, I lost 100g between yesterday and today... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Today I ate "normally": scrambled eggs and bread with Obatzda (a Bavarian spread made from Camenbert, paprika and caraway) for breakfast. Yoghurt in the afternoon. And fried potatoes, veggies and salomon with Japanese seasoning for supper. (Plus half a chocolate bunny...) Revali's Quest - Go Went to the Go meet-up yesterday, but was too sluggish after work to "perfom". Mipha's Quest - Drawing ... Side Quests Still struggling to remember to do my breathing exercises... Started to read Flow by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. I struggle a bit to read non-fiction at the moment. But I referenced it in my dissertation, so I guess I should read it at some point. 1 Quote The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way. Akura
Last acupuncture session today. I helped against the shoulder pain, but it's not entirely gone. Let's see what the orthopaedist says next week... Link's Quest - Working Out ... Daruk's Quest - Walking ... Urbosa's Quest - Low-calories & low-carb Ate a yoghurt for breakfast, salad with fried chicken for lunch and burger with chips and chicken wings for dinner. (And two cookies as a snack.) Not ideal, but not too bad overall. Let's see in which direction the scale tips tomorrow... Revali's Quest - Go Wen to the second Go meet-up. Played against an old acquaintance who I haven't met since she changed her study program. (And I won all three games. Yay!) Mipha's Quest - Drawing ... Akura
Had to bring my car to the garage to get the tires changed. (Someday, I hopefully can do it myself again...) So, I worked from home before and afterwards. Not super productive though... Link's Quest - Working Out Worked out a bit. Still shoulder/back pain during push-/pull-ups. But ok. I try to do a little bit but not too much until I see the doctor next week. Moreover, I went for a 5 km run. Still far from being able to run without needing walking breaks... Daruk's Quest - Walking ... Urbosa's Quest - Low-calories & low-carb Yoghurt for breakfast, fried eggs and asparagus with a pretzel for lunch and tuna with zucchini and spinach for supper. Akura
Woke up with terrible shoulder/back pain. Got better during the day. Rest of the day was equally lazy and active. So... weekend, I guess! Link's Quest - Working Out Worked out a bit. Switched to knee push-ups to increase the volume and movement to help against the shoulder pain. Also, I did a sprint training for the first time instead of "normal" running. And I realised two things: First, running really fast for a short amount of time feels very good. At least as long I take my time to get my heart rate down afterwards. Second, different running speeds cause different sorts of back pain. Daruk's Quest - Walking ... Urbosa's Quest - Low-calories & low-carb Had fried eggs and veggies for breakfast and yoghurt for lunch. For dinner, I met a friend and we went to a Greek restaurant. I had an octopus salad and fried lamb with rice and pita bread. So, overall a bot too many carbs, but ok. Revali's Quest - Go ... Mipha's Quest - Drawing ... Also interesting on the "different" back pains on running speeds. Did you like the sprinting better than endurance running? Yes, but they are mostly mobility exercises and stretches. On 5/10/2019 at 3:30 PM, Manarelle said: Also interesting on the "different" back pains on running speeds. Well, stems probably from poor running form/alignment or something similar. On 5/10/2019 at 3:30 PM, Manarelle said: Did you like the sprinting better than endurance running? At the moment it only depends on my mood that day. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So... The last two weeks had been a bit stressful. Most things went more or less fine, but I was definitely super unmotivated to write here. A quick run-down of were I stand... Link's Quest - Working Out Overall, a lot of pain. The chest and shoulder pain form two weeks ago wandered through my upper body and every day a different part hurt. But now it's mostly fine. I guess, the tensions and inflammations needed time to dissipate. During the last week, I went running again and did a relatively intense bodyweight workout that left be super winded. I also started to do pull-/chin-ups again and immediately noticed slight pain and tension in my trapezoids. So, poor form during thee exercises is the most likely culprit of my recent pain. I'll reduce the intensity of the chin-ups. And today starts another round of physical therapy anyway, so I'll also get some external input/opinion. Played catch with my girlfriend and throwing and running after a football seems like a good movement therapy. One of my colleagues offers Yoga on Wednesday at noon. Went there last week and it did go pretty well overall. Alas, I had DOMS in my hamstrings for three days. Daruk's Quest - Walking No real long walking. I mostly blame my broken headphones, but that's, of course, a poor excuse. Urbosa's Quest - Low-calories & low-carb I ate reasonably well overall. My weight is on a downward trend, however, not as fast as I'd like. During the last few weeks, I had much fewer stomach problems so I might try intermittent fasting again. Or, at least, replace breakfast with a protein shake. Revali's Quest - Go Didn't go to a Go meet-up last week, because I went out for drinks with colleagues. Apart from that, studying Go is fine. Could be more structured, could be more rigorous, but I'm almost back at my old level performance. Mipha's Quest - Drawing During the last weeks, I focussed a lot on video game development in Unity. I want to learn C# anyway to bolster up my curriculum vitae and adding middleware is probably also a good idea when I want to enter the software industry in one way or another in a few years. And while I have a bit of experience creating and programming video games in a different engine, I struggle a lot with Unity at the moment. (Mostly learning which functions are hidden within which menus.) But overall, it's a lot of fun. So, for the next months, I will focus on that as my main creative outlet. As I want to learn more or less everything in developing such complex software, it also encompasses art. So, drawing is not completely off the table. Side Quests Remembering to do my breathing exercises is still tough... Reading is tough. Tried to make it a morning habit, but there's usually to little time to get going. And due to a change work schedule, I sit in the underground less often for long time... Playing video games is mostly random... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, things aren't too bad. And I have an idea for the next challenge... 1 Quote The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way. Instagram food log Link to comment

Interesting result: My therapist thinks my legs might be of different lengths. Would explain that my left foot is turned outwards more than the right and that my pains/problems are always asymmetrically on one side. On Thursday I have an appointment with a different therapist at the same praxis and I'll ask her about it, too. And I'll probably study Katy Bowman's work to see what she thinks... At the moment I'm a bit hesitant to see my orthopaedist about it since I don't want him to simply prescribe insoles... ----- New challenge... 1 Quote The impediment to action advances action.
